  1. A very cool bass you have there, it certainly won't hold you back and it should encourage you to pick it up more often (an often overlooked criteria when it come to a first instrument). As you'll know, Brighton has a very vibrant music scene. As things start to open up more, don't be afraid to get stuck in down there.
  2. Bought Mickey's exceptionally well priced Richard Thompson book on Thursday afternoon, just arrived at my door in the Scottish Highlands. Easy transaction, very quickly dispatched and received. Thank you, my good man.
  3. I'll have that, PM coming your way.
  4. +1 This should be of interest as pre charging seems the sensible way forward for all sellers (at least large organisations).
  5. Flowers in the Rain - The Move
  6. Oh yeah, I’d seen that one. I thought there were even more developments. Phew!
  7. Shan’t and won’t, either time! ✋
  8. You know that this is BC right? We thrive on nonsense. I look forward to the latest update in your band’s audition thread.
  9. Pearl’s a Singer - Elkie Brooks
  10. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) - Green Day
  11. Talk is Cheap is a great album. I’d forgotten all about it (I had it on vinyl, all of which was given away).
  12. We like Andy. Plainly doesn’t bear a grudge and sounds more your type of player.
  13. That was immediate thought; very dapper. I hope I look as good when I'm 80 and can still go on tour* (medical procedures notwithstanding). *Not that I ever have, but I remain hopeful.
  14. What @DawnPatroller said.
  15. Some of us have over 2.6k to go, which should stop me posting random rubbish to gain quotes and likes. However...
  16. Steve Jordan has the deepest pocket, he’s so good. A perfect dep for Charlie. Daryl Jones is going to love it (I assume he’s still has the Stone’s bass chair). Check out Steve Jordan’s work with the John Mayer Trio; sublime.
  17. I had an RB4 exactly the same as your one. Fantastic sounding bass, none better IMO. If the nut width had been more P like, I’d still have it I reckon.
  18. The Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson
  19. LaBella nylon wrapped strings would help get that sound nailed.
  20. A similar effect can be had with more neck relief and a higher action too. Also, limiting the amount of vibrato applied and not sliding into notes will reduce what is normally considered to be the fretless sound.
  21. Very nice, Sir. If only there were some website, not unlike BC, that was for guitars and has a Tele Tuesday thread, where you could display this fine piece of work.
  22. Given where you are, take a visit to Guitar Guitar in either Glasgow or Edinburgh (or both) and try a few back to back.
  23. 2/3 of an easy selling price is the best you can expect. GG are no different from most retailers in this respect. They don’t see that they’re making a profit on the instrument that you buy, they want it on everything. It’s their business and that’s the way it is, plus they have 20% VAT to consider and probably free delivery, if ordered online. Commission sales are the way to go IMO if you can’t move it here or elsewhere.
  24. Start with the sofa first.
