1. Another Polytune user here, works well with my Rob Allen five string.
2.
I don't get, and have never gotten, the fuss about Warwicks. I know some people love them, but TO ME they're ugly, heavy, feel terrible, don't sound good... and you pay a considerable amount of money for the very dubious privilege of owning one.
Me too and I really want to like them, but to no avail. I've also owned 3 Ibanez SRs and while I got on with them well enough, I never really bonded with them. Maybe those 50s designs were right the first time.
3.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium: Dani Califormia Snow Charlie Desecration Smile Tell Me Baby 21st Century Readymade That's it - the rest is filler
Good call.
4. It depends where I am: ear buds with iPod on the bike; in built speakers in the computer (they're rather good); hi-fi in the lounge if listening to a cd. However, most of the music I listen to is on the radio and then it's mainly on the DAB or in the car. My band recently recorded 4 tracks in the studio and the mixes sound different dependent on what I use to listen, the best (to my ears) is on the hi-if.
5. I still do them and have done many, but I'm not a fan despite the, normally, better money. For weddings there's always so much hanging around, way more than a pub/club gig and I always feel like you're the hired help, which of course you are. The guests often feel like they have a right to make ridiculous demands merely because they were invited and you weren't. I prefer pub/club gigs where the punters are there for the music, not where the band are an adjunct to the day. However, I won't dismiss offers of functions out of hand and if you need to put food on the table, these gigs are the best way to achieve this. YMMV.
6. IIRC, if you look at the photos in library view (loads of large thumbnails) then hover your mouse over the thumbnail, a line of bars appears in the top left corner. Select this and then select share. The bottom option of these is the IMG code, this is the one you need to copy. Paste it directly into your post and Robert is you mother's brother. For the mobile version, you'll find the code (once you've selected the individual picture) in the i within a circle (far left on the bottom) icon.
7. Another vote for custom moulded earplugs. I've had my Elacins for years, which I bought for tinnitus, best investment ever.
8. I see my namesake, Adam Ben Ezra, has been added to the main stage for Sunday. If only I shared his talent too
9. I look at new content (all forums) pretty much everyday, so any new things on the market are right there before my eyes. Personally, I like to be able to look at high priced porn and bargain basement stuff at the same time. Yes you could sub divide the various market places again, but the need for this sounds a bit like a 'first world problem' to me. However, maybe if folks put the price in the title it could make a quick perusal of what's on offer, based on price, easier.
10. 'Twas ever thus. To be fair, I've sold only a couple of basses that I shouldn't have and I can still properly justify the sale of one of them. Guitars on the other hand...well that's another story, the dumbest sale/swap of which (and there are many) would be my Yamaha SA2000 for an Ibanez Roadstar, especially as I really wanted a Tele
11. I emailed Adrian earlier today just to remind him that I wanted it strung with flats. I just received this reply: "Hello, your bass would be ready next week and will come with the next delivy, I think 2-3 weeks," Talk about bang on schedule. Excitement levels at Ez Towers just went through the roof! I think I need a lie down
12. Well that was a hard choice, but made it is. Well done to all.
13. I recently bought the Polytune clip tuner; very impressive.
14. Copy the IMG code ( ) which is found in the share option and paste it onto your post.
15.
Check out Paul Rodgers - Muddy Water Blues. There's some quite heavy interpretations of some classic blues numbers on there.
Great minds think alike And at the same time too.
16. Wow! You have picked a widely ranging genre. However, with your further description, the previously mentioned Cream, Free, Zep, Jeff Beck Group are all good sources. I would also do a YouTube or Spotify search for "Muddy water blues Paul Rodgers full album" as that album features an awful lot of different, although still 'heavy', styles due to the variety of guitar players involved, including Slash. Plus, it's Pino on bass, so wins all round.
17. Wowsers! That seems a bit of alright. Congrats.
18.
Aye... I wonder how the WoT family would feel about a holiday in Germany this year...?
It's where all the smart people go on vacation, surely?
19. Oh my word, it's positively raining new Maruszczycs on BC. Congrats to one and all, you lucky lot. As for Adrian's shop, I've never seen so much bass stock! Wow, just wow!
20. SO MUCH MARUSZCZYK PORN!!!! I'm loving it; roll on March.
21. Ooh, it's all happening in this thread all of a sudden. That all black looks stunning, cocco.

Why Fret?

I did one myself, which wasn't bad at all. I've also had one does professionally by The Gallery which was awesome. DIY only cost me in the plastic wood I used to fill the slots, glass paper and time. The pro job was just over £100 including a set of La Bellas, but that was while back. Worth it? You betcha (both times).
23.
So 10 weeks after my order was placed is officially tomorrow!!!!
Now the, "When, when, when?" thoughts really ramp up. I'm just 5 weeks in and I'm trying to remain calm, but I did start ogling my photo mock up yesterday.
I need to stop checking my emails every couple of minutes! And reading this thread too
Any word?
24.
Interesting right-hand technique too... he seems to alternate between anchoring the thumb and plucking with i and m, and anchoring with a and/or the little finger and plucking with p and i (and probably m). Nice!
I liked that too. Ultimately, use what works when you need it. No technique is off limits.
25.
Rick porn is the equivalent of a "grab a grot night" - you all need to go to Specsavers"
I did and I still bought one, it 'spoke' to me. Hmm, maybe I should've bought a hearing aid too
