  1. I'm learning the original. E flat plus lots accidentals 😖
  2. Still learning the set of about 30 for a gig on Friday 😖
  3. My (wonky ) G string seems to have been designed by Escher, turning as it does into the fretboard edge.
  4. I'm liking the remix. The vocals seem to sound better. Not sure why? 🤔
  5. Interesting how "AI" is being blamed, rather than computers. Those of a certain age may remember when computers became a thing in the workplace and the jobs that were lost, and disappeared, as a result. And 2 things that should always be remembered in an discussion about AI: AI is a misnomer, there is no 'intelligence', and it is definitely not sentient. There is not one AI, it's an umbrella term for lots of different computer applications that do different things in different ways.
  6. It makes me think of Paul's Grandad 😉
  7. Covers band, which is an offshoot of the main originals band. Last night was our third rehearsal, the gig is next week. We went through 20 songs, and have 11 more we didn't do or have done before. Still a lot of work to do but mainly just with the arrangements. The drummer plays to a click, so we can time the sets quite accurately without having to worry about gigspeed 😆
  8. "you weren't as bad as I thought you were going to be" Teenage daughter to guitar player.
  9. At least you've got 4 strings! 😆
  10. No it will be one of the amps.
  11. I don't have the instant gram so can't open the link. But Yngwie shredding on a bass? Meh! Here's Paul Gilbert shredding on a double bass... https://youtu.be/lGm4yTUAgWE?si=39-yzgTlwRW_5JdL
  12. Is there a Toneprint suitable or close enough to the bass in Ain't Nobody? I think it was done on keyboard, so not expecting there'll be an exact match. Ta!
  13. You mean analyse their use of melody; harmony; tonality; and use of rhythmic devices?
  14. Like their first four albums. Great stuff.
  15. I use these and prefer a low action.
  16. I posted this pic in the How was your Rehearsal thread. The eagle eyed among you may spot the Elf next to my TecAmp Puma. I took it as backup, as I will when I gig, because this was the first time I'd been able to hear it at louder than bedroom levels. I could have used it for the whole rehearsal/vid shoot, and I've no doubt it can handle a proper gig with my 2 guitar lineup band if it goes through my modified Tech Soundsytems 2x12.
  17. Electrik Soup. Covers band. Yesterday we took ourselves down to Powerhouse in Addlestone so we could do some promo/show reel vids. Powerhouse staff were absolutely marvellous. I used Shuker's 2 and 3 through my Tecamp Puma 500 into my modified Tech Soundsytems 2x12. We were done by 5:30pm then all met up in the pub later. Fantastic end to a great day. Did my mental health lots of good 😊
  18. So the headstock is fixed, all it took was a bit of tape?
  19. Yeah baby that's what I'm talking about 😜 Yesterday's office, Korg clip on tuner ➡️ Ibanez UB804 ➡️ Swiff Audio wireless ➡️ Ampeg SVT + 8x10. It was a livestream thing for Hot Vox Rising - Warchild Charity. The 'gig' was done to camera, on a multi camera set up soundstage. No audience apart from the techs. But they seemed to enjoy it. I'll post some footage/link when it's available. Arrived at 3:30pm. Done and away by 5:45pm. Pics during setup:
  20. Yesterday The Royal Blues, at The Royal George, Soho, that London. It was an open mic night, the promoter actually said we're too good for that kind of thing now, but he gave the band our first gig so we didn't mind. It filled up considerably when we were on, then was noticeably less full for the House band who finished the night off. We had a new backing vocalist. Myself and the drummer hadn't met her prior to the gig, but she nailed her parts. Gear: Korg clip on tuner ➡️ Ibanez UB804 ➡️ Swiff Audio wireless ➡️ TC Electronics BG250 What a difference it makes being able to hear yourself 😆 Footwear: Mfre Bordo Suede Brothel Creepers.
