1.
apparently he's pretty nearly deaf
Perfect setup for me to knock Hartke Amplification but I shant lol
2. Ahh that's a shame, he had a back up bass player who was playing circles around him on a fender jazz - i just assumed he had arthritis or something?? His singing was on the money but not a lot else, even the backup band was mediocre apart from the drummer who was the most entertaining part of it!! I only paid £25 for the actual gig, £30 for the handsigned painting and £20 for the T shirt. Still my favourite player but obviously past it
3. ...And I wasn't impressed. It took 3 songs into the gig before they got the sound check corrected, the opening artist was boring and Jack looked like he was just going through the motions - not to mention his 3 minute long solo - it was a repetitive ramble that went nowhere and was like me doing a warm up exercise (mis-fingered chord shapes on a fretless is a massive no no. I'm a massive Jack Bruce fan, his songs were the first I learnt on bass and his recorded improvisation is second to none (except maybe Jaco). I purchased one of 5 handsigned paintings and a T shirt but couldn't help leaving the gig feeling disappointed and a lil depressed, I haven't been that let down since I saw Whitesnake. As rule I always assume the more experienced artists to put on a better show but I guess not... Anyone else been to see him on this tour???
4.
Probably not listening loud enough.
This ^^
5. I'm sure Steve Harris of Iron Maiden played one too - remember looking for one as my first bass lol - white and maple it was too, I wanted a black newcastle utd pickguard for it...ah to be 15 again
6. Ha! I was staring at the pic for about 5 mins thinking - why has it only got one pickup?? Only been half a year since I played a bass and i'm beginning to forget what they look like
7. Ah I'd be kitted out for life with the dirty blonde & bleached blonde - would just want a genz benz or TC electronic rig to compliment them
8.
Nope. Usually end up thinking 'I can't believe you lot are stupid enough to pay us to come and play songs you already heard 10000000000000000 times before, that are piss easy to play and let us come back every other month and pay us to play the same set again!'
THIS!!! ^^^
9. What would you prefer? 2 high quality guitars/basses and a good quality low wattage amp OR 1 high quality guitar/bass, a good quality low wattage amp and a custom high wattage amp ???
10. Further to this!! All the guitar techs I know who fix up 100's of guitars a year always seem to have a Tele as their own personal guitar...coincidence??
11. Yeah these are lovely, I'm the same and prefer the old reissues but the modifications/upgrades Fender have added over the years make the things a damn sight easier to play!! Haha. I reckon this one will grow on you, i've always been a strat/ES 335 fan and near hated the tele for both looks and sound but after you own one for a couple o months you get attached to it and can't put it down...it's surreal mine's beckoning me now...
12. Love that guitar with the naughts and crosses on the back, just looks cushy
13. This is my favourite bass is the world
14. Bargain, Dave's always got quality gear at a great price - BUMP!!! EDIT: vintage white and a spotless f-board is a great finish ALSO I've owned several fretless basses and the sturdiness of a carbon neck maintaining your setup is highly beneficial. I'm not a fan of the carbon board sound, i think it lacks warmth/vintage tone, so this would be a perfect bass for myself.
15. Yet another beautiful guitar, bump for Zapp - always has quality gear. I'm a Strat fan too but ES-335 type guitars are a close second!! Check out Johnny A! EDIT: Strat Cat I should say, sounds marginally cooler
16. I like the telecaster without the pickguard...just a shame i'm more of a Stratocaster guy
17. My dream bass
18. Well the silver certainly is the nicest finish when you look at em properly - a good choice!
19. Yup, it's true!! Check the headstock at the end!! I thought I recognised that tone, they really are that good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGf9JcmJgC4&feature=related
