  1. Then manufacturers come up with core to wrap low tension, without giving you a number and statments such as tonaly balanced... If only all manuf quoted the tension per gauge n variety of string... Like calouries and fat on a biscuit... thats it time for a coffee 'n a orange club... (and i dont mean an early p bass neck in roasted mapel)
  2. Picked up a Cruiser by Crafter P-a-like from gumtree... Nice take on the P body with a slight jazz-esq bottom bought... A Solid and Heavy bass! This a more modern shape. great project if ya already had 2x J pups kicking about... 4 pots are £20ish... http://craftereurope.com/prodinfo9771766/GLWS.
  3. Nice take with the white pickup cover... As for the neck join? don't they check over when finished? - poor show... fret buzz may be more truss rod n transit issue, but still... still not a tort fan but thats percy taste... Saw Black Sabbath Paranoid Classic Albums the other night, Geezer had a pair of Lakelands, Laklandie, Laklandies... well, 2 Nice basses... Enjoy!
  4. nice... simple and elegant... White pickup covers need to go... they scream!
  5. Big Hawkwind fan... up to Black Sword '85ish - Then i went a bit... mmm American Hawkwind? - Monster Magnet...
  6. headstock - No... What were they thinking / drinking... Surely needs to be a 2 a side, (or a 3 n 1 if ya want to get arty...) plus a bit of scroll of curl, i'd go for a simple mirror the bottom bought?
  7. For those interested and missed it... https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/435220-isolated-bass-geddy-lee-tom-sawyer/ Mind ya ears... it comes in late n loud! And for those with Prime, 'Classic Albums... 2112 (& Moving Pictures...) some interesting insight and blah blah...

  10. lots of fastner shops in UK on ebay... use em often for motorbike bits... swap em all for stainless A2... Intonation and bridge saddle etc... cheap enough... I ordered some saddle screws, DOG end rather than CONE end... to sit better in the bridge channel, but big fingers and small phone meant i must of picked the wrong size... will order again for the sake of a couple of quid... assemble with a smear of vasaline or sewing machine / clipper oil...
  11. not quite metal, but maybe a valid excuse to view some kate bush vids on you tube... 😉

  15. Used to be more 'TheGreek'... Marriage then kids priorties change, Motorbikes and Music take more of a backseat and more 'Woodinblack' My music has taken back off from where it stopped, except for thd likes of the Black Keys or Muse... but hardly a modern thing... Now, eldest is older... taken on my CD collection, so more in the car CD amd Radio XFM or other..., im using a simple Sony Mp3 and headphones for a music fix, steal an hour or so when i can, same goes for the motorbike... full-on hi fi emergance experiance in the lounge is long gone...
  16. Always blown away by the 'vision' and build skills of these threads...
  17. There is a product used by those in the motorcyle fraternity... Called ACF50... a bit WD40ish but... not cheap for a single use Well have a google and a read .. GT85 is another with PTFE and lavender... WD40 is in most peoples garage or shed though...

  20. Dont think there is a Folkstone branch, a UK postal address office in Folkstone, with a phone on re-direct. Got my Ibby GSR200 from Bax... didnt realise they were not uk untill looking at the parcel tracking... parcel is in netherlands depo, i initially thought they had sent it to the wrong place! Admittedly it was a few quid cheaper...
  21. This recent talk of Rush... Had 2112 and Moving pictures on CD for ages... orderd Signals and Grace under pressure on CD from amazon to replace the vinyl up in the loft... Saw them at Wembly Arena back in 83... Signals Tour... @mikebass456 Jacob's Ladder - sending good vibes and bass tremours to you and ya brother...
