1. If both cabs are 8 Ohms, each will present the same load to the amp so get the same power. I've run a 212 and 112 together, different makes but both 8 Ohms, and it was ace! :-)
2. If you're looking for portability and versatility, have you considered a longer term rig of either two 210s or a 210 plus a 115? I have a variety of different cabs, from a 110 to a 115, and take different selections depending on the gig and the band.
3. ^^that. Nowadays 5 strings and longer scales are commonplace, but the C Bass was most unusual for the time. Quality English made gear. I love my Overwaters! :-)
4. A P pickup in bridge position would sound a bit fatter than the J bridge pickup, but the J neck pickup will give you the more P like sound. Just leave the bridge pickup off if you don't like that tone, or get a P bass!
5.
They bought market share.... SWR did not do D Class very well, as that is where all were heading Fender felt SWR did not do enough to enhance their stable. Stupid, but hey Fender see Fender do.
I've heard of this in other fields too.. buy up the competition just to close them down. Eventually all that's left to buy is your gear.
6. Is that 15 posted? He said, fingers and toes crossed! ;-)
7. Free bump.. or you could keep it and do this.. [sharedmedia=core:attachments:217545]
8. What's that old joke about 'bucks up the feet'? ;-) Most of us folkies do stuff by ear rather than charts. 'Too disorganised' is just the typical Brit self-deprecation coming out. Paying gigs? I feel your pain!
9. Possibly i) and possibly ii). Also possibly neither. It all depends on expansion and contraction of bits of wood.
10. Yup, sometimes just the sound pressure of the combined band in a small enclosed space is terrible for actually hearing things.
11.
Oh indeed I agree. In fact that's some of the pleasure I get working on them. I think this one is pretty cool. But sometimes, though not always are a higher end instrument is really nice and you can get something more out of them. Personally I think this bass bass the tone ive been looking for. Its just the feel is a little off.
So, a few tweaks and you have it nailed.. fantastic! Personally I really like the fact that I've put some of my own effort into my own instruments, as it makes me feel more of a bond with them.
12.
As said, get another SC for more beans. Having said that, if you need more than 300W through an 8ohm cab for bass at a rehearsal, then your band must have serious 'volume war' problems. Get everyone to turn down. I hope you're using ear protection, too.
In a nutshell. I SAID 'IN A NUTSHELL'!!
13.
Will you lot please stop looking for stuff thats broken...
You mean there's more bits to find?

Overwater
..............................So much for Overwater always thought they sounded sterile anyway.
...where mine are tone monsters which I'll never let go. Each to their own.
15. Errr.. details? In W.Yorks, so will keep eyes open and spread the word.
16. If you're doing a more folk-rock thing, just use what you're comfortable with. Last time I took notice, Dave Pegg, who must be pretty much the icon of such behaviour, was using an Ibanez SR 5 string.
17. For me it was The Wild Rover.. hated it and playing it for ages, then one night I looked up out of my pit of misery and saw everyone in the place dancing on the tables and grinning from ear to ear. I though I might as well join them, especially as I was getting paid for this. Love it now! :-)
18. I have one of these.. an 'accidental' Ebay purchase while wondering if I would get into looping.. I actually use it mostly in Tape Delay mode, whereby it degrades the signal on repeats so it's more subtle. Also if you want you can access or mute any of the 4 'heads' individually. Love it, GLWTS!
19. I use mostly a Fred Kelly Slick Pick light or medium when playing a bass-strum style in a drumless lineup. Downstroke only, but being a smaller pick I don't have any snagging problems. We sell them in the shop (£1.50), although I see they're not on the website. Handy, that!
20. Here we go.. 49" long, 17" wide (super jumbo size) and just short of 6" deep. Made with multi-layer stiffening and padding.. there used to be some blurb online about the Tribal Planet GX series construction. Bargain! Might be a delivery upcharge for Highlands depending on the carriers, as it's a large thing!
21. There are some of these left at the shop; I'll have a measure up. Stiffened gigbag. http://www.themusicroom-online.co.uk/product_info.php/products_id/4326 I think Warwick do/did a hardcase, as a CZ handbuilder supplied his acoustic bass in such a one a couple of times.
22.
.. As for the setup, I can't find my measuring tools but it hasn't been adjusted since I got it so it should be around Fender's standard measurements.
Hehe.. file under 'it was in tune when I bought it'! The setup can wander quite a bit with changing seasons and conditions, even just in a couple of days. It could be worth getting both basses in front of a decent setterupper, and say you'd like the J to play as near as possible like the Ray.
