  1. Sandberg Superlight series
  2. Tech21 DP3X Tech21 PSA 2.0 Cali76 CB compressor
  3. Don’t disagree with that at all and maybe cost wise it’s probably correct, but yeah I could sell off the dUg amp and dUg pedal and PSA, maybe get a clean power amp for a one of these units, or get a powered speaker, etc. To change to that set up for me is no point where I have my perfect amp and cab combination, within a drive/clean sound I like to change the basses I have for something different. If I had unlimited time and funds - I’d have them all!
  4. Some of these units do absolutely stellar things, and I would dearly love something like that, of possibly the rabbit hole of a fractal FM3. Even if you wanted synth type sounds etc the helix does a more than decent job if you spend time with it. If you really really want synth, nothing replaces keys and a Moog for example. Ultimately, I use drive and compression, that’s about it so it’s wasted on me, but playing around would be loads of fun
  5. Best clean boost pedal on the market by a country mile
  6. No personal experience directly with the line, but the concept and listenings I have done, I would squarely go for the Fafner II as my choice of amp out of the range, it looks an absolute beast
  7. Does it come with the battery Connector?
  8. Isn’t it just!!!! The precision section is mouth watering
  9. I’d be interested to find out as well, love my Tech21 gear as well. Currently for me tho, DP3X, dUg amp and PSA 2.0 cover a lot of territory, it would have to go some to edge in or replace
  10. Get a status neck and IMHO get the jazz one unless you like chunky-it’s without doubt made from unicorn horns and is probably the best thing I have played. Follow the instructions to install and drill etc and everything will be fine and you can have something like this - but better in your case.
  11. Few new tweaks https://www.darkglass.com
  12. Can’t hear any bass on that track if it’s Ladies night
  13. Car Tree Rrrrrrrrrrroad
  14. Bye bye Jazz(es)
  15. I’ve played the Panther a reasonable amount - I would say if the piggy bank will allow - keep it - it’s a wonderful thing
  16. Lakland are great too 🤘🏾
  17. Is it all 5 or just the low B? If it’s just the low B - you could string BEAD or is C enough? Play in drop D or Drop C. You can fit a double stop Hip shot to achieve this. If you need a new one of this variety the Schecter C4 Apocalypse Ex - but they are rare. For a 5er Sandberg are very very Decent-chose your poison out of their models - great Low B strings.
  18. I think I get what your saying and agree with you, overrated is a difficult measurement - when I have my opinion I, can only speak for myself, and it’s in no way to denigrate VW - I think the metric I Was sort of Using is Based on a person being globally well known/lauded, but I think there are people possibly better not universally given the same amount credit/exposure etc. Now that can be for a multitude of reasons and not the artists fault in any way. Back to sport (sorry) when they say someone is world class, IMO it’s an overused term - to be world class you would have to be without doubt the starting player in a world team Or A vs B team so there are 2 for every position , or subs bench in your era - that’s it, so there can only be a finite amount Based on what you have said, I would happily retract, and I would probably Feel more comfortable naming globally underrated ones such as Dave Ellefson, Bobby Vega, Glenn Hughes. On some ways I would actually put Marcus Miller in the underrated slot - the guy played what needed to be played despite having all the chips in the world and could have gone off on one whenever he wanted. Not sure if I have gotten across completely what I wanted to say, but hope you get the drift
  19. Nope, nothing to do With his or my musical Sense, I can sense and feel and appreciated all different types-I have heard him play and talk on videos and live etc a multitude of times. If you really wanted I could go into depth about feelings an opinions on stuff alongside examples etc. But it’s a light hearted thread asking opinions, therefore People their opinion about these threads on opinions is slightly absurd, but welcomed because it’s an open forum, plus I doubt anyone is interested. we are talking small margins here, it’s like asking (if you like footyball) Who is better Pele, Eusebio, Best (no pun) Ronaldo (both) Messi, maradonna - you would have them all in your team
  20. If you are stuck to a fender model, then stick a Creamery 58 P pick up in it - it will growl more than my dog at the postie. I did a self build from a Mighty Mite body, Stuck a nice chunky Allparts maple neck, did a relic paint job of my choice (one of my mates hates it, but hates all gold!) and popped the creamery pick up in. Its just the ticket!
  21. I think it’s a mixture of all what has been said (playing advantage and a couple of famous artists using) and a gradual acceptance more widely that it doesn’t have to look and sound exactly like a ‘normal’ bass to be good. They have their own interesting sonic space, and for something like the Stingray SS could make it have a wider appeal for those that don’t like the nasal sound, as it may temper that a little. I have a medium/short scale Fretless and it’s cool
  22. Yeah - this is the beans - I would be on your way home, but I would lose my last testicle by the Mrs if this slipped in. GLWTS
  23. I think we all have it wrong - the OP’s title wants Bass Palyers not Bass Players - can we start again.....
  24. Nice that - but still too expensive - you could get a decent second hand Ray, sterling etc , and a brand new status neck for less
