1. Ok final bump before I move to Carlisle from the Cardiff area! Last chance for the Southerners!!!
2. I'd gig an £800 bass I reckon, I'd only be worried if it was fragile like a hofner. In my house £1600, for a doublebass i'd pay £2k because I find them more fun to play, they're super classy too. Definately agree on the £1500 bass versus a £10,000, once your up there, your up there the difference is not as vast as £200 versus £1500. The most i've spent is £1250 for a fantastic Marleaux bass but at current i'd need to jump to £700-£800 to recognise a difference from my £60 P bass copy. Great feedback guys, I can't pitch in about cars I literally know nothing haha i'd be interested if I lived where My Name is Earl lives but I wouldn't throw a penny at Cardiff's roads!!!
3. I think my limit would be £1600 but it would only be for home enjoyment...I might even use it for home jam sessions but that would be it! I reckon after 4-8 years you'd get your moneys worth back and i'd relax like I do about laptops over £500 = 3 years use and i'm happy, its probably out of date by then too nowadays. I would definitely pay £1600 for a guitar because I tend to use them more playing in my bedroom whereas bass I like to practice with others. HOWEVER, with basses you tend to notice the quality difference between boutique and stock much more than in the geetar market I think. If I could pick any bass it would be this : http://www.frays-basscorner.com/instock/ne.../WT_ZoidVM.html OR this: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/official-...90/index30.html ...But I'm guessing their both like £3k
4. Just £190 then, cheaper than my first bass alone...

7. I converted after 6 years but I still have a lot of love for an EB3 or fretless jazz - I can't get on with rickenbackers because of small hands.
8.
Are you selling 3 of these?
Nope just thought them relevant in 3 different sections of the site
9. Black plate for maple necks!! Nah I wouldn't feel guilty about a P bass, one of those basses that'll last you life and can use for pretty much everything! I've tried all sorts and ended up with a precision despite my best efforts to resist. I failed to fight off Fender in general, as a kid I thought they looked boring and "everybodys got one"...then I realised why
10. 10 days and i'll be moving it up to Carlisle

17.
MB1. "The Works" type BUMP!. "Emerson Lake and Palmer Not 'arf!"
Thanks MB1, this is my final lot and i'll be out of the Bass'ing game but still gonna hang around the site getting my Wood and Tronics fix!! May even jump back in if theres a nice fretless 4 ...although I shouldn't . YES, Pink Floyd and Genesis for me, Hawkwind, Uriah Heep, ELP and i'm all out at sea!
18.
Thanks for the bump, Schnozzalee! You've made me feel a bit guilty about selling now though. Should I stick with and make the fretless my thing? It's the second one I've had but, even though I adore the sound, I just can't it going in any projects I get involved with. It deserves to be 'out there' not 'in here'!
Yeah you should stick with it! I always used my Marleaux fretless five as my main bass, twas mega versatile and with an ebony board theres nothing from stopping you slapping it too! If thats your thing . Looks like you may have a sale ^^
19. Same music taste and i'm from Truro too originally! More of an EB3 fan than Ricky's , although, I had a '72 sunburst 4001 copy made by John Birch, sounded just like Geezer Butler . Welcome Aboard!
