  1. I’m not surprised Stanley’s got rid of it, what was he thinking about ordering it and what was Ken Smith thinking about accepting the order and building it 😖
  2. I bet that plays a lot better than a violin bass (which I have owned) but have much too close together strings IMHO. Whilst that model was never a Guild in the 60s, it certainly looks like it should have been. Good buy for a 60s band.
  3. Probably Chas Chandler, although I’ve never been a plectrum bassist.
  4. This town ain’t big enough for the both us - Sparks
  5. Sadly I moved this one in, a Bach EB2 clone, but long scale.
  6. If you exclude direct swap trades I will be a year since my last purchase on 19/10.
  7. John Barleycorn - Trad. Steeleye Span and others
  8. I wonder if anyone either in the band or audience has even noticed you’re playing a 5?
  9. A 4 & 6 Bass - definitely why? A bet the neck dive is humongous!
  10. Having owned 4 ( yes I know that’s virtually none by some peoples standards) there is a lot of variation in what you might think is basically the same bass. The neck widths and depths vary considerably depending on where and when it was made and body weights also change. My current MIM has the most comfortable neck shape and width of those I’ve owned but is probably a tad heavier than the Squier I had, but that has a Jazz neck. unless you try out some you’ll probably end up trading them 🤔🤣
  11. David, you might try Olympic strings on it. I’ve put them on the Precision I had from you and they’re not bad for the money.
  12. De Solv-it Sticky Stuff Remover - yes it is called that. Available at Wilko, Amazon, and lots of other places.
  13. The Formica top bass looks like a bad school woodwork exercise.
  14. Can’t live if living is without you - Nilsson. ( It’s from a film - son of Dracula)
  15. Love Potion number 9 - The Searchers (& loads of other “beat groups” but not the Residents).
  16. Also from Hot Rox, the RokSak is a great bag for very little money - £29.95 but is out of stock at present. It fits both my Precision and my Peerless semi (JC type).
  17. It might as well rain until September - Lesley Gore.
  18. Well it’s not rocket science is it, but then neither is brain surgery. 😁
