Brian Johnson - AC/DC: hearing woes
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to colgraff's topic in General Discussion
They will use someone to finish off the tour apparently . After that, I think the writings on the wall , and they should call it a day . No idea, but only 2 spring to mind : steve soussa( I think that's his name? Exodus frontman )and the vocalist from airborne .( spellchecker issues) -
Believe it or not , since going to my first gig in '79, I can only think of 2 .. Or 3 at a push . 1) iron maiden , metal for muthas gig Lyceum 1979. Can't remember how many encores they did ( more than 2) . Di'anno was screaming at the sound guys to turn it up even louder . Even some of the muthas had enough. Bit too uncomfortable. 2) manowar ( snigger;) ) Blow your speakers tour hammy odeon 1987(?) Full Marshall stack . Not for show. They used them . Halfway back in the stalls, sound was great , despite the volume. 3) Motörhead ace up your sleeve tour , hammy o 1980. I had the flu , but saw 2 of the 4 gigs there . Lemmy passing my friend vodka with a tiny it if orange juice didn't help. Deaf for all of the next day . Anybody else ?

Brian Johnson - AC/DC: hearing woes
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to colgraff's topic in General Discussion
IMHO , there are everyday things other than music, that are potentially worse . For example; in a loading bay where "builders" chuck metal objects on concrete floors from their lorries. Trying to talk to the security staff on the other side of the reception desk , without using too many expletives is very difficult .? That is actually worse than having a drummer hitting his/ her foot pedals when you are on your knees setting up your equipment ( and theirs , which explains the kneeling down;) ) -

How do you listen to music ?

Lots of comments to read = another good thread;) Changing times, circumstances&getting old means I listen to stuff mainly when commuting. I have a seperate system in my flat, but it is literally seperate. Not used since I got a Bluetooth sound bar in the living room for my telly. I do have another system , which comprises ceiling speakers( bedroom& tiny hallway)/ CD player./ amp. I recently started using it again while in the bath, but now I've seen this thread will use a lot more. Interesting thing about this system, is that CDs not remastered sound good. I sometimes listen to stuff through my studio monitors in my spare room also. Must change my iTunes playlist .... -
I admire all of you on this thread. I haven't got the talent unfortunately . One thing at the back of my mind , was to learn how to draw/ paint. Then the idea , was to make my own t shirts. Screenprinted of course;) On a slight tangent ; one of my favourite ever t shirts I bought years ago , was a cartoony animal band. They were a punk band having beer glasses chucked at them . Etc. Would reproduce a similar one if I had your talents

I had a stiletto elite 5 . My one and only 5 string at the time. Regret selling . 10 a penny in the states , but not so in the uk. I bought it at the wrong time TBH . At the time I was in 2 bands, not enough time to learn a 5 string .Then I was broke ... This one looked the part , and was good for metal;)
I think if you read FlatEric's blog, you'll find that they didn't - Reeve did, on a commission for them. Fascinating story so far and I'm looking forward to the next part.
Thanks for clearing

Double Albums That Work and the One That Don't
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to spectoremg's topic in General Discussion
Master of puppets was released as a double album. The single album had a terrible scratching noise all the way through it. Does this count ? -

Don't like the buzzard ones -
I had an alligator combo years ago. Didn't know they made basses. I thought it was amplification only . Interesting

Love sparks . one of the very first singles I ever bought was amateur hour . They were great on top of the pops. They were known as the weird band at school . People couldn't dance to them then , but they were different . Got the first couple of albums, and a greatest hits cd. I even like some of the disco stuff. Saw them at the Astoria a couple of times. If they played shepherd 's bush I saw them there as well. ( memory lapse), Remember the gorgeous female percussionist and the bass player who came on for a couple of songs at the end. Also, 'Ronald ' keyboard;) etc. Album wise, a bit patchy for me . I've got hello young lovers , and gratuitous sax and violins. Good albums .

New Status Graphite models (slipknot)
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to cocco's topic in Bass Guitars
I prefer the old status headless tbh s2 etc. This is not unlike a kubicki , which is a cool bass. -
My first couple of gigs were more or less the same lineup as yours Sounds good. Have a blast
Images have probably expired, the thread was started in 2009
Ah, that explains it . Thank you
