  1. I was desperately looking for an empty bass cab. Martin responded offering an empty TC electronic bass cab and posted it in a very timely manner. His communication was very polite, description of the item accurate. First class service. Deal with confidence.
  2. I watched that same YouTube video and was surprised. During the British Lion gig, I could only see his old Marshall two 4x 12 stack close up. I stopped chasing his sound a while back now. If you ever listen to an isolated bass track from the same album, there is a slight difference in the bass sound. Suppose it comes down the mixing to suit the song. Each album has its unique bass sound, it's not about the clank as many people think. I tried his signature flats, and to be fair they don't stay fresh long enough.....
  3. Can I play with Madness- Iron Maiden Chemical Wedding- Bruce Dickinson Run to the Hills- iron Maiden
  4. Well done Sir. I saw British Lion in 2016 and the good thing was , that Steve comes out and greets the fans, so a cheeky selfie and autograph was secured. On Friday 7th July went to see Maiden at O2 London. I hope they tour soon. I wish they played Sea of Madness.
  5. Metal bas eh? I found a jazz bass to be suitable for all metal genres. It's the combination of picking style, volume/tone settings on bass , strings of course and amp settings. No magic formula. For and Justice for all, the Black album and Metallica in general, I roll back the neck volume a bit then set the amps bass, mid , treble and gain to desired settings. Higher treble for Jason sound, roll off the treble for Cliff sound. Pretty much any metal. For playing Maiden I predominantly use my p bass, but jazz bass produces a surprisingly good soundz just roll back the bridge pick up. The more I roll it back the more authentic sound is for early years Maiden bass.
  6. On all seriousness, I've just listened to Dr Feelgood vinyl I bought the year it was released. Some crackling , but it sounds unbelievably good. Saw them live in 91 during Monsters of Rock opening for Metallica and AC/DC.
  7. Same old situation
  8. I've used to chase sound. It's a subjective matter. YouTubers often e.g. play Maiden bass cover , clanky bright sound. It's not about the clank and bright sound. There are many factors when it comes to dialling in Maiden bass. It can can vary from a middy almost like nasal sound to bright sound with clarity. Do you play with a pick, fingers, slap? What's your picking position in relation to the pick ups? Volume, tone ratio adjustment in the bass? Flat wounds, rounds, tape.....Do you prefer using fresh bright strings or dead flats... I would first settle with strings, adjust everything on bass and amp the same settings and go from there. Experiment with playing position. Most importantly, the sound you hear from the speakers may sound different depending on your listening position, direct in front of the speaker from side etc. Headphones...stay consistent. I once managed to nail the Piece of Mind bass sound and Seventh Son era sound by setting up the amp with SM57 placed at 1 metre (3 ft) away from the centre of the 15 inch speaker recorded .Well I cannot find the notes I made at the time.
  9. I have a gut feeling that wearing corset/ waist trainer would overcome your obstacles.
  10. RATM live on BBC -Zack : " I promise I won't use the F word"
  11. Anthrax gig: Can everybody please remain seated. Maiden gig: The bass was inaudible Metallica gig: Lars flipping nailed it

  13. Voted, luckily realised that February has mostly 28 days
  14. I would personally leave it as it is. But I sprayed mine with red wine red and white pearl scratch plate.
  15. Was that a 4 or 6 string bass?
  16. Here is my entry, Instrumental song recorded this morning, bass recorded this evening, mixed and mastered this evening. Guitars Jackson dinky guitar plugged through various boss pedals into Marshall, SM57 off the centre of the speaker into Focusrite. Bass recorded through Amplitube4, too late to play the amp in the evening. Drums, courtesy of Ezdrums, keys - syntronik software.
  17. I can't even speak with an English one?
  18. I was told off then verbally attacked by users for asking advice on a built project. Very bizarre.
  19. Talk what? How dare you?! Welcome
  20. To be fair , I couldn't probably even tell you blond folded if I played my Squier p bass as it came originally or the minor upgrades. As long as the strings and neck feels right, the style of your playing will produce that sweet sound.
  21. My most comfortable bass to play is a second hand Squier p bass, added a fender high mass bridge , SPB 1 pick up, flat strings and done.
  22. Plenty of wood in the alleyway I'm clearing out too. For free
  23. Agreed. To me it looks like an excuse. If you watch closely, he went for Tom's instead of continuing hitting the crash.
  24. My parents would have various AM stations on. My dad would also listen to Radio Free Europe, forbidden station during Cold War. He had a collection of Elvis Presley, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Buddy Holly and various 50s and 60s rock and roll played on a reel to reel valve player. We used to listen the usual rock/pop hits in very early 80s when I quickly got influenced by metal, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Scorpions, Anthrax, Annihilator, AC/DC, Kreator, Sepultura and likes.
