3. Ashdown rocks! Any ABM head will do the job but if you are looking for the EB180 combo again then, Mev Taylors music shop Edinburgh has one, Chris, who owns the shop, is a great guy and will do his best to make you happy. http://www.mevtaylors.co.uk/ andy ps, should have said; it is in great condition and sounding fabby!
4. Will be when the Chinese ones appear! Ordered mine 3 weeks ago. Where did you see the 2x12 and 1x12 cabs? andy
5. I had the older tko 115 series - it was great! Again, its peavey, no frills solid bass gear that just works. andy

Changing?

I own a lovely Ampeg SVT 810e cab. It is one year old, brand new nick and has sat in my practice room for all of that time. Never gigged and used for two hours per week. I am now thinking that this cab needs to be used and gigged however, probably not by me - not gigging and nothing on the horizon......plus at 43 I'm probably pushing it a bit considering the weight of the thing. So thoughts are to be flexible I could sell it and my 515 minirig to get...wait for it...Two Ashdown cabs: 410 for the practice room and the 115 to partner my incoming Lil bassa. This would also leave me with a bit of cash to fund something else. Both mag series as I like the tone. The flexibility will come if and when I gig again as I would bring both cabs together to partner my TE V4. What think ye? Mistake? Opinions on the mag stuff? andy
7. Thanks for that, a wee bit more than I've got for the mo but very tempting and worth it. I'll see what I can do. cheers andy
8. How much for the cab? cheers andy

Ampeg

It should sound like an Ampeg rig! Sorry to be dull but that is how Ampeg work and why it has stood the test of time for sooooo long. andy
13. My 220w Trace all valve V4 runs my Ampeg 810e (800 @ 4ohms) perfectly. andy
14. As far as I'm aware...the road worn and highway one series are both made in Mexico. The Road worn is just a classic 50's with a vintage job done on it and the highway one is US parts assembled in Mexico. However, if they are as good as the classic 50's then very hard choice to make indeed!! Although, adding nearly £400 for a nitrous finish, dirty hardware, a bit of choice sanding and a few tea bags being thrown is a bit much. andy
15. Just to confirm, these are absolutely fantastic instruments and for £380 - what a steal! You never know Rob, you may keep it yourself! andy
16. Both will cope ok in that case.
17. Not sure what the output of a 5pro is but the b410he is 200watts at 8ohms. My assumption would be that the 5pro has two or three times more output than the cab. The cab really does sound pretty good although rather thin. The b410hlf is a better all round cab 400w at 4 ohm. If you go down the b410he route, my advice would be to take care with the volume. specs for both here: http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/ampeg-svt-3-pro/3836 http://www.ampeg.com/products/b/b410he/index.html andy
18.
Sold. Thanks for the interest folks, sorry to those of you who were waiting on other deals to go through before you could pay for this! C
Hurrah!!!
19.
LOL, must admit, given that everywhere I tried to but them in early Feb had sold out, I assumed these would fly out also! I think folks are rightly a little put off buy the apparent tweeness of them, but they really do have to be heard to be believed (check out all the guys on TB who've got the head and two cabs). OK, as I've said elsewhere, it's not a huge sound, but even with one cab, it keeps up with drums and is more than enough for rehearsals and small gigs. Two cabs and you can get some power. They really do have that Ampeg tone also, not quite the valvey warmth of their big brothers, but certainly much closer to a true big rig tone than you get with most units of this size and price. Sorry about your stress and depression Andy! Chris
Unfortunately, my eyes are biggger than my pocket change at the mo!! Wish I could they are great! andy
20. Somebody please, please buy this! It's causing me severe stress and depression...... andy
21. The new web page is up: http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/product/guitar/bb/index.html enjoy! andy
22. Damned cars and no luck eh! Go to partco at Murrayfield, get a cheap one and find someone to fit - cost effective! andy
23. Such a pity! Lovely bass, wish I could afford to buy back!! good luck andy
24.
I can detour by North Yorks. but Luton is kinda out of the way. With the Terror this thing was just silly. I never once managed to get the volume above 1 and the gain above 3 and i was playing some big venues (400-500 people) I'm still considering holding onto this and using it with the 400+ but then my car needs some bits and pieces Dimensions and detailed pictures are on their way... honest!
Geezo! Time to get rid of that car, it's always needing sorted! andy
