Not just eBay, Shpock, Gumtree similar. Can you deliver? Is one of the questions.. Over the weekend I sold two Squier guitars on Gumtree I wanted to sell them for a couple of years now to finance a project guitar, but was in no rush selling them, the ads had pictures of every dent, scratch and this was also mentioned in the description. When one seller turned up yesterday, I pointed these out minor tear and wear. I also provided a new set of strings, still in original unsealed packaging, also in the description. He wasn't aware. Obviously he didn't read the add but it seems that he looked at the main photo only. He said, does it come with an amp? I said you can have an amp but that will be extra so and so. Anyway, I felt generous and felt bit sorry for the youngster so reduced the price at door step. Saturday, sold the other Squier, i put it on hold for someone for a week, they collected it but the questions were never ending. I also gave them a discount at the door step. Both were happy. I think one with locking tuners I put on and new strings they got a bargain. Not music related, but I put a perfectly working washing machine on Gumtree on Friday for sale, very cheap. It sat in the utility room unused for a year, we thought we use it as a back up...don't know why..never did.within 2 hours it was collected. I gave it out for free even helped loading it in a car. It was my intention to just give it away, and the buyer was shocked as he desperately needed a washing machine. I didn't want to advertise for free knowing it would end up in scrap.

100% agreed. On other website buyers mainly hassle to underpay so they can sell on.

Hit parade, haven't heard that term since 80s when we used to listen to radio and record songs on a cassette.

If you change the strings , is that still original?

In 2000, when I worked as a waiter, I served Gary Moore lunch at a seaside restaurant. I asked him if he was gigging in the area, and he simply answered, no just visiting family. Still have his autograph somewhere.

I have T Racks 5 mixing /mastering plug ins , this has a master match plug in, which is what I use sometimes to give some guidance.

This, this is very important if you miss out on conversation

I'm not quite as bad but rely on semifocals, and always struggled with Ishihara test

Thanks chaps nothing wrong with Ziggy Stardust. And don't you start with black white TV. I use reference songs and even have master match software unfortunately it's not be all end all. Luckily my missus is a hearing aid professional so getting it sorted won't be an issue, but the I will not have excuse not to hear what she says 😃 suppose every cloud....

I am certain that some of you veteran musicians or bedroom musicians sport a pair of hearing aids. Whether anyone chooses to wear them it's a personal choice. I have noticed that I don't respond well to certain frequencies when someone talks to me from a distance or from a different room, phone lines can be troublesome if the reception is bad. This may obviously have an impact how I mix my music and my end result often ends up muddy regardless using eq, comp, panning etc. etc. Surely if I had deficiency hearing certain frequencies, hearing aids would or could potentially improve my mixing/ mastering. Any thoughts?

The guitar sits collecting dust at my parents house. Has done for over 25 years. Will retrieve it eventually.

I was similar age, and liked the 1991 Metallica Black album era, so I modified the Ricky copy to match Newsteds bass. Still have it.

I used to have a legit Yolana D bass Czechoslovakian made bass that was a copy of a Rickenbacker. I carved it to a different shape and to this day I regret it.

Agreed, Three music stores closed in Kent's biggest town. I didn't realise last one closed months ago. I would go and buy small things every now and again. I bought amp, guitar, endless strings, picks, etc. Feel sorry for them, really down to earth staff and the owner. Two other that closed a few years back had impressive stock of amps , speakers, drums , anything you wanted. if not in stock ordered it. Real shame and sad times.

Have you paid with credit card, was it over a certain amount that you're covered for?

eBay customer services are difficult to deal with. They have an extremely robotic approach, no common sense.

Not a fan

I am not a big fan of effects in the bass, maybe a DI pedal or small compact TC compressor. Have you tried switching one off or do combinations to find the culprit. Maybe a different order of plugging may help. When I use guitar effect, I'd put noise gate as last after e.g. chorus, delay, reverb. Have you tried FX return?

I have considered six string ,but opted for an electric guitar. On the serious note, I'd like one at least to test it.
