2. Flatwounds all the way - D'Addario Chromes are my personal recommendation.
3. Like this, right ? http://www.stringsandthings.co.uk/spec_sray4_2pu.htm They're available as H/HS/HH - you'd need to order one through a dealer.
4. Sorry, only ped gets to see my tongue nowadays.
5. John Myung - Fantastic chops and very modest with it - compliments Dream Theater wonderfully. Steve Harris - Does all it needs to make the songs sound great, dosn't go over the top. Marcus Miller - Amazing groover and all around down-to-earth chap, saw him live and he blew me away. Trip Wamsley - Completely under-rated solo bassist who would put a few famous names to shame, worth checking out. Jason Newstead - Made me want to play bass, just enjoys(ed) what he did and wasn't fussed about being flashy.
6. This pic looks a bit better than the vid.
7. You could hear it !?!?
8. Hah - it was the encore song and I'd got quite bored of it by that point.. 7 mins.. pffft
9. Only ordered from them once - they are never in a rush.. The orders go to napper in Manchester - he then gets the store in London to package them up and send them off.
10. Nice gear line up - get some pics up in Bass Porn .

*edit*

A natural finish on the Bongo does help a bit in masking it's shape, I like.
13. It was a Yamaha RBX775 actually ! Defretting is indeed a piece of cake, making it a tidy affair however - is the hard bit. If you want it to look super neat and professional - i'd get a professional to do it. If you just want something to knock about and try out fretless - save the cash and do it yourself.
14. There's one here too - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=111 Do you agree with the sentiment ? These things are lovely looking..
15. £15 - i'd imagine since it's in a bigger place the number of tickets won't be a problem.
16. Super Gary - when do we get a line up ? .

19. I think no musician is ever really content with themselves. I find i'm always raising the bar on what I should be able to and what I aspire to play. 4 years ago I wouldn't have dreamt of playing some of the stuff we do due to it being beyond my ability at the time - now it just seems the norm. If I suddenly thought I was 'good enough' to not want to improve i'd probably sell all my gear and start playing golf.
20. Due to the impending date - consider this stickied.
21. If you love the bass then I think you should modify it, you wouldn't want to sell it then get something else you don't get on with.
22. I find that very odd. I often plug my bass direct into my soundcard - the active basses are easily audible and don't require me to pump the volume at all. Passive basses are much quieter and require me to boost the systm volume to hear a thing..
23. I know someone who's bought a fretless 6 string of one of those, hasn't been delivered yet though..
