  1. That Salmon Pink is luverly... Had one of the '80s Squier '57 Strats in Salmon Pink with Mapel...
  2. Any idea what make the odd looking six strings on the left are? pressumably the vol and tone mounted at 90° as some sort of 'roller' control?
  3. Welcome, Nice brown burst on the P... Need some picks of the Ibby as well - there is an Ibanez Owners Thread.. There was a Trace Elliot Stack on here... looked like something out of Stonehenge... and prolly loud enough to reach back in time!
  4. It takes me longer to have a wee, get my shoes on, jacket, find my phone 'n keys before leaving the house!
  5. ^Shame its got the holes... @Bobo_08 on here recently got a mirror plate for their Harley Benton Satin now Lynott-a-like... looked nice. Just need the studded strap n ya sorted! Simple but Statement!
  6. Is Andertons local? Drop it back (or have it collected) and blag a free gig bag to protect the new one... or a little something for your inconveniance... set of Fender Flats - keep it in the family... I wouldn't be doing the drilling if new...
  7. I'd go no scratchplate, just the control plate... less n simple. But, It's your build. Maybe a funky sticker if ya so inclined?
  8. Black Keys - El Cameno - Little Black Submarines
  9. love the almost flanger / phaser overtones on the banjo... moves it in its own space...
  10. What happened Harv? Some Trip... and not to the Dentist!
  11. There is a post on the Ibby Owners Thread of a pre going duff on an old SR600... They ended swapping the pickups and going passive. Hope Ibanez get ya sorted... i think the pre n pots etc comes as a 'part' The SR300 Humbuckers can be run passive maybe without the power tap bit, and different wiring for the coil tap... would be an option.
  12. Not strictly Reggae.. but have just found my Dub Side of the Moon CD... Mrs was tidying up the TV cabinet of a lot of the kids old DVDs... Will have to get my eldest (16) to give it an air, after they 'discovered' Dark Side a year or so ago...
  13. So.. this post has just awoken my 1980's when being 12, and having If Ya Can't Stand The Heat, and 12 Gold Bars on cassette, and a cheap mono cassette player on my lap when out in the car... Just bought 12 Gold Bars on CD via Music Magpie / eBay... £3... some great tunes on there... later stuff not so much.
  14. Nice... although the latest pics look a little washed out in colour compared to earlier December body n fretboard pics. Can we have another?
  15. Neck of the Ibby GSRM20, but new may be a little over £150... Squier Mini P... £150.. Not sure if peoples have mentiond issues with replacement strings to fit the Squier, availability of flats.. Both great choices...
  16. Boots Spray Plaster...
  17. I've come back to these pics some 4hrs latter... Yep I do like that Brown Burst... Looks like black coffee, breaking thru the crema layer...
  18. The Sunburst is nice, more two tone tobacco... not a fan of the 3 tone Sunburst with red n yellow. Sorry, just not a fan of the Warwick shape. (Like a P and love the 'worn pebble' of the SR) But, I do like a plain n simples natural finish... (like My SR600) looks right.
  19. Likes a bit of drive, loves a bit of modulation, chorus, phaser, flanger... but subtle... less is more... just enough to keep a riff moving in space - Big Hawkwind Fan... Dont like it overdone 'underwater' sounding...
  20. Manual / Handbook... https://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical_instruments/guitars_basses/el_basses/rbx/downloads.html Action, Intonation... Have a read, if i doubt, ask...
  21. looks good... just a little note, All the bridge saddles look to be set the same. (have a look at the bridges of other NBD threads) These may need to be adjusted, they are usually staggered, due to the different thickness of the strings and notes of the open string... this is called 'intonation'... you may hear that the notes go slightly out of tune as you go further up the neck, particularly after half way, the 12th fret... dont worry just now, if you post ya location you might get an offer of help from someone local, if not a simple fix with the aid of a £10 clip on tuner, which would be handy, 30 mins or so and a google search.
  22. Oh... and we need a pic of the bass... It is customary to make a NBD post (New Bass Day). {search 'NBD' to see what joy it brings to the basschat masiv'}
  23. Nice shape... Like the idea of a tele head stock... maybe reverse tele? Like the chrome pickup, dont like the bkack MM, looks to modern. Dont like the bridge cover. Bass tune o matic would look nice, but unsure about amount of adjust for intonation... would need to be bang on fittment like the old P control plate, i also like a strat jack... have you considered an Ibanez Talman plate (strat jackish and single hole for a stacked pot V n T - they do a flat n curved option..but may be plastic!.) like the wood n danish... not sure on the numberplate scratch plate... great idea, but not me... maybe a bit gimmick.
  24. Nice Yamaha Bass n a book curtosy of @Reggaebass... and so the journey begins... Enjoy!
