1. Well, I was working in soho in the mid'80s onwards(who said spanking the monkey! ) I bought my first 'proper bass in '88. Of course, I was running before I could walk. I was getting the American guitar mags, and a couple of videos(Rudy Sarzo,Stu Hamm etc.) Me and a couple of friends were regulars in tin pan alley. Flea/claypool weren't around then, and as a metalhead I despised level42(of course mk is awesome) I was trying the 'new tricks' Slapping, piano style,2 handed tapping. And to be honest ,I was useless at all that . And yes,I did impersonate scaffolding falling on top of corrugated iron sheets . Nice stuff if you can do it,but if you do,use sparingly (like precription drugs)
2. I use SWT daily from Twickenham -Waterloo. Not too bad(but then I leave real early) The last real problems I had ,was in the heatwave last year ,when on the way home, the trains were breaking down and diverting because of problem at Feltham. All week. When it comes to weekends, that's a different matter: I expect the trains not to run, but if they do, it's a bonus. (weekend rail works etc.) Also, in the last 2 weeks on a sunday, returning from Waterloo 'there is no driver'!! Plus there are only 4 carriages, right at the top of the platform, complete with bawling babies, prams, bikes etc. SWT are too hot imho on penalising people, when it's not the customers fault. Odd thing happened on Friday eve. btw: A beggar was walikng up and down the train begging. Why wasn't he escorted off the train? This was about 9.14.pm Also: I really ,really hate that bitch's patronising voice on the train! I've been on other trainlines, and the women's voices are more relaxed Rant over
3. what about the Badz Marou ones?? Are they any good?(these are broncos aren't they?)
4. cool setup
5. I used to be a fan of Cop Shoot Cop ,in the early 90's. They used to have a lot of 'alternative unconventional instruments' like hoover attachments etc.
6. Nice Now that you've got it back, all you have to do is make it the new pic on your avatar. (current avatar is good too by the way )
7. I was thinking of getting one myself, but don't think I could do rock covers with it.Have enough basses ,so don't really need it. I f I did,it would probably be red or something bright. I've seen them go for less than the top of this page. Maybe someone will take my eden combo in a straight swap.
8. yeah, saw'em today. I assume it's not a BC'R selling 'em soI'll say that I think that they are a little overpriced. I think the orange one's rarer than the rest. I would've said (condition considered) ,£700.00 for the other two and the orange one £1,200. I'm probably way off the mark. They look nice tho'
9. In june(22nd) last year,he made an enquiry about my Eden combo. If I remember correctly ,he did ask me what they were like, and he managed to get one on ebay. In July last year(21st-27th),he was selling a Vester clipper bass and I made enquiries about that. Think he sold it eventually. Not sure if it was on ebay or here. I didn't think there was anything dodgy about him, but I can only go from my experience(s) Hope this helps.
10. Well worth it! I'm keeping mine..have a bump
11. The mag should go (imho) .bi-monthly or it will cease to exist. If people can't fnd it readily available ,(apart from subscription) then noone will know about it. Same with the us mag.
12. It might be an idea to look into Triads (not the ruthless kind) ,scales etc. and if you can figure out what key the song is in,it should be easier. Scales of course ,as mentioned above always help
13. if you were in this neck of the woods,I'd recommend my Eden Combo for sale. Seriously loud! Sometimes, I find it good to change practice rooms now and again. It can make practicing more fun. Also, it irons out a ny flaws the band may have.
14. Will give it a try
15. Like using the Zoom pedal, but that noise is doing my head in. Sounds like I'm crushing a rodent with my foot.(which is very cruel) Should I use wd 40 or something? Please advise
16.
I'd bet it will help a lot more than any commercial moisturizer & it's 100% natural. Have you got a plant? A mate years ago working as a scaffolder used to always piss on his hands & rub it in, he said it was the only thing to stop your hands cracking, working outdoors all weather. Worth a try - wash your hands before playing though
That scaffolder ,sounds a bit like a p**taker...(gets coat)....
17. All of the above mentioned, are top notch quality basses You could possibly add an original Steinberger,to your list If you're gonna sell/buy equipment ,you'd do much better here than flea bay.
18. I've just been playing around on my,Kustom KBA 16 . A nice, cheap, fairly small practice combo. Maybe you want something like that.
