1.
I find it annoying you can't leave it plugged in , I like leaving a bass set up in my office
Get yourself a lead with a Neutrik silent plug Jack on it to prevent those nasty pops. They're grrrrreat!
2. He's good, isn't he?
3. Ages, just don't leave a lead plugged in when you're not using it.
4. The 2nd tune is also good, but shows perhaps a too-obvious Portishead influence, which I happen to like. Will you be entering our monthly composition challenge? From what I've heard you will do well!
5. Sounds good to me. I like the way you've layered the vocals, very upfront and lush at the same time.
6. Handy if you're playing in a U2 tribute with a dodgy guitarist
7. I think membership includes some health insurance. I know someone who gets a treatment in Germany for a hand condition that isn't available here, paid by the insurance.
8. I see. Flipping nuisance either way.
9. Can't you fill and recut? 0.5mm is less than the width of the fret either side of the tang. A bit of flame maple binding might look nice too...
10. ^ that's actually really good advice, save yourself a horrid job!
11. Thanks, the first link looks good, I find the smaller ones a little too fiddly.
12. Why not put a link up and let anyone who fancies have a crack at it? Like a Great British Master Off?
13. It's a pain in the @rse! I did it with an 80s Vox Standard. I tried Nitromors, heat gun and scraper and sanding. It seemed to take ages. I suppose the yellow seemed a good idea at the time...
14. So, how does it sound?
15. We play multi band bills all the time. I will normally watch some of the other bands but If they are terrible or just not my thing at all, I will excuse myself until the next one comes on.
16. I had my fretless neck made with black lines, against pao ferro looks Plain from a distance, yet is nice for reference, especially when recording. I have Luminlay side markers on that too.
17. Good stuff! Whatever next? A Snake Corps retrospective? I'd be tempted by that!
18. I read that as getting a review, not a SL&Gs box set. Could be wrong though...
19. So THAT'S why it's so tidy!
20. My mate's similar vintage Verithin had both pickups go open, must be a thing with this design. Got them rewound for him, good as gold now
21. I got sacked from a jazz band because I simply wasn't good enough, and the drummer knew a bassist who was. I kind of knew the others were accelerating away from me, ability-wise, but it's still hard to hear from friends.
22. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/277468-bcers-prepared-to-help-fix-a-bass/ Looks like there are some in your new area!
23. I wonder what the white one would look like with cream pickup covers? Anyone out there with the requisite Photoshop skills?
