1.
Sounds like a good choice ! Pictures are of course are politely insisted upon
Yup, you know the rules, no pics = never happened
  2. I had a 4 string Basic P/M. Cracking build quality and hardware. I only sold it as I was going all 5 string. Guess what I'm currently doing; going back to 4!
  3.
Your are quite right. The perils of trying to use a phone for bass chat instead of a proper computer... More photos of the original Strat in question can be found here.
I knew I'd seen that mod before.
  4. Mark Egan thinks they're OK, that's a pretty sound endorsement. EDIT: unintended pun
  5.
Wednesday morning BUMP for the most excellent Fender bass ever!
Fixed How is this still here?
  6. Typical, the year I decide not to go and....
Lots of double basses
Probably just as well
  7. Exciting times...
  8.
If its a bottom of neck truss rod which way do you turn it to raise the strings?
Looking at it from the bridge, righty tighty, lefty loosey. You'll want to go left to counteract the back bow (letting the strings pull the head up). However, any buzzing beyond the 9th/10th fret will be down to the saddles being too low.
  9. That's just greedy, hand over one of those to me immediately, you'll thank me in the long run.
  10. Shipping information received, cue endless checking of the Fedex website.
  11. We used to do it when playing Hall & Oates', I Can't Go For That, as that would start with a drum groove, followed by me and everyone joining one at a time after that; it sort of made sense. However, we haven't been playing that song, so haven't done any 'meet the band' shenanigans unless someone has had a particularly up front performance in a particular song. I think the band intro is a nice thing to do as it is a moment for the audience to appreciate particular members of the band who might not otherwise get any recognition, particularly the rhythm section (unless they sing lead vox as well).

Blimey O'Reilly, Schnozzalee! You have quite the collection there; tasty.
  13.
People keep asking about the making of these basses are they from a factory.... Etc... I came across this video about the workshop on you tube.. Might be of some interest.. And answer some questions.. http://youtu.be/OmTP1Sbf5Qo
I'm genuinely blown away by that. I was expecting a CNC machine and much less work by hand. I feel very lucky to be getting one of their instruments and at such a good price for the work involved.
  14.
Wargh! FedEx have now changed my delivery date from today to, "pending". Probably be Tuesday at the earliest now. Flippin' FedEx,
That sucks. Still awaiting my 'shipped' email (funds need to clear I guess). I dreamt that it was delivered last night; am I excited? Could be.
  15. An Ibanez SR505 will cost around £525 new and even less used. This one at GG is a Japanese model, so expect better spec. Distance selling, 7 day try out period. http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars_detail.asp?stock=PX151224291842001
  16. Ooh, I forgot, Rob Allen basses.
  17. There are lots out there. As BassBus asked, budget is key. I had an Ibanez GWB35 that was very nice, but they make a more expensive version with 'better' woods and hardware (it's all subjective of course), the GWB1005. Then there is the Pedulla Pentabuzz. And then there is... the list could be quite extensive.
  18.
Holy crap! Text from FedEx saying expected delivery on Thursday morning.
Ooh, exciting times! I had Mrs Ez transfer the funds today (I should've paid for it all up front with the crap rate of exchange at the mo) so I'm guessing delivery next week sometime for me.
  19. Two lovely S fakers back to back; you are spoiling us.
  20.
@ezbass:Your Jay Bass is a Looker too. Goes a little bit in the oposite Direction. "Reduce to the Max", or is it Active 2-Band? Anyway. Have Fun with your new Basses.
Totally passive with series/parallel/single coil switch. Now the wait for the funds to be transferred and the delivery to happen.
  21.
They had at least 2 other hits - "I refuse" and "Looking for Linda" - the first is brilliant, the second a piece of sh*te...
They passed me by completely.
  22.
BARGAIN!!!
And then some; blimey! Best signature bass Fender ever built IMO.
  23.
I love the way it actually looks like it's got teeth.
That's exactly it. It looks like a real mean MF.
  24.
What are the 3 pot for in your stingjay? Is it volume treble/bass?
Vol, tone, 3 way switch: series, parallel, single coil. It's all passive.
  25. The sofa shot has arrived! It's a 'Jay bass.
