  3. if you have side handles then you can just use a tea towel as a simple neck wrap and use it wipe the instrument or yourself as you exit stage left
  4. I think the instruments are actually built by Mensinger and they probably put the strings on, they don't list strings for sale on their website however, but may be able to supply or tell you what they are
  5. weird that, I don't know how many paying customers they have but I rarely get any adverts between songs now on the free version. so how does their business model actually work ? I buy both digital and vinyl from artists, most of what I listen to on spotify at work is stuff I have the vinyl of, a lot of it from the 70s and early 80s when I consumed a lot of music, read the weeklies and went to gigs.
  6. short scales seem to sell well here as it is; so many 5 strings list on here compared to Ebay where there aren't generally many over £1k 5 strings listed
  7. 2 is for the Fender Schallers late 60s to early 80s 3 is for Fender pre cbs Kluson style, which is what I think the Flea has a modern equivilent of 7 is for Mexican made fenders it is all to do with the screw placements, shaft size, length of paddles etc... if you want it to like original from the front you need to match the rest of the tuners the info is on their website hipshot bass extenders
  8. you could just hang that on the wall as is this was meant to be after the picture of the wood 3 hours ago
  9. the one pictured looks like it has only something like a 10mm adjustment range and most of them are pretty much at the limit with the strings that are on it
  10. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  11. Linky Gary Karr with Steve Bailey A Double Bass/Electric Bass Discussion & Demonstration just received email notification; those of you on the facebook group will already be aware
  12. Chris sold me his P Retro preamp as he finished thinning the heard and moving house, all good, and he threw in a PJ scratchplate and split the postage costs with me as he couldn't find the charger and adaptor; but don't worry Chris, John has the adaptor still in stock and can source/or point me to the right charging cable; he's got the pre in for a service and tidy up now. Top seller Chris, hopefully he will repeat the cycle in future and others will get the benefit of his good taste in gear Enjoy the music ps can't believe that no one in your family wouldn't want the acoustic guitar, seems too good to sell
  13. Dave sold me a NIB set of Gotoh Lollipop tuners, saving me a few £ on getting them from Thomann, quickly shipped and well packed easy transaction, top man
  14. The part numbers at the beginning, the two I was looking at are EP4185 and EP4385, in your case they are 250SS, if you have a CTS spec list they will be detailed in there, ctscorp.com, resistance, type, shaft type and length etc... Just have to hope that vendors keep their stock well sorted
  15. WD music also say Audio taper, they are high tolerance spec pot WD Music I was googling CTS pots earlier as 2 I was sent are different part numbers, turns out one is no load variant, not as high quality as the ones you have, it actually measures 291kOhm before going no load
  16. A quick Google finds this link which says they are Audio taper ebay link
  17. 1st 3 frets sounds like nut is cut a bit low, have you changed strings to something different ?
  18. I had to clearance the pickguard on mine too so they floated freely and could easily adjust height, odd they don't get that right it must be obvious when the plate and pickups are mounted
  19. A good number of us will be interested in the epoxy fingerboard part of the build; watching with interest
  20. Is this an evolution of the bridge design that @Sidlanir posted on here a couple of years ago ? evo4bridge
  21. I can see all the other photos just not the latest one, weird one but not important; same thing happens on the other forum I use sometimes, but then right click open in new tab does work, in this case it doesn't
  22. picture doesn't display and link doesn't work either for me using Edge browser in Win10
  23. I'm trying to understand why the Squier Classic Vibe Mustang Bass pickups and the Lollar Version A Mustang Bass pickups have the magnets centred at 22mm whereas the strings are roughly at 16mm centres at the pickup. The more trad style Version B Lollar Mustang pickup is bigger (I think matches the original pickup dimensions) but the poles are at just under 16mm centres. Also if anyone know if the 'Vintage' version of the Nordstrand MN4 fits the Squier pickup cover and if they have two small staggered magnets per string and at what centres that would be great. I've listened to the samples of the various Mustang pickups on the Talkbass thread which was useful. The varied information I have read suggests the Japanese reissue pickups may have been designed by Seymour Duncan. Nowhere that I have found is there a definitive what fits what guide and the mixing of imperial and metric measurements adds confusion. Many thanks
  24. it's not the same as that, pluck a single note and wait 1 second+ for it to come to pitch, makes setting the intonation a pain, then you play and you can't trust your technique because of it, so you recheck the intonation, check you haven't twisted the string etc.. don't have the issue with any other brand of ss strings I've tried
  25. Short scale rotosounds are known for ringing sharp then settling to pitch, I tried both the flats and the tapes, same issue with both, did some online searching and found a good string article on Scott Whitley's old site which confirmed it. The E was the worst for it, but to some extent all the strings did it.
