  1. Mike bought a box o’ bits from me. Excellent transaction, deal with confidence! Thanks, Colin
  2. This, maybe? I hawked an SVT3 pro around in a 2U version of something like this a lifetime ago, and it stood up to car/gig loading really well! https://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_rack_case_3u.htm
  3. Ah, this is a great thread! I’ve got an old Crafter acoustic bass (superb, despite being cheap ish!) suffering from exactly this ailment. Time to strip a tuner and get the calipers outs!
  4. Euw time, but had my lugs cleaned on Friday. Twice a year without fail. I use moulded plugs and for sure wax plus regular in ear use ends in blockage.
  5. First one of the year with the sideline, “hey it’s a gig”, covers band. An hour’s drive over lumpy Fen roads. Dep drummer (who was excellent) and last one with the outgoing singer. Rose & Crown, Manea, near(ish) to March. Band: 4 Play (ha ha etc). Seriously. I’m just the bass player, not my band. It was ok! We played well, though the guitarist is always a bit donkey strokes down up down up down up down up so the dynamics are never as lively as they need to be. Seems they have a regular crowd for gigs and a few musos among them. Some nice comments on my playing, tone and BVs which was cool! A few weeks off and then it all goes mental busy with both bands again. Excellent. My fingers are aware they haven’t gigged since early January 😆 EDIT: my bad, gear! Angelina this evening, the ‘burst Dimension. I will be buried with both of my Dimensions. Gallien Krueger RB700II into Barefaced Big Baby 2 Gen 3. The speaker simply makes the upstream sound very audible with no colouration. Having spent many years throwing humbuckers into GK amps, you don’t want to colour that, it’s done.
  6. My YOB bass. None more 70s really. Microtilt, white blocks, black scratchplate and natural ash body. This is beautiful, and if I find the money 😆 I’ll be in touch.
  7. That’s perfect. Just: wow. Looks like it’s strung with D’Addario Chromes?
  8. Noice. One of the best looks for a pedal that I’ve seen. Very cool! Pics when it’s in situ….
  9. Tidy work that photographer! Love the purple P as well!!
  10. Hi mods… and chance please of removing the tag molesalemar23 from https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/476492-sold-box-of-stuff-that-i-dont-need-but-someone-might/#comment-4931615 - I forgot to do so when I marked it sold. Thanks!
  11. SOLD. £17 posted (RM 2nd class large letter), UK only. Selling other stuff too... search tag MoleSaleMar23 - happy to combine postage. No trades thanks! Box opened but bag intact, a year or so old. 45, 65, 85, 105, 135 long scale nickel round wounds.
  12. SOLD £25 posted (RM 2nd class small parcel), UK only. Selling other stuff too... search tag MoleSaleMar23 - happy to combine postage. No trades thanks! All or nothing, no splits. Some stuff that might be of use to someone?! Onori (me neither) 2½“ leather strap. Used, in good condition. Decent enough - grippy. Adjusts from 120cm to 145cm. Goodmans CD walkman - cheap background music solution for between sets at your gig, esp. the pubs you wouldn't leave your phone unattended on the mixer! Plays MP3s burnt to disc too. Mains/rechargeable battery/dry cell battery. Actually really good for a walkman! PSU/charger included, but no batteries. Chops Play hand conditioner / pH balancer. Used. Decent set of Chrome strap buttons from a Yamaha BB. Schaller straplock spares, well used first edition. One flat washer + nut missing. One of the buttons is not a Schaller - it fits the straplock but the screw hole is slightly too small to accept the usual Schaller screw. No felt washers. Keyser KDS100 string cleaner / extender. Used. D'Adaddario XLR8 string lubricant and cleaner. Used. Korg BT-2 desktop tuner. Old school swingy needle fella - no LEDs here! In and out sockets, PP3 battery only (cover present and clips in properly), tunes 4, 5 and 6 string with normal/flat option. Backlit, but not dazzingly so at this age :-). Ernie Ball Wonder Wipes string cleaning swab. Bass hardware: three pots... 6mm shaft, made in Japan, unused and probably 20 years old - no reason to suspect they don’t work but equally no way to test them (I’ve scratched “LIN” on the back of the B250k, I guess the other two are log); one mono jack barrel socket; one stereo jack barrel socket; 116cm of mini twin core + screen cable, 2½ mm diameter; four 16mm pickup springs; one round nickel string tree; two random well-chewed strap buttons; screws and washers. Two generic/no name leather 2½“ straps, lightly used. No longer adjustable - sewn to a fixed length of 133cm hole to hole.
  13. £65 posted (RM Tracked 48 small parcel, insured), UK only. Selling other stuff too... search tag MoleSaleMar23 - happy to combine postage. No trades thanks! Excellent digital delay pedal. Nine delay types Stereo / mono Does a bit of looping! Hold down footswitch - it mutes, and you can play the tempo in from your bass Supports TonePrint loading via phone / USB + laptop 9v DC power only, standard Boss 2.1mm centre negative, 100mA No box. Hook velcro on bottom This does a ton of stuff really well - worth having a read of TC's manual for this, really explains the functions well: Manual TC Electronic product page
  14. If you want the nuclear option, Peterson StroboStomp. Always on, or bypass it, with or without buffer. Massive overkill really but (for electric, I have no idea about db!) when setting intonation after a restring and setup it’s indispensable
  15. Agreed. A shade under 4:1 sounds best to my ears too. It really is a great thing. I use a C4 synth so it can get a bit unruly at times. The Keeley plus a HPF saves my speaker from the worst of it!
  16. I’ve just nipped out so I can buy a hat and take it off to you… amazing!!
  17. Jamie bought a Roland USB / DIN MIDI thingy from me (probs not unrelated to the above feedback 😃). Excellent. Immediate payment… thanks for another great Basschat transaction!
  18. No idea, but a cache / cookie clear might help?
  19. Agreed. I’ve tried to love my GK MB500 because it’s tiny and light, but I still schlep my RB and flight case to rehearsals and gigs. Not valves admittedly, but a nice big iron analogue old school EQ and gain/power stage that sounds ace.
  20. Roland UM-ONE-MK2 USB/MIDI interface £20 inc. postage (mainland UK only). Got some 5 pin DIN MIDI gear that you need to connect to your laptop / other USB thing? Here's what you need. Unused, seem to be around £44ish new so £20 posted (Royal Mail 2nd class jiffy bag). 5 pin DIN in and out with 700mm of cable, USB A with 1200mm of cable on the other end. No box. Requires driver, see downloads page for available Windows and Mac drivers. So I guess it's not class compliant. Manual. Thanks!
  21. Round of applause to all hands here. Was just on to post a “what soldering iron to get, mine’s terrible” and here we go. Much to absorb. Good work
  22. Technically yes, but in practical terms the days of appliances causing fuses to blow are largely gone - “stuff” is less prone to faults that induce large current influx compared to when the existing plug top and fuse came into being. One of the fuse’s functions is to protect the appliance’s cable from burning out if the appliance tries to pull more than its cable is rated for, eg in a fault condition. Because I’m old school, I always fit a fuse that’s rated above the appliance’s max draw (dur) but below the cable’s capacity. If I’m making a mains extension eg 6 or 8 gang, I use 1.5mm cable that’ll carry 16amps and fuse at 13. My bass amp’s kettle lead is fused at 5amp but can handle 10amp etc
  23. 1mm is fine. Typically, an IEC is normally only rated for 10am anyway IIRC
