Cheers pal, it almost seems silly selling it considering what you get for the price. But then again I have a SR5 and Modulus Flea so it's kinda covered anyway, I'm basically just scared of ripping out the frets and then changing my mind!
You could always get a fretless neck to suit, then if you're still not happy with it, sell the lot as a set. Seen it done that way before. -
Haha, thought this was going to be a Screwfix-related thread. Great place for rads!
One of the best RHCP songs ever. And yes, great melodic work from Flea. And it was only released as a B-side and on a soundtrack album.
I'd forgotten that! I got the Give It Away single with a couple of remixes and it was on there IIRC. Still have it buried somewhere..
This just came on my MP3 player. Me likey. Very much. Might even be my favourite Flea bassline.
That whole album is my favourite Flea bassline!
https://www.youtube....h?v=RKi8t7qD11A
There used to be the full length documentary on there; an excellent and interesting watch, as long as you like RHCP!

Get hold of the smallest one you currently have, and give each side a wipe on a sharpening stone. For light duty such as saddle height it's worked a treat for me if I can't lay my hands on an imperial tiny one but have a few metric ones around. Otherwise Ebay is your friend in this..

Pino is great! In answer to your first post, I have a couple of FX with a 'Fretless' setting, and they fall well short of the mark if you have Pino as your inspiration. Usually a bit softer attack with some compression and chorus.
Wrong type for my project but have a bump anyway...
Cheers for that, TG.. turned out they weren't right for my project either! If anyone is teetering on the edge, or just needs some extra weight in their Projects Box, the price is now down by 1/3!!
They all balance just fine though which I would find more of an issue than the weight.
Nail>>head. :-)
I've used The Chord Company Cream cables for the past 7 years. Highly recommended for sound and build quality without the crazy boutique prices. http://www.chord.co....-and-bass-cable
These ^^ , and Neil at The Den in Keighley is yer man for them! Hifi cables for gigging players. I have a couple..

I took the East pre out of my Overwater J5 - bought used - and frankly don't think about the impact on value. I already knew that bass is a very long term keeper! If you're likely to shift the bass on in a while, but don't enjoy the pre, take it out but keep it on one side for selling day. If the bass is a keeper, sell the pre and buy a few sets of strings! ;-)
I think I said 'bloody' once in a thread - I got a formal warning from a moderator.
I'm a member of Archers Appreciation FB group re the radio series. Swearing is quite tolerable to most of the group. I think even our illustrious leader has been known to lapse into the vernacular occasionally!
Last year Mrs ET and myself had a 25 years silver Not-Married party. My band played, our son's band played, and the bar bill cost me a small fortune. It was nothing like Talkbass.
That sounds like a good do! I didn't use those scenarios quite literally, more just to go with the vibe of the present company.
I've been given warnings there for things that I wouldn't do here, but their house, their rules etc.
That, really.

'Sfunny, I quite like Talkbass for what it is, rather than bemoaning what it isn't. Admittedly I spend waaay more time here on Basschat, and the two vibes are different, but it's just like going to your parents' silver wedding do rather than out for several pints with your mates. . I bet everyone here would act slightly differently at the two events! :-)

Grand.. sounds like you'll do that again? Welcome to the fold!
Be prepared to only ever want to use a fretless live from now on.
This. Way to go! :-)

Wow, some beauties and some horrors on here! This is mine, as it appears nowadays, and the back story: http://basschat.co.u..._hl__megacustom

Where in Yorkshire are you, Malcspring1?
I had a GK500 Fusion for 2 hours before k sent it back. I now have a Puma 300 and a One10 cab. I play in a local educational trust orchestra. I've never been happier with the sound.
I got a GK Fusion 550, the one with multi-valve pretty, and within a couple of hours I knew I loved it! I feel the same on the halfrounds.. excellent strings, and suitable for 35" scale. I wait with bated breath to see what happens in future. Hopefully the quality control will mean just as good strings! Edit: I know some were made with silks, and the folks at Treorchy said they did both but were leaning towards silks. We have 2 sets left in the shop, which I might get myself to stock up(!), which have silks and definitely came from Treorchy.
