1. ^^ Just an observation! Watch the video and count how many times his hands adjust the d-tuners. - to much in my opinion! I'm not knocking his skills in anyway as I realise one note from him would blow away my entire playing skills but...I just want to hear him groove, simples!
2. I'm with WOT on this one. I like Michael Manring in context but as I said earlier...I want to see and hear him play bass! To me, imho, it appears that he likes to play the mechanics more than the fretboard! just an observation don't bash me!! However I have an old recording of him performing 'Ghost in the Machine' Sting I think, and its awesome. Wot, I've seen the youtube video, your tone and technique is fabulous! It really enhances the band an is bang in with the music! I'm no virtuoso nor super player, just a player who enjoys plaing livce in a band not in a bedroom nor parlor. not to everyones taste but it works for me! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wkh14D_UN4...feature=related cheers andy ps Wot, please put a link up to that live performance.
3. Hi Steve, Looks great! Don't underestimate the Ashdown head - you'll get what you want from it in time. I wouldn't worry about the ampeg head, the next thing you should begin looking at is a valve head. The ampeg is a hybrid valve not full valve head. But, I'm glad you like the cab they are great. cheers for now andy
4. like him lots but keep finding myself just wanting him to play the thing!
5. Far too cheap for these! Great basses and a bargain for who ever gets them! I'd love the blue one. good luck andy
6. whats the amp? andy
7. Welcome to Basschat and Scotland mate. Go check out Guitar Guitar they have the Mexican classic 57 pbass in black. Superb instrument and the best pbass I have ever owned. cheers andy
8. yes on both counts. The handles are cut-outs on the back panel of the cabs, top middle about 6 by 1.5 inch and a strap handle on top of the amp. ta for the interest andy ps, best add pics!!
9.
Shipped for £100?
Not quite! however, I'm more than prepared to share shipping costs of £20 making it £110 delivered. cheers andy
10. replied. ta andy
11. Have you had a full practice or gigged with the rig yet? andy
12. Hi folks, Bought this recently from a fellow chatter and, as I have now purchased a new 515 minirig, will put it up for sale. I paid £100 so I'll pass it on for that. What Ashdown say: Based on the amplifier design of the award-winning Perfect Ten combo, but sporting a more powerful 65-Watt output – the Perfect Ten head is partnered by two 10" cabinets to create the P10 MiniRig - a true miniature powerhouse. Conceived as a home or practice set-up, the Perfect Ten MiniRig actually packs enough muscle to hold its own in small gigs, far outstripping standard practice amps in both quality and flexibility. The feature set is typically Ashdown, providing all the essential controls you’ll need in an intuitive and logical layout. Input and Output Gain controls are standard, along with a three-band rotary tone control section (Treble, Middle and Bass), plus the bass response can be instantly extended by way of a simple ‘Deep’ switch. A front panel CD input means you can play along with pre-recorded backing tracks, while also doubling as a line output for recording situations. If noise is an issue then the headphone output allows silent practicing, and a classic Ashdown VU meter lets you keep an eye on your levels. Durability is further enhanced by the use of tough protective corners and heavy duty covering. Power Output (RMS) 65W Speaker Configuration 2 x 10" H x W x D (mm) 170 x 445 x 225 Head H x W x D (mm) 390 x 445 x 260 Cabs narrowing to 225 for the angled
13. Well, I fairly enjoyed that! definitely early flea tone! good to hear again and well done that lad! andy
14. aha - I was going to guess an svt-4pro! how are you finding the 5pro?
15. ^^ what amp are you using? you've got me intirgued now! andy
16. eh! what are you up to then?? I'm not kidding when I say, partnered with my Trace elliot V4 this thing was huge and cut through a marshall valve rig and top-of-the-range mapex pro drum kit!
17.
Much better looking! If it's still the same price I can see it selling well.
great price here: http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_amps.as...andname=Ashdown
18. I think you're right. I really liked the two I had, value was outstanding! andy
19. Credit where credit is due! Ashdown have revamped the mag810 cab and I must say it looks superb! http://www.ashdownmusic.com/bass/detail.as...=mag&ID=138 I already like this cab but had a couple of irks with the original design: metal grille and plastic corner protectors but what a difference this new look makes! Wish i could get one to review! andy
20.
About 7 days today I think, but knowing the Guitar Guitar service, they would probably accept it back anyway. I've been massively impressed with their customer service over the TecAmp stuff
Yes they will! the guys in GG are superb! As far as I recall it's 14 days. Andy ps, boody hell! guitar guitar sold em fo £349.99!! I always miss these deals
21. right back at ye! andy
22. Pleased for you mate! Imagine two identical rigs being sold here for virtually the same price!! andy
23. It's a great price considering the comparable Ampeg micro rig will set you back nearly four times that amount!!
24. cost is £219, due for release late December. Much prefer the Ampeg 8x10 and V4 rig, however lucky for me this is a Chrissy present.
