  1. Runnymede Live, Victory Park, Addelstone. It only took 2 years but Electrik Soup finally got around to doing a gig! The phrase 'herding cats' was invented for this band 😆 Outdoor gig today, fortunately the weather was good. We were the first band on at 12:45pm. Set consisting of mainly 90's indie and Britpop (hence the bucket hat). One of the guitarists forgot to bring the bass amp, so I used a Warwick Gnome belonging to the other guitarist, just as a DI. It sounded really good, with a surprising amount of 'heft'. On stage monitors were plentiful and although we didn't have a sound check the on stage sound was sorted by the third song, and FOH sounded great according to the punters I spoke to. I only took a clip on tuner, which died as I was tuning. All I needed on an out door gig 😖. But Shuker 3 is awfully resilient and tends to stay in tune regardless of environment. So I got away with it. Gear: Shuker 3 > Airbridge wireless > Warwick Gnome (DI) > FOH
  2. But that's 2 louder 😯
  3. What bass do you play? 😉
  4. Frank Skinner (voice of Ozzy's audio biography) on when he first met Ozzy. Frank: I used to be in a band who played Paranoid. Ozzy: So did I!
  5. What country is it made in?
  6. Is the improved tracking on v4 going to filter down to v3?
  7. It's an excuse for your band mates to get together before going the pub.
  8. I watched the video but got distracted by a couple of things...
  9. And he's worked with Ozzy, Metallica, and Alice in Chains.
  10. And Queens of the Stone Age, after Elton told Josh they should have a real Queen in the band 😆
  11. Not really, he's got form. He once played keys with Saxon.
  12. I've lost gigs because of my inability to sing and play at the same time. TBF my inability to actually sing hasn't helped either.
  13. This is my go-to wah on my Digitech BP355 (Digitech and DOD operated under the same corporate ownership and shared design teams). Easy to use and sounds great.
  14. A double blind p-bass shootout would be interesting. Various p's at price points from the cheapest Squier to a USA custom shop. Er, anyone bringing a USA custom shop precision? ☺️
  15. The only thing stopping me buying one of these is the lack of a tuner. If anyone here has the Roland account, can you do me a favour and ask if a tuner will be included in a future update? Thanks!🙏🏼
  16. Cable ties added at the top of the strap to stop it scrunching under the buckle.
  17. I've been meaning to update this thread for sometime, now that I'm 2 bands, 2 recording sessions, and several gigs in. I think I'm getting the hang of it. A while ago I took it back to the shop for a tweak, which was the only time I have asked for a string to be raised to make it easier to play! Most gigs I just DI and it has always sounded great FOH. In the studio I leave it up to the producer and BL. I've said from the outset near enough is good enough for me, in terms of getting close to a DB tone. The sound I get works perfectly for the bands I'm playing in, one being Americana, the other a Post Modern Jukebox type style. I've also been having fun with a bow, many thanks for help and advice from Nick's @NickA @NickD 😎 The major issues for me are the weight of the stand, and the case not being fit for purpose - lack of protection and uncomfortable to carry, although some tinkering by @Happy Jack made it bearable.
  18. Wasn't the stage lent to Live Aid by Springsteen?
  19. Wildfires at The George, Chiswick. Third gig. First time using the Digitech BP355 in this band. Sounds great, and the pitch shifter is amazing, no lag even when I'm wireless. Wasn't as hot as we were expecting, and plenty of people were in the pub, many were still there for the final set when it was packed. Shuker 3 -> Swiff Audio wireless -> Digitech BP355 -> TecAmp Puma 500 -> customised Tech Sound System 2x12.
  20. Asked to comment on a famous photograph of himself and Geldof together prior to Live Aid, Ant tells Uncut magazine, “That was when I was asked by Sir Bob to promote this concert. They had no idea they could sell it out. Then in Bob’s book he said, ‘Adam was over the hill so I let him have one number.’ One thing I’d like to do (in the photo) is kick him up the a**e. “Doing that show was the biggest f**king mistake in the world. Knighthoods were made, Bono got it made, and it was a waste of f**king time. It was the end of rock ‘n’ roll, now hippies run the world, like f**king (British festival) Glastonbury… I hate hippies.”
