  1. No problem, you’re welcome. With my fat fingers, it’s a bit of an issue hitting the blob to the left of the thread title, which takes you to the last unread, regardless of the account setting. Therefore, finding a sausage finger solution was paramount.
  2. In account settings…
  3. Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me - Slade
  4. Shotgun Blues - SRV
  5. Sound of Silence - Simon & Garfunkel
  6. It Must Be Love - Labi Siffre/Madness
  7. Thank you very much. You called? Ooh! My sock is on fire!
  8. I Don't Remember - Peter Gabriel
  9. This ^^^^
  10. Mmm, tasty.
  11. Some top skills in evidence there. I can see children’s TV snapping you up. The Pistols’ video is very clever.
  12. Since You’ve Been Gone - Rainbow
  13. Looks like he’s raided an Ibanez Musician for the parts and built something that doesn’t have the gravitational pull of a dying sun. I saw HT a couple of times in the Morrissey/Mullen band in the ‘80s, he was great.
  14. Quality response. Kudos, Mrs Ped. 😆
  15. One of his many build threads, but this deals extensively with truss rod replacement and neck repair That’s an extreme version, but just adding a washer, or maybe two, to add a little more back bend is a tried and trusted method. I had to add one to my Fender Roscoe Beck Signature when I first acquired it to reduce the amount of relief to the flatness I wanted. I had to ream out a washer I had to make it fit, like the guy says at the start of the video.
  16. That's all very poor. Not good service at all. Thanks for the clarification. Any chance of naming and shaming?
  17. Did the bass come with a long/lifetime warranty? If it didn’t, expecting it to be sorted out 5 years down the line, after 4 years of trouble free use, might be asking a bit much from the builder’s point of view. Did SIMS say it had been made badly at all? We all, myself included, want ongoing, trouble free ‘mileage’ from our instruments but, unfortunately, sometimes things just fail and we have to get them fixed. I’m not having a go, BTW, just looking for a bit more insight/playing devil’s advocate.
  18. I bought a JMJ earlier in the year and, as stated above, it comes with flats as standard. I later fitted some EB cobalt flats, which I think suited it better. I then went for some rounds, which sounded good to, but I’ve gone back to the cobalts as I think they’re the best fit for my ears.
  19. IIRC that’s the horn attenuator control.
  20. When I’m Cleaning Windows - G Formby
  21. It was not, I was being controlled and sensible (for a change). An old fashioned turn of phrase certainly, I’m not sure why I used it.
  22. Colour me unsurprised. They’re all good, you lucky duck.* *Ezbass flounces off in a jealous funk
  23. Caught up in the problem rather than the fix. When I used to fix office equipment for a living, I’d often end up down a rabbit hole and need a fresh of eyes to look at it and say, “It’s that.” The BC hive mind is probably the best thing about BC, I’m glad to have been of service on this occasion. As mentioned above, an appropriately tied bandana is another option.
  24. It depends what you’re wanting from it. Each of them does something different and if that’s the thing you’re looking for it’s the best. After reading @MGBrown’s comment, I went back and had yet another listen and the low down, solid sound of the G&L is beguiling, I really like it (it’s not unlike my Mustang, which I’m massively in love with currently). I like the ‘Ray for the added bit of nasal midrange that makes it sit well, but still stand out (if that makes sense) in that track. The Celinder, unsurprisingly, has elements of both the ‘Ray and the G&L due to its J bass DNA, which, to my ears, makes it less distinctive. Ultimately, as I opened with, it’s down to what you’re looking for, which leads to each of them being the best for a given set of parameters. If I heard any one of them on a recording or in a live setting, my ears would be happy.
