Whenever I've needed to play in C I usually just kick a 5-string up a semitone. Saves having a huge jump between strings.

The Q5 is a budget model, but decent for what it is. I don't particularly like the tone of mine, or the string spacing but I think that's more my problem than one with the bass. Does anyone want to buy a Spector?

I am prepared to wager significant sums on it being a Q5 Pro - I have one here and have done loads of research.

I admire your dedication - I don't set aside time to practice apart from running through songs for the folk group I seem to have teamed up with. It's not long since I joined and I am still adapting my bass lines. Otherwise I play when I feel like it, sometimes every day, sometimes I barely touch a bass. I stopped playing at all for a few years so anything however sporadic is better than that!

Rock music may have died for some people, I feel more like it's part of them that has died. I hear good new music all the time, maybe because I am open to new possibilities rather than closed off and cynical.

My JB Special was almost as bad as that - it's worth trying to save that neck before buying another.

I needed some for some Sennheisers which weren't available, I managed to find non-genuine ones on eBay for a few quid which are great. Perfect fit and decent quality, had to wait a while as they came from China.
