1. I have to agree with BassBunny & Chaypup
2. Stumbled across this previously, but I discovered it again this evening!! In the days pre-G&L, my favourite would have to be the last one - instant James Brown tone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0P-6gGZzG8

5. I only know of Steve using a heavy precision, extremely heavy flats and trace elliott amplifiers - I've never seen him using pedals live
6. Wow!! There's no way to improve on that...just stunning, love the inlays
7. Yayaya, I like! Very Leon Wilkeson
8. Non better than G&L Basses & Guitars for Quality, Value for Money & Tone - You do have to be man to play the neck though, some o those are chunky. I've had 6 since my first, and am planning for another 2!! There is a difference between the Tribute & US series, but the former still beats seven shades out of the majority of beginner/intermediate models. I'm very pleased with them, and having just bought in a guitar from a new 'masterbuilt' brand, I still consider my G&L's far nicer...not sure if I should be gutted or not .
9. I'd try a Nitro guitar first, I found it an awfully 'crumbly' finish that marks extremely easily - I hear no difference between nitro & poly. I like to look after my stuff obsessively, so I prefer poly because it doesn't mark up, stays looking new & is much less sticky on my hands/forearm - no dings!! So holds the (modern) instrument's value better.
10. We've had a discussion about Bigsbys, so I thought I'd enquire about peoples experiences with Floyd Rose Bridges?? I've owned an '88 Jackson Charvel Star with one equipped, but I didn't use the bar at all (...I know); I tuned it maybe once a fortnight and it stayed, but off course you have to tune it 12 times (6 for the nut, 6 for the bridge). There's the whole locking kahler vs floyd rose (licensed vs original) argument, but I'm wanting to ask how practical they are, in contast to the 2 point non locking trem I know & love. All input greatly appreciated
11. I like it, very 80's, and tonnes of people rave about Carvin - I don't do purple though, a nice ocean turquoise for me!
12. ...damn I'd be ecstatic!! Congratulations mate, get it made fretless
13. G&L and Yamaha are my favourite brands at the moment - welcome to the club!!
14. Wood & Tronics are my Achilles Heel, if I was still in Cardiff I doubt I'd resist.
15. The poor quality music that ruined rock...who said that??
16. I like the lead balloon in the middle of this interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj9LzzYEb8E
17.
He has lost the plot hasn't he. It's not like they're everyone's sup of tea in the first place, now he seems intent on making them an even more niche product by alienating current and potential customers. As one of the respondents said, customer service is everything.
+1
18. They're still awesome fun live, true his voice isn't as good as it was but it's to be expected with the age, same for David Lee Roth - I don't know how Steve Tyler & Jack Bruce manage to keep it perfect.
19. How would you describe the neck profile on these? EDIT: ...well on this particular one lol
