Ampeg

It should sound like an Ampeg rig! Sorry to be dull but that is how Ampeg work and why it has stood the test of time for sooooo long. andy
6. My 220w Trace all valve V4 runs my Ampeg 810e (800 @ 4ohms) perfectly. andy
7. As far as I'm aware...the road worn and highway one series are both made in Mexico. The Road worn is just a classic 50's with a vintage job done on it and the highway one is US parts assembled in Mexico. However, if they are as good as the classic 50's then very hard choice to make indeed!! Although, adding nearly £400 for a nitrous finish, dirty hardware, a bit of choice sanding and a few tea bags being thrown is a bit much. andy
8. Just to confirm, these are absolutely fantastic instruments and for £380 - what a steal! You never know Rob, you may keep it yourself! andy
9. Both will cope ok in that case.
10. Not sure what the output of a 5pro is but the b410he is 200watts at 8ohms. My assumption would be that the 5pro has two or three times more output than the cab. The cab really does sound pretty good although rather thin. The b410hlf is a better all round cab 400w at 4 ohm. If you go down the b410he route, my advice would be to take care with the volume. specs for both here: http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/ampeg-svt-3-pro/3836 http://www.ampeg.com/products/b/b410he/index.html andy
11.
Sold. Thanks for the interest folks, sorry to those of you who were waiting on other deals to go through before you could pay for this! C
Hurrah!!!
12.
LOL, must admit, given that everywhere I tried to but them in early Feb had sold out, I assumed these would fly out also! I think folks are rightly a little put off buy the apparent tweeness of them, but they really do have to be heard to be believed (check out all the guys on TB who've got the head and two cabs). OK, as I've said elsewhere, it's not a huge sound, but even with one cab, it keeps up with drums and is more than enough for rehearsals and small gigs. Two cabs and you can get some power. They really do have that Ampeg tone also, not quite the valvey warmth of their big brothers, but certainly much closer to a true big rig tone than you get with most units of this size and price. Sorry about your stress and depression Andy! Chris
Unfortunately, my eyes are biggger than my pocket change at the mo!! Wish I could they are great! andy
13. Somebody please, please buy this! It's causing me severe stress and depression...... andy
14. The new web page is up: http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/product/guitar/bb/index.html enjoy! andy
15. Damned cars and no luck eh! Go to partco at Murrayfield, get a cheap one and find someone to fit - cost effective! andy
16. Such a pity! Lovely bass, wish I could afford to buy back!! good luck andy
17.
I can detour by North Yorks. but Luton is kinda out of the way. With the Terror this thing was just silly. I never once managed to get the volume above 1 and the gain above 3 and i was playing some big venues (400-500 people) I'm still considering holding onto this and using it with the 400+ but then my car needs some bits and pieces Dimensions and detailed pictures are on their way... honest!
Geezo! Time to get rid of that car, it's always needing sorted! andy
18. ^^ Well said!
19. Oh geez! I'm now speechless!!!
20.
I'm probably arguing with myself - there's probably a name for that mental disorder
Yep! It's called being a weedgie! It wasn't aimed at you but I did think your logic was bit skew-if. I kinda find the whole thing strange when someone posts something and it's quickly followed by a trail of negative comments! Oh well maybe that's why I'm from Embra!! andy ps, I'm not calling wooten a bad person or anything like that, I was jsut saying that it's because as bass players we all like niche players of whom very few will have ever heard of.
21.
But a musos' band with a number on hit in America and many other countries (no 3 here)! These 10 random people may not know who Mr Big are but a few will remember the tune to 'To Be With You' - the same 10 people will not know of any punk band from the last 30 years with the possible exception of Green Day!
Agree! definitely flawed logic. By applying the same logic you could also ask 100 people: do they know, Victor Wooten, Jaco, Reggie, Jack Bruce, Dennis Dunnaway etc... This is what Billy and Paul enjoy doing in front of Japanese fans of whom love it so why knock it if its not for you? do as I do...don't post! Two incredible musicians performing at a level most of us here will never achieve - its their thing let them enjoy it! andy
22.
you know that and I know that!!!, mind you it has a few digs here and there, although I'm now starting to get the right sounds from it so may keep it, and yes i's cheap but it ain't sold yet, love the feel of it just got to get it sounding right.
I honestly hope you do! it's just not worth the loss. andy
23.
£500 is as low as it goes, pound notes
your having a laugh!? These are £1599 new! The mark two is desirable and should be in the region of £750 - £900 considering that the condition of yours is pristine!! good luck andy
24.
Nope.. It's a MIM P Special, AKA 'Cowpoke'.
Yes correct - I am that cowpoke!!
25. billy finds it easier to bend the strings going in and through/up/down the scallops and claim they give tremendous sustain.
