Welcome and hello from Broadstairs!

Depressingly, it's straight 'austerity' cuts, been going on a while > http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-27663696 This plus the massive cuts to Arts Council funding aren't great news for music.

Gong founder Daevid Allen has six months to live
Just read in the paper that Daevid Allen passed away yesterday, MOJO piece on him http://www.mojo4musi...llen-1938-2015/ RIP John
Terribly sad to see him go - few have kept things interesting for as many years as he did. The video on the Mojo link, his last public performance from 2 weeks ago, is quite something. To the great teapot in the sky. RIP -
The only one I've found that tracks really well is the MarkBass. Quite happy playing down low which works really well for that 80's synthy sound
+1 for MarkBass Super Synth. Fantastic bit of kit, far outreaches the synth patches on multi-fx units IMO

Brilliant. Really enjoyed that
I've been writing a few songs recently as I'm fed up of the other members in bands I've been in trying to dictate what I play, so I've decided to write and play all the other parts myself and do whatever I like with the basslines. I've got a few decent ideas down but a song isn't really a song without vocals is it? I'm happy to give it a go and I've got some ideas for melodies, when I hum or just sing random words it sounds OK but obviously I need proper lyrics... So... where on earth do I start? I literally have nothing to say I can't take examples from my own life as I'm not downtrodden or disadvantaged in any way, I have nothing to moan about... I have no animosity against the political system or any desire to change things there. I'm very happy with Mrs C so don't have any traditional lovey dovey stuff to write about. I could write about going to work and leading a normal life but I doubt that would cut it... You guys who do write lyrics where do you get inspiration from?
I think that's a much used approach, have read similar from Macca and Thom Yorke If you're after some angst, check the annals of banned / recently departed BCers. You do wonder what the whole point of this whole exercise is. Feels less about protecting a legacy and more about self serving lawyers.

BAPAM site is worth checking out. Free to see a physio who understands the demands of playing on the body

Sounds like possibly Too much too soon. I've had similar unexplained twinges when ramping up the playing frequency / intensity - it's usually a result of doing more or different stuff. One thing that has helped, and often overlooked, is proper warm up of your plucking hand - stretches / balled fist etc. Another potentially related issue is what you're doing outside of playing bass. Laptops, esp trackpads, are notoriously bad for your body / hands - wonder if there's anything in your line of work causing this.
-
I'm on the 7:59 from Broadstairs for this. Look out for a balding 40yr old white guy in a black coat, should be easy to spot.

Happy new bass..week! Still wondering when I'm going to read a bad review, Sire seem to have nailed this. V7 5 incoming later this month but can't decide the finish. What's with the autograph? Thought that was just US / Sire direct versions only. Will you do anything to protect that?
If you're going, get your ticket from http://primusville.com/tickets/ rather than any of the other outlets. The cost works out a few quid cheaper than the usual, eg O2 Priority
Excellent, thanks! Brixton booked.
Length is roughly 3'4".
Cheers Smuggling a bass onto the family holiday means widthways in the 3ft 7 car boot. This seems like the cheapest option out there.

Listed as 'two full sets'. Assume set one is their last album - Charlie & Chocolate Factory soundtrack, deranged and unlistenable. Set two you'd hope would be all the hits. I'll probably go.
-
This could be the travel bass I'm trying to find. Can see its 29inch scale - would you know how long the actual bass is?
-
Tough to call 'sign of the times' from a sample of 1. If it helps for balance, I recently sold a pedal to a newbie (I think he had 6 posts), and it was a slick and painless transaction, a very nice chap.

New cheap Marcus Miller endorsed range of basses - Sire

I'm buying 1 in each colour, putting into dry storage for 30 years and selling back to Andy Baxter's son to fund my retirement. -

I use a vertigo on a 70's jazz, I'm sure it would fit the V7. Happy to lug this around rush hour tube etc - depends on your definition of bulky. Edit: re Height of bag - I'm 5'11 and don't have to stoop (much?) getting through tube doors, although normally just hold it upright - rucksacks on the tube contravene Commuter Law #26. -
Fantastic. What a beauty. Pro pics too
