  1. No idea of the quality of these, but seems like a cheap way to dip your toe into the world of fretless.
  2. It's always a good idea to replace the seals while you've got the amp stripped down.
  3. It's a bit far for everyone. Even those who live there. 😂
  4. I'd love to see pictures of you have the time. (Apologies for the thread hijack. But it's kind of on topic 😆 )
  5. Well, if you're giving it away, my back is suddenly feeling a lot better. 😆
  6. I thought the same when I first started playing a sixer. I couldn't see me ever going back to a four string. Then I put my back out and literally couldn't even lift it. ( Mine weighs 14 pounds ) so had no choice. The think I've found though is that the time I spent with the six has made me a far better player on the four. My muting technique is much better, and I now use notes I wouldn't have even considered going for before. Lots of nice little runs and slides to get to the notes which were much more easily accessible on the six.
  7. Yup. Sounds familiar. I had a well worn Ibanez copy which was probably better built than the original. I traded it in for £50 against a guitar when I was about 18. What was I thinking?!
  8. Sounds like a compressor with the level turned up quite high. That would kill the initial loud slap of the note then phase back in as the volume decreases, causing the delay effect you're talking about.
  9. Me neither. But I quite like Rickenbackers. 😁
  10. They also fit perfectly into a laptop bag along with the cables for a fraction of the price if you don't need bullet proof protection. Good enough for throwing in the back of the car. 😉
  11. I almost posted this video myself a couple of days ago, but then I went to the bar and forgot about it. 😆 I enjoyed the build, and it looked and sounded pretty decent when it was finished.
  12. £350 starting bid. Means nothing with 4 days to go as most of the bidding is generally done in the last 5 seconds.
  13. Spotted this today which could be the perfect solution for me. Basically an XLR adapter with phantom power that plugs straight into a phone, tablet, laptop etc. So I can record with my phone, which has excellent video quality, but use a good quality mic to pick up the audio. Might be worth a punt at under £40. https://www.thomann.de/intl/tc_helicon_go_vocal.htm?i11l=en_GB%3ABG.GBP%3AEUR
  14. I was given this for Christmas by the in laws. I can kind of see where they were coming from, but I wouldn't dream of wearing it in public. It makes me look like an Oasis fan (can't stand them) or a cheap extra from Kevin and Perry. I might wear it in the pool in summer to keep the sun off, but on stage I'm happy to embrace the bald. I've been shaving my head since I was 25, so it's much more a part of my look than any hat. I'm strictly a beany when it's cold man.
  15. It's so small I can't see it. (Why do I get the feeling I've said that before somewhere?)
  16. I love it when that happens. I walked into practice a couple of weeks ago and said "I've got this bass riff going through my head. It's kind of surf rock meets The B52's". Then started playing the riff. The rest of the band joint in, including the singer with some ad-lib lyrics and it was exactly what I had in my head. I'm still constantly amazed by being able to create music with other people.
  17. It's not about the sound so much as the feel and longevity. A real set of Elixirs will last 5 times longer than uncoated strings and your fingers will thank you for it.
  18. I've been using the Harley Benton Airborne pro for about 2 years now for every gig and practice and it's worked flawlessly. Can't go wrong at the price. Also has the additional benefit of a built in tuner to save space on the pedal board. It actually works better than the tuner on my zoom B3. https://www.thomann.de/intl/harley_benton_airborne_pro_5.8ghz_instrument.htm?i11l=en_GB%3ABG.GBP%3AEUR
