Schecter Stiletto Studio 6 string Neck Thru Bass ~
andy67 replied to David Nimrod's topic in Basses For Sale
There was a stage, not so long ago, I really wanted one of these, your thread rekindled my passion for these Schecters! I recall walking into Glasgow Sound Control. They had one for £199, I choked, ran, picked it up and took it to sales desk with credit card ready. Delighted in the knowledge that I finally had one, I voice from behind said...do you realise this is left handed? POP! Bubble burst! These are spectacular instruments, build quality is tremendous and they sound amazing! Can't afford it at the mo but your price does not reflect the true value of this instrument - complete bargain! good luck andy -
well chris has been amazing and given me a few options, main one being rewiring the cab to 16 ohmes so the head output to it is dropped to about 250watts. This means I get to keep the 600watt head incase I want to start adding extention cabs. He still has the H&K head and I have to say im sorely tempted by that, but we aint spoke of a trade deal on that. Plus Tom on here is mid deal on trading his 8x10, so im kinda hoping that falls through(sorry but im selfish) and I can swoop down and help him take it off his his hands hahahaha. So just now there is a few things happening, just unsure on my next step. I think my main 'want' is the 8x10.
A lot going on then! You are more than welcome to try out my 810 any time you like! also I have a lead here that will save you re-wiring the cab, professionalyl made by our own obbm here. Its a serial lead which allows you to add another cabinet while dropping the the output volume of the amp. Its yours for free if you want it. I'm back at work next week and can arrange to get it to you. andy ps, Chris is a really good guy, done loads of great deals with him.

Fender 50's Classic P Bass Any opinions please?
andy67 replied to Rockbassix's topic in Bass Guitars
Ditto everything above! I love mine, it is a superbly built instrument and sounds great, just a little low on output for me. andy -
Made in Mexico to! I would recommend the MiM classic 50's precision, I have one, see my avatar, it is the best precision I have ever played. link: http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0131702340 Price: http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/68234?...0o0o0o0o6066603 andy

Well kept lovely old bass! I'd be more likely to hold onto that. aandy

Ensure the Ampeg logo is fixed correctly on the cover of the cab. andy

hello from an Edinburgh punter! andy

The mag 810 is a brilliant cabinet! you can buy them new for £400 so funding wont be too much of an issue considering the ampeg is worth £250 of anyone's cash! If the dude is up for a trade then I would say jump on it! it will partner your head beautifully. I did a brief review of one in the review section: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=12775 Reading it again, I would recommend it highly! andy
Ok, here's the plan. My beloved Acoustic 220 head has reached the ripe old age of 30 and I've decided to semi retire the old girl. I'm in the market for something to replace her at gigs, MY budget is around £250 and I need something of around 250/300watts. I have been looking at a few heads and was hoping for some opinions on the following. Ashdown Mag 300, Little Giant 350, Hartke HA2500, or maybe a Warwick? I play Rock or Folk-Rock using a Warwick Corvette and a 78 Precision and want a clean, punchy sound. I'll be using it with my Acoustic 2x15 and home-built 2X10 cabs. All comments appreciated. Mark Kinton.
Talk to Thornybank! If you want bang for buck or value for money! best of luck andy

cant beat the sound of 8 x10! andy
-
Is your amp capable of taking two cabs? if so, ensure the ohms match: 2 x 16ohm cabs = 8ohm load 2 x 8ohm cabs = 4ohm load 2 x 4ohm cabs = 2ohm load find out what the max load of your amp is, most likely 4 but check anyway! andy

It strikes me as odd that people call it the 'ampeg sound' considering their cabs are fitted with eminence speakers?? I love eminence speakers and have no muddy experiences with my 810e! odd, very odd indeed?? andy
-
All good Steve, hows you? OK time to up by one! buy the svt 810e classic - best cab I've ever owned! Its bloody heavy though and you know you have been gigging with it!!! Merry Christmas andy
-
BB714 for me! wish they would make one with a maple fingerboard though! merry Christmas andy
-
loved my 3pro, however does not compare to my v4! With the money you have available, I would be tempted to shop about making a valve amp priority. My 220w v4 is far, far louder than my ex 3pro and louder than most other amps! If its ampeg your determined to own then might I suggest checking out an SVT Classic. andy
