1. It's funny you ask this, every musicman I've played has had a twisted neck dead spots or bowing (I took one in part ex and sold it on without playing it). I wouldn't touch em with a barge pole anymore, especially after musicman20's return of a stingray classic, plus, I just hate the screws on the pickup sticking into my thumb - not comfortable. I'd sit tight with your CV precision and jazz! Try a kubicki
2. Is there another pickup under that cover?
3. Thanks! I use chorus on fretless basses a lot but always reverb - never bought an amp that doesn't have it! Thomann has some great, unique instruments - I still get the offers letter from when I bought my first bass . You must be a big guy to handle a 6 string fretless! If I returned to bass i'd be an under 9lbs 4 string fretless chap - tiny hands n feeble back haha...Oh!!! And I'd definately have a BOSS DR880 in my setup
4. Thanks Funkgod, I like the powerbass and acousticbass settings a lot - they sound good with anything. Some of the guitar effects even sound good with a bass plugged in too! You don't really need much more than this an amp and a bass - My best setups were this, a roland cube30 and a Sue Ryder...and also this, with a Genz Benz 750 and a Marleaux Fretless Consat 5. Useful for beginner or pro
5. I have a top of the line Boss DR880 Version 2 Drum Machine in immaculate condition with original manual, plug and (now wrinkled) box etc. I got rid of my Korg Pandora for this - no competition. http://www.youtube.c...d&v=DeOXKdpUi3s It was purchased during University for improvisational practice and composing songs over various chord progressions/keys etc. On it's many preset tracks, including various musical styles, you can dial in (via the volume knobs) guitar, bass and drum accompaniment as well as take them away; you can create your own in drum and bass grooves too of course (get as technical as you like). Through an amplifier or headphones, just plug your instrument in, choose you amp model and effects (or just leave it clean) and you'll have great fun - I promise!! I can provide pictures if requested, but as I say, just a secure, yet wrinkly box to put you off - the machine is as new. These retail at £435 online, so i'm asking for just £195 + postage (will discount for collection). Specifications found below (and feedback below that ): http://www.bossus.co...p?ProductId=473
6. Everytime I hear the name Amanda Palmer I just dismiss the conversation and leave.
7. ...and after playing his dumble http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kJus_qf2Pk&feature=relmfu
8.
Bob
Sorted. NEXT!!!
9.
And, of course, this monster from Metheny (solo starts with the greatest 'wow' moment in jazz guitar history...at 1.36)
Thank you for posting this, really enjoy Pat Methany Group - when Jazz is good, it beats prog rock for me!! I need to have a think about my favourite solo but it's gonna be something from 80's LA/NY hair metal era
10. I like em, I think there is room for a 3 single coiled bass - I've owned a 56' Fender copy and you just wished it had another pickup in the neck and the bridge. However, I'm not keen on Gibson being the one that creates it - I don't have the trust in them anymore, even on the 2010 VOS '58 I tried, the finish was untidy .
11. I love the jigsaw puzzle panther but not the one in the OP...Also!!! Is Uriah Duffy the only guy that does demos or summit?? he's everywhere!!! Lakland, Marleaux, Sandberg etc
12. Could you post a picture of the bass? One of the Spector guys should be able to identify it for you and then a trip to Harmony Central/google should reveal any design issues. I began on a Warwick Rockbass which should? be a similar shape and I had no issues other than I couldn't slap it - don't know to this day if it was my technique or the instrument (there's been others i've had that didn't work for slap but it's not my style anyway so not matter!!).
13. BEHOLD!!! (Thanks Paul5 )
14. Aww how do I post mine??
15. A belated happy birthday!!! Tom Hamilton's playing one of these with Aerosmith currently but in blue
16. The above relates to 2011. In 2007 the Gibson USA Factory was making 325 guitars a day. Just reading a thread of a guy who visited the plant is all - they've asked Mike Eldred, he only confirmed that they put out less than the above 200 Custom Shop Instruments per day (2011).
17. 200 of these are 'Custom Shop' guitars...anybody know how many Fender produces???
18. That's cool man, I'm a Carvin fan - I remember seeing these when they came out and nicer than an early 70's vintage jazz is what i heard.
19. Not that the 7.5" radius is a problem on a Tele (frets seem higher than on a strat) it's far better having the flatter 9.5" radius for playability. I have a G&L where the V neck profile is the same all along whereas the Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Reissue went from a V to a C profile behind the higher frets (both very nice indeed) but which is your tele like? Ex Charvel Boy Mike Eldred's Review!!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O669TZBfls
20. My first guitar teacher taught me on Shergold guitars and basses...nostalgia
21. Ahh, thankyou - that's puzzled me for 8 years lol
22. Ahh, the pinnacle...does it have an active/passive switch?
