Looping & sampling question
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
Thanks zenitram. I'm glad you understood my question. I thought I had everyone baffled . Looks like I'll have to get a jam man , and then an akai . Or , the Roland thingy I asked fr in the wanted section -
I have a couple of loopers hardly used. I have had an idea in my head, that won't go away . What I want to do, is to record bass loops ,,then load onto some pads ( akai mpk , or similar ?) . So, for some easy fun ( nothing technical ) , I want to be able to have some drum pads pre programmed . I then want a couple of empty pads for me to put my own bass loops/ general samples etc. The idea being, I would have just have to press a pad with the sound/ loop I want and record it With the digitech jam man , it has an s d sound card feature. Does this mean I could record my bass ( or any loop ) onto the sound card . Then , take sound card out of jam man and put it into a sample pad ( akai mpk?) . This would mean I would be able to just press the pad and sound that I recoded should be heard? Please advise . If this works, I will put my boss and ditto loopers up for sale . Cheers

Thanks Bert . Poxy spellchecker ! Anyway, it's a drum pad / sampling thingy. -
Great amp . I only downsized mine, to a combo. Wish I kept it . It will easily sell , if you have to .

Like the idea of sampling . Not too difficult etc. Cheers

I must say ,that although there are some very helpful you pube clips here, they have almost put me off of keyboards. Sorry. They've done me a favour. Sorry charic, but if I were you, I'd just chill out at the back with the keys that yo have, and join another metal band. Maybe , you could put a whammy bar on your bass?

Don't forget the sound . I got rid of my Hohner professional headless. Great feel etc. I could even slap a bit on it . But, the sound was muffled . Steinberger so on the other hand- perfect sound but expensive. I ce got an xm-3 full bodied one. If I was in the o p position, I'd be after the synapse , mentioned here the other day .

Alternatively , you could strap the bass back on , get a couple of synth type effects and do away with keyboard . Or, play bass & get a keyboardist

It was half fretted / half fretless. We're they any good?!we're not talking Billy Sheehan quality playing here , but possibly 2 basses in one Anybody done it ?

Saw a fretted version of my vester fretless bass. On there at the moment . Been relisted. Asked buyer if he wanted to do a buy it now price .( I was thinking£250) He gave me long winded answer. Next day , and wanted £350-400. T oo expensive IMHO . Nobody has bid yet . £200 starting price . 2 days left . If I bid £250 I have a feeling games will be played . Your thoughts ??

RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to Japhet's topic in General Discussion
Will be the winery dogs on Sunday . I hate gigs on Sunday's because of London transport issues. They were gonna play Shepherd's Bush , and my friend was happy to drive me there. It got moved to Kentish Town , where my friend was reluctant to take his car . I was gonn bail out , but I am going now . -
Good deal . I have a full body steinberger , and already have s gk combo , so I'll pass. Bloody gas!

I've just sold a telecaster Bass. I was at my most broke ever . I will be getting some spare cash within about 18 months , then I can buy a new 'expensive bass '. Sell if you really really have to ( ie no money for food for the momth etc).

Yngwie malmsteen , hates that kind of stuff with a passion.Apparently , he personaloses everything he signs . A few years back , at a gig he headlined at the hammy O , he threw a guitar into the crowd. Me and my friend caught the body. I let m friend have it . He received a lot of abuse from malmsteens fans on their fan club website . He did sell it eventually I think. He got malmsteen to sign it also
I'm not concerned about such things but can see why the OP is. A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to buy a Lemmy signature 4004 bass and confess that when he died I found myself wishing that I had bought it because the value had probably risen sharply in the short term.
I used to always go to the Notting hill record & tape exchange in the 80/90s. One Saturday morning , one of the guys behind the counter showed me a ric, that was supposed. To be one of lemmys for sale . They wanted £1000 for it . 1) it didn't feel playable 2) was it lemmys ?? 3) I couldn't afford it . 4) that shop was a rip off most of the time ,)

I suppose it all depends really . The seller may get a couple of hundred for it IMHO . The description wouldn't show on my iPhone for some reason. I've always been a fan of metal ( and ambient ). As a kid , I was a collector , more by accident . When I was playing my older brothers vinyl, it had the box shape lp cover, it was an original pressing , original inner sleeve etc. Buying the same thing news few. Years later, all of that was missing . The pressing was crap etc. I was a huge fan of iron maiden . Saw them around 20 or so times . I found a copy of their very first release , which I could only get by post.(£1.20) Because my tastes changed/ not playing vinyl anymore/ and being really broke , I sold it on eBay for £370.result. I met Metallica in shades record shop one lunchtime . Got severely told off by my bosses . They signed a white label test pressing , which I paid £1.2o in Camden market . Because cliff died , i got over a grand for that and the poster . Still a fan , but it made sense to sell at ghe time 12 years ago.' When pic discs came out , they were rare . When CDs came out , I sold the pic discs. Being poor, from a working class background , sometimes you're forced to sell.

Person buying my expensive bass
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
why did you sell it? now you'll have to buy another one.... or two
Feels odd now it's gone .sold it due to a couple of large bills . I'm trying to hold fire - for now I will , if I want , but an expensive bass to make up for it in a few months . Now , staying disciplined is the hard part -
Does this B string sound dead to you?
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to therealting's topic in Bass Guitars
Yeah. Maybe you have to do a little truss rod adjusting
