    I just wanted to see if anyone knows the location of one of my guitars I imported & owned this one since new but shifted it during a time of financial difficulty - now I can't find it anywhere!! Not exactly a model that goes under the radar - It's a Charvel Star from the Legacy Series and the graphic is known as 'The Gold Bolt'. The last owner was based in Worcester but he shifted it on... The only distinguishing feature is that there is a rusted thumb print is on the neckplate - Serial No. is something very close to GJ(?)0193. I'd be massively grateful if anyone finds it!!     Aha!! I know the answer to this one - a girl in Cardiff both records and tours with a vintage musicmaster (I shall find the band name for you), question is, are you talking about the bass or guitar version? EDIT: Victorian English Gentleman's Club - she works at the Recording Studios where OldGit held the Welsh BC Bash. She has a '77 Musicmaster Bass in Banana Yellow.

    Aww keep the Tony Butler!! I may be moving to Cheltenham soon, so I'll probably have to buy it - my parents always say Big Country are the best live band they've seen and that's compared to Lizzy with Lynott and all sorts!!

    I don't think Basschat has EVER seen one of these up for sale! I can remember reading about them in Bass Magazine when they were first released. They look fantastic, I reckon this would be an amazing instrument for some Ska as well as Classic Rock. I've just been speaking with the Fret King Masterbuilder this week, £900 for a UK built custom shop instrument is a damn fine price too!! Welcome to the forum!!

    You've been checking out Strats!!? I've been on a quest for the last year. The LSL saticoy is the worst i've played for the money (if you're going boutique), the 1954 50th Anniversary Masterbuilt Fender is the best i've tried. What price range are you looking within?

    Big_Stu!! That's the BC'ers name, I knew it'd come to me, I think he owns Jim Lea of Slade's SG. 12stringbassist owns a Green 4001 on here too I think (i'm not too sure about the name, )

    I've owned a 4001 type from '75 I think it was. If your a fingerstyle player like me, I would not recommend them as the pickups are so high output, and crackle to the touch.I should also mention, Birch's builds vary massively - some have neck so thin they bow from slight string tension and other's are like a baseball bat - try before you buy!! There's an SG bass in Electric Ladyland, Bristol - it's in black finish but the owner wants close to 2 grand for it and you have to go see him in person - no online shop. He has a double neck guitar/bass 4001 too but it has a repaired neck & headstock. I personally wouldn't pay more than a grand for one, but it's cool that they are vintage, custom shop basses and you can get that Geezer Butler tone straight from the plug in. The truss rod requires a 16 Box Spanner - I had to keep taking mine back to Overwater because it had so little play in over the years. If you find a decent one for sub £1k i'd keep it, my guitar tutor taught me on an SG doubleneck guitar and a green 4001 bass; in my first band, the guitarist had a J1 too, so they're a bit of a nostalgia trip for me. Sorry to hear about your condition, is it at all similar to the reason why Scott Devine wears that glove when he plays??
