Now that Michael Angelo Batio is playing with them, I was thinking of going to see Manowar at their only (so far) UK gig next year at the Brixton Academy. Then I saw the cheapest ticket are £103.55 (plus fees) so thought feck that!

Complex lines are only complex if you can't play them. Rhythm Stick had a big learning curve, but once I nailed it, it flowed quite easily (tbh I need to brush up on it now). I don't find tapping complex, I know some do. Some don't find slapping complex, I do. It's all relative.

There's a documentary about an old British heavy metal band that's quite good.

There was plenty of content released as The Sex Pistols, but without Lydon after he left the first time.

Bending notes is a bit difficult at the top of the neck. I realise this is a bit niche, but a song wot I have wrote, has a bass solo which starts with a bend on the 24th fret of the G string.

I'd done classical guitar recitals and played with orchestras and choirs, but the first 'band' gig on bass was an originals band, with 3 Pink Floyd covers in the set. I seem to remember the opening song being Floyd's Breathe.

Michael Monroe Last night, Electric Ballroom, that London. You'd never guess he's 62 by how active he is on stage. Highlight for me though Sami Yaffa on bass! 😎 It was advertised as the 40th anniversary of Two Steps from the Move, plus the hits. IMO he was a few songs short, no Oriental Beat, Mystery City, or Mental Beat, but otherwise a great gig.
