1. Great post laurence. I'm going to buy a dpa to send to FOH, but I can get a great sound with a pickup/amp. In my experience the simpler the better. If u can make a mic to an amp work consitantly gig to gig, then great, but not many guys can. It's really hard work amplifying an upright sometimes, but occasionally I get a great sound and really enjoy playing. If it's not so great othertimes I just get on with it. :-)

3. Hi I bought a set of spirocore weichs last week to try. I would prefer a thicker string so am offering these for sale at £85 delivered. They have had less than 5 hours playing and have only been on and off my bass once from new. I would consider a trade for a set of Evah regulars only if they were in similar condition. Cheers Geoff
4. U can't even buy a decent set of double bass strings for £100. Sounds like a great way to start without spending lots.
5. I love the full circle. Adjusters are really hand addition too. If not then I would use a realist.
6. I find changing instruments/amps distracting. It's hard enough dealing will different venues. I just take the sadowsky m24 and always love the sound.
7. Looks like a great buy. But what if u change back...! :-)
8. As Paul is retired from 'full time' production it should be a great investment.
9. Ive also got a bryant bass and they are great instruments for really reasonable money. I would recommend them to anyone and this looks like a great instrument. Good luck with your sale.
10. Looks fantasic , great deal too! :-)
11. I love the look of this bass and it seems like a good price. I broke I'm afraid, but good luck with the sale.
12. Great stuff! 2 sadowsky basses in one day! Life is sweet :-)
13. Being a mod is a thankless task :-) great bass though.
14. I just love my sadowsky m24. I just don't need another bass, and I really like just playing one. It's the only instrument I've owned that's consistantly sounded great in every context. All the tones are there for me, I don't need another. I also own a great double bass. I sold my last fretless but I never used it on gigs so for me one bass is the way forward. ...only problem is choosing one? :-)
15. I was thinking of buying one to use under my double bass when practising with the bow(and practice mute). I find my wooden floor makes practising really loud and worry about my neigbours. Anyone tried this?
16.
I agree completely with what the others wrote. I just want to emphasis what an inspirational teacher Geoff is. He will get the most out of you and then a bit more than you expected
Thanks for the review Nick. Hope lifes going well. I still havnt been to the Phoenix jam yet but will let you when I'm next down. :-)
17. Where's your pics? BTW great thread :-)
18. Amazing playing. It's going to be great to see how he develops. 13 years old eh, wow!
19. Turners do some good work. Kai who works for them is great.
20. Its her problem. If she was upfront and fair then there's no problems. I guess she was put out as you flagged up her mistake. What matters is she paid, if you can't win an arguement with someone like that.
21. I do love my metro. Don't be put off by the 'made in japan' label. I wouldn't change mine.
22. Looks great! I'm jelous of the 'doubler'. Are they velvet strings? How do you find them? Cheers Geoff
23. Great playing Simon! Also checked out your other clips on you tube and it's all amazing. Cheers Geoff
24. Mmm looks like a cheap wing pickup. Might be something rare? ...
25. Scotts one of the best teachers/players I've ever met. This looks like a real bargain too!
