  1. I admire your dedication - I don't set aside time to practice apart from running through songs for the folk group I seem to have teamed up with. It's not long since I joined and I am still adapting my bass lines. Otherwise I play when I feel like it, sometimes every day, sometimes I barely touch a bass. I stopped playing at all for a few years so anything however sporadic is better than that!
  2. Rock music may have died for some people, I feel more like it's part of them that has died. I hear good new music all the time, maybe because I am open to new possibilities rather than closed off and cynical.
  3. Exactly! They all look the same so why pay more?
  4. My JB Special was almost as bad as that - it's worth trying to save that neck before buying another.
  5. I needed some for some Sennheisers which weren't available, I managed to find non-genuine ones on eBay for a few quid which are great. Perfect fit and decent quality, had to wait a while as they came from China.
  6. I have several, it's proper filth in my guitar room.
  7. Oh please don't @TheGreek I already have 2 B20s here and genuinely had to talk myself out of buying another last weekend.
  8. I say scratch plate but search for pick guard
  9. I just sold one, struggled to get £150 for it with some decent mods too.
  10. I asked about @Dood having such a high post count in the 'Things I don't understand' thread - apparently he is a pan-dimensional entity, or somesuch
  11. It's probably the easiest way to start, and you can always sell on the bits you don't want to recoup some of the outlay.
  12. Hartke HA3500 - has HPF at 100hz and LPF at 10k with +/-18db on each.
  13. Adrian is a great guy - and lives in cider country (Frome in Somerset)
  14. When I was around 10 years old my dad worked with Chas and Dave as a recording engineer at some gig in London. I managed to quite badly injure my finger (almost severed the tip of my right-hand middle finger - that would have made playing the bass unlikely) and they were incredibly caring as was the support act Natasha England I was looked after amazingly and sent a bunch of records as well as multiple phone calls over the next few weeks to check I was OK. Truly above and beyond as my mum just said to me on the phone. RIP Chas.
