1. Elvis Costello knows someone .
2. After hearing ' neck dive', it looks like reluctantly , I will pass on this ;(
3. Bloody hell Karl ! I'm going back to 1997. My self and my friend ended up,in Bruges unexpectedly . We just managed to stay at the 'walberg' hotel, which was not due to open for another 2 weeks at the time . Great people . If it was ziggis, then they were playing some mellow ambient music at the time , and apparently that was'french radio'.( I think the bar may be called Charlie rockets ) Ramble over. it's a good job a lot of folk are not too keen on yellow basses. It will probably be gone by Friday , if I don't make my mind up .
4. Yes, it's good for metal . I'm trying to be sensible regarding my bass collection. When I sold my telebass, I said I'd wait till I get some money due I anytime in the next 18-24 months and get a decent headless ,or a kubicki . That would be it . However, I have 3 headed basses ( including the one in m avatar ). I can't see myself being in bands again TBH . As much as I love metal, I haven't the hair and I too old to be playing it in pubs IMHO, I've just got memories of me being in this bar in Bruges many years ago. It had lots of collectible guitars on the wall . One was a zz top bass autographed. Very pointy like this . This bass would look great in a glass display case . If I got this , it'd be hanging on the wall , and obviously played . I'm torn! The dean taxi bass , looks more mature and more country/ blues etc. This Washburn rawks!
5. Thanks for your suggestions .( keep em coming). I'm after something , a bit smaller than a full size bass bag/ case ,but not the stick bass size . Trust me to buy awkward basses;) Even status have sold out of their headless size (s2?) for now ... Something coffin shaped maybe? I dunno
6. Well..I'm watching it . Really considering buying it and replacing my dean taxi bass. I'm a headless guy, but this just rocks ! Karlifer , I am saying a few expletives in your direction
7. Steinberger ( full body) xm2, and Washburn status . The original gig bags I have for both, are on their last legs. Help please
8. Ah yes nearly 2 years ago . Kaossilator pro , is what I'll be getting . Cheers bt
9. Haven't got a link, but you tube is probably the way to go. Gear wire do a good demo .
10. Thanks linear. The kaos pad is in the same series. It can be used with a kaossilator pro. The kaossilator is synthy. I have seen bass plugged into it. Apparently , you can record loops and overdub. I may pull the trigger and buy one on the bay . The small ones look too fiddly . Not quite what I'm looking for
11. Is that the correct spelling ? I've been thinking of getting one I and off for a couple of years. You pube clips look good . Thinking of plugging bass in and have some fun . Advice please Cheers;)
12. It's so easy to use, even I have recordings on there. Shame . Don't want to go to something more fiddly .
13. I really love the look of this bass. Unfortunately , I'm sticking with headless basses,so cannot buy this as it won't be used ., Bump
14. There are loads lmho . (Quo, Maiden,ac/dc etc.) I've just been listening to anthrax's later stuff. Another metal band I know . I know what I'm getting , but they're still giving it some and it's still sounding good .
15. Great advice from all of the above . My opinion? Don't think about the bass for now. Get on with your life . Don't sell your stuff. Wait a while, and see if you notice anything missing. Btw ; regarding the girlfriend . Were you going through a sticky patch at one time ? Sorry if I'm asking the Wong question . A good friend of mine was engaged to someone Ho was actually resenting him playing . To his friends, we got the impression that she encouraged his playing. But, behind closed doors it was the opposite . He has been in loads of bands and is an awesome player. He married somebody else in the end . Lucky escape . Good luck in what you decide
16. TBH , I don't really know what the title of this post should be . Anyhow: I saw a band mentioned in the metro (Toy), about a year or so ago. I checked out of few vids on you pube , and I thought they had promise. A touch of prog and psychedelia here and there ( nothing original ) ,but I thought they had potential. However, I'm just listening to one of their albums on Spotify and I'm disappointed. Let's just say that, if I paid for the cd ( I still buy some ), I wouldn't have been happy. What's the main problem ? The vocals ! The guy sounds like he's gonna top himself because he can't find his winning lottery card . Or maybe the girlfriends found a sugar daddy . My god , he makes morrissey sound cheerful . I'm too old to see them anyway Got me thinking ; has anyone been disappointed in a band in a similar situation ? I'm just going to change albums ...
17. Of course a little confusing .
18. I have a kustom combo. Brilliant for what it is . Has a cd input also. Very loud , and handles a five string brilliantly . Got mine brand new in a part exchange for a peavy amp in Sudbury . Btw: the cube amp looks tempting , and the you pube demos are rather good . If I never had seperate effects units I would buy that .
19. Before thread is closed, could someone advise me if this is good for recording stuff on to sound cloud ? ( using rca or USB jack sockets) Congratulations on the sale
20. Rush - hemispheres ? King diamond - Abigail Pete namlook - 4 seasons ( heavy going, prefer edited single album) Pete namlook& klaus schulze - dark side of the moog ?
21. The people you expect to be there aren't . The people you least expect to be there' are .
22. Maybe the me-50b? Less technical than most .
23. Yours looks great Matt I believe new , the rrp was about £1600. They can go for less than £1000. I love the look of the green one (the blue and red ones before them are nice too). Unfirtunately for me , I'm used to headless , so I won't get one . Btw; I think the latest one looks horrible (I was talking about the stereo / drop d basses;) )
24.
When it comes to U2, Mr Clayton is not the problem.
Spot on !
