1. ^^ Well said!
2. Oh geez! I'm now speechless!!!
3.
I'm probably arguing with myself - there's probably a name for that mental disorder
Yep! It's called being a weedgie! It wasn't aimed at you but I did think your logic was bit skew-if. I kinda find the whole thing strange when someone posts something and it's quickly followed by a trail of negative comments! Oh well maybe that's why I'm from Embra!! andy ps, I'm not calling wooten a bad person or anything like that, I was jsut saying that it's because as bass players we all like niche players of whom very few will have ever heard of.
4.
But a musos' band with a number on hit in America and many other countries (no 3 here)! These 10 random people may not know who Mr Big are but a few will remember the tune to 'To Be With You' - the same 10 people will not know of any punk band from the last 30 years with the possible exception of Green Day!
Agree! definitely flawed logic. By applying the same logic you could also ask 100 people: do they know, Victor Wooten, Jaco, Reggie, Jack Bruce, Dennis Dunnaway etc... This is what Billy and Paul enjoy doing in front of Japanese fans of whom love it so why knock it if its not for you? do as I do...don't post! Two incredible musicians performing at a level most of us here will never achieve - its their thing let them enjoy it! andy
5.
you know that and I know that!!!, mind you it has a few digs here and there, although I'm now starting to get the right sounds from it so may keep it, and yes i's cheap but it ain't sold yet, love the feel of it just got to get it sounding right.
I honestly hope you do! it's just not worth the loss. andy
6.
£500 is as low as it goes, pound notes
your having a laugh!? These are £1599 new! The mark two is desirable and should be in the region of £750 - £900 considering that the condition of yours is pristine!! good luck andy
7.
Nope.. It's a MIM P Special, AKA 'Cowpoke'.
Yes correct - I am that cowpoke!!
8. billy finds it easier to bend the strings going in and through/up/down the scallops and claim they give tremendous sustain.
9. That's a shame! The eq is fairly simple though, a volume per pup, tone and coil tap for the model one. The bass is capable of giving p and ebo/3 tones and full on power rock. good luck andy
10.
I've now bumped the thread with a £400 price, but reserve the right to bottle out haha This neck cost me £220, but thats with Birdseye fingerboard and binding options. So would be slightly less without those, but more if you wanted say block inlays, fancy wood neck, more frets, mult-laminate constructon etc etc Si
That is superb! Looks like a wee call to Jon is in order! cheers andy
11. Is it expensive to get a custom neck made by John Shuker? It looks absolutely stunning - I may need some time alone!! andy
12. Given the price of the mkIII new - £750 is not a bad price and as c. rightly says these fall into the super-precision category. Better made than any Fender p-bass and far superior tone. For me the only word that would describe these basses is MONSTEROUS! Hope you get what you are looking for. all the best andy
13. I can handle that! did you change the bridge? andy
14. Good luck mate! how you getting on with the pbass? andy
15.
I will think of the price i wont - this is a collectors item and i have never played it. I just hangs in my studio. As i said in my first post i will be adding the pics soon. Just waiting for my camera to charge up.
Hi James, Good luck with this and welcome to the forum - I'm sure I mailed you re this, via eBay, some time back. I'll post some of mine to whet the appetite!! In my view I would be hoping for £600 considering the mk1 status. all the best andy
16. £1200 - £1500 dependent on condition.
17. Even if I was a righteous smug git...I wouldn't do that to you! but you can have the missus if you like??
18. And then some... Could you tell me the watts and ohms on the cab please. All I can find re this is 320w 1048h but that would be rather silly considering the amp is 600w. Tis a v-series amp and cap therefore they should match output? andy great rig though and one I would very much like!!
19.
Yes and no. This particular model is two-a-penny all over the country I'm afraid, and was built at a time when the QC started going (albeit slowly) downhill. If I had a Trace 4x10 it's be one of the really old ones or brand new 2010 models.
Definitely are hundreds of the 1048h for sale but all the old wooden ones. Still recall this being 800w and much sought after. However could be wrong I'll do some more digging. andy
20. hey bud ^^^ unless I'm missing stuff or having another senior moment...these cabs are the top end of Trace Elliot 4x10! andy
21. Hey Steve, Get another cab! I have the lead here that will enable you to connect to 4ohm cabs in series - it's yours free! It will reduce the volume in the ashdown head to around 400watt. When I used it it reduced to ampeg from 450w to 300w. andy
22.
Fair play. I think £400 is about right for the head, but given you have the flightcase as well you can go higher. The cab is spot on though IMO.
Have to disagree with that view. The 1048h is a phenomenal cab and as far as I recall its 800watt. Last one I saw sold for £400 - not in same condition nor flight cased. The flight cases obviously add value to the rig as well. As far as the head goes, inc. flightcase, it surpasses the equivalent Ampeg SVT3 pro of which commands an rrp of around £1k and sells s/h for around £500. A value of around £600 would be about right for the head in my view and experience of course. It is a phenomenal rig in pristine condition with flight cases, an asking price of £1k would not be ridiculous nor outwith the realms of fairness considering the quality, tone and sheer power and...the flight cases on their own must be worth on the region of £300 s/h. good luck andy
23. Up next we have...check out Dennis C!!
24. Nick just broke my heart buying my pbass Ta much! Simple and best way to deal, many thanks and hope you enjoy the bass. andy
25. Nice to meet and speak with you Dave. Easy deal! Good guy! andy
