  1. I have to disagree with the weight point, especially with the newer generation ones. My MarloweDK is really light and very well balanced. Lovely bass by the way, my next bass will be a Sandberg but just a straight VS4. GLWTS
  2. I got that text then no reply when I replied back. Seems a bit hmmmmm to me......

    G&L Kiloton

@Pinball the L1500 is so cool because of the previous owners mods ;-)
  4. I bought a bass off a guy on TB in the USA. Very smooth transaction. He offered to take the neck off or post whole. The postage cost was $110 so not prohibitive. It was packaged and packaged very well. He declared a value less than what it was was import fee was reasonable. Very nice gentleman and have stayed in touch from time to time. Took about 2-3 weeks in total and was cheaper than getting a similar bass over here. All in all very pleasant
  5. I have a Hartke HD25 Cheap as chips, gets loud enough to practice in one of our garages with a 15w Tech21 guitar amp and drums. You can extrapolate through to a higher wattage Hartke and it will be fine. If you want to save pennies get a second hand one, I think there is an Orange Combo amp going on Facebook which will be decent. I wouldn't go lower than 25 watts though

@Sarlscharisma - don't worry you will enjoy it, and its a damn fine looking one as well. The number 8 neck is super silky smooth and fast. It's a real head turner in looks and power in the pick ups will blow you away. Let's hope parcelforce take as much care of it as i did and you will
  7. Bought a Batefaced Cab off this gentleman, as it said on the tin, great guy and a pleasure to deal with
  8. Bought a lava cable and a super symmetry compressor from this gentleman. A pleasure to deal with, fast delivery and accurate description of items
  9. As much as I love buying gear, occasionally I have to sell. Feedback please from those I have dealt with.
  10. I thought I would prefer the VMT channel, but actually I prefer the b3K, you may find the same. It certainly is great to tinker with though
  11. Agreed I have a MarloweDK and it is the beans. Same can be said for G&L too
  12. Not had an orange terror, but a similar set up I can relate to you. I had the DG B7K and VMT pedals infront of a Hartke LH1000 as well as other things like a Two Notes Le Bass which has some EQ facilities. I then bought the M900 getting rid of the Hartke and also because the amp engine is so good I have gotten rid of the b7k and probably will get rid of the VMT, but it's harder to sell, and I also may have found a use for it. Basically if you like the amp I say get it, I don't think you will replicate the sound you like with a combination, it will be close though, but not quite a cigar
  13. This is the kind of stuff you should not tell me. I have 2 ASATs one being semi hollow and an L1500. I recently strayed from G&L for a Sandberg Jazz bass (which is phenomenal) but always wondered about the LB100. If only the money tree existed....
  14. This is a lovely bass and Pinball is a gentleman Come on guys!
  15. I'll be popping along First ever time
  16. Bristol all good too, taking me back to the MIlton Keynes Bowl gig
  17. I have no experience of it, but would the Phil Jones Ear Box be a good fit in this situation?
  18. Oh and why? DUg has got tone for days, sits in that pocket and rolls the song, Glenn much the same with such verve and groove. They both also sing. It's all what I aspire to be able to do
  19. All day every day dUg Pinnick with Glenn Hughes riding very close
  20. So many journeys here! I have added a few bits and bobs but here is my 50p's worth on top. I have 3 pristine basses, bought second hand Pristine and will try to keep them that way. Why did I buy the G&Ls - because I like their sound and look of course. I have just bought a Sandberg MarloweDK second hand, it is relic'd, whether you like it or not, but I bought it as primarily I liked the sound and feel of that particular model, pick up configuration etc. Yes it has been roadworn, but I will try to keep it in the condition I received it and hence pristine. I suppose the next thread will be is anyone getting bored of basses with pick guards as essentially they have no use, and are trying to hark back to an old era where even their use for noise cancelling was dubious anyway
  21. So far as out the tap, don't have the Guinness at the Bierkeller in Bristol, it tastes of cider, I don't know what's gone on in those taps.... There is a widget of sorts, then they 'excite' the particles after pouring from the can by placing on some vibratory electrical current thing, first time I had this I was mortified and it was not great. Bit of trivia, approx 32 pints of Guinness a day gives all the vitamins and nutrients one needs rendering food optional...
