  1. I'd worry about the balance, even without a headstock, with that (hollow ) body shape.
  2. Did you consider a light tint on the neck? I have a birdseye neck with a bit of brown in the tint and it really makes the figuring stand out.
  3. My reply was aimed at the op where there was no output at all, yours may be the amp, but could also be the speaker voice coil rubbing. You can check this by gently pushing the cone back and forth using a plastic cup or wine glass around the dust cap for even pressure and listen for rubbing/scraping sounds.
  4. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Taiwan-Alpha-SF12011F-0202-20R-M-011-DPDT-Momentary-Action-Foot-Switch/112806067173?epid=1728956886&hash=item1a43c3fbe5:g:opkAAOSw1hJb-72r&redirect=mobile Maybe?
  5. Do they click and latch? If not they are momentary switches which will latch a logic gate. So you would search for something like single pole momentary footswitch.
  6. If you can unplug the speaker from the amp chassis, you could touch the speaker cable on a 9V battery to see if it crackles. That would rule out the speaker itself being completely dead.
  7. If it has been left unplugged on it's stand for months the pins on the connector may be oxidized. I've seen this with electric guitars. May be worth a spray with deoxit or servisol and working the lead on and off a few times.
  8. Looks like a good venue, where in KL is it?
  9. If it's loose enough to touch the strings, that would make a noise for sure.
  10. How about putting a thermal switch on the heatsink in series with the fan? Then, it will only come on when you're working the amp, and you wont worry about forgetting to switch it on yourself...
  11. https://www.red5audio.com/product/rvk7-drum-microphones-set/ Nice discount, I suspect these are being superceded.
  12. I did straight away. Wasn't going to bring it up, but since you mentioned it...
  13. That's a lovely piece of Pao Ferro. Two of my basses have it, and it has been very wear-resistant on my fretless. I was never sure if they had impregnated it with something, as the finish is really satin smooth, and about 10 years as my main bass, always with rounds, has barely imperceptible amounts of wear on the fingerboard. As the manufacturer (U.S. Masters) ceased trading a few years ago, I can't even ask if the board was treated. Mine has black epoxy line markers with no front dots.
  14. Well done Bleat! Roll on next month!
  15. Alan Partridge's next show? SMELL MY WOOD!
  16. Voted. Another diverse collection!
  17. That's ridiculous for pub style gigs. You guys must have deafened your audience.
  18. Phew! Is voting up yet? Haven't seen it yet. Kinda thin on the ground this month
  19. The guitar tone is brilliant, and not a whammy bar in sight, nails the solo! Do you know what efx he uses? Drummer needs to run his Moongel under the tap
  20. I didn't embed properly so I inserted links instead. It all went wonky when I tried to upload an improved mix, I don't pay the pro subscription, so I started over. Maybe it takes the Soundcloud a minute to catch up? *edit Soundcloud had added -1 to the end of the link as the tune name was the same. Oddly, both links worked, but only the -1 version would embed.
  21. I don't think it is a clavinet. The decay of the note sounds wrong. Some notes sound more like a fretless with really bright strings and a weird bandpass filter.
  22. Lovely stuff Kevin, would be happy to hear more of that kind of thing!
  23. yup, good job!
