1.
Only 10 minutes?
Maybe 10 minutes blues, 10 minutes funk... 10 minutes funky blues
 2.
Yes, I would rather we pick a couple of tunes to learn before we meet up and see if we are all on the same page when we get together. Perhaps I will suggest this.
Definately do this, or it will be a 10 minute blues / funk workout in E.
 3. I'd like a CS bass builder, with all the custom options and colours, so you could tick all the spec and see it built on the screen. They have this on the 'American Vintage' site but only a few variations.
 4.
Is this Basschat or Bassbitch?
Sorry Chili. Cards on the table here, I do love Fender - main bass a vintage J and I'm currently gassing for a P (maybe even with a J neck!). Bitching too easy though, esp for the CS marketing crap they always trot out. Also congratulations - that was your 666 post.
 5. If you need Fodera, or a magazine review, to justify why a bass might be worth 10 x Fender Precisions to you - you're never ever going to be a Fodera customer. They're totally fine with this. Edit - point here is really around fatuous reviewer 'scores' on what is a totally subjective area. Not a personal dig at the underclass who can't afford a Fodera.
 6.
Just turn up with Rolf Harris instead, you'll get a much better reception.
7.
I could replace like for like all of my current bass and guitar gear (including amps and cabs) for around that...
Current bass, amp, van and the drummer
 8.
A term used in various industries for something that is genuinely old, made years ago, but never been used so in perfect condition. Now refer to Discreets earlier post as they are not, at all, NOS in reality...

It means original old stock in as-new condition that was never sold or even unpacked. Not applicable in this case, I feel. Edit: D'oh, beaten to it.
So it's just the paintwork will have the appearance of New Old Stock. Not like Fender to repackage the same old basses with some sentimental marketing hyperbole.
 9. It's a ludicrous creation and worryingly cheap. The central soundhole behind neither strings. I do love the idea of rocking up to an audition with one.
 10.
I demo'd the S112 with the SL112 and the CN112 on a visit with fellow BC-er Policesquad and the thoughts are here http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2607747 The problem, IMO, is whether the TH500 at 8ohms is enough for your gig...or any other 500/4 ohms amp, for that matter..? It isn't for me as I ran a gig with a TH500 into 8 ohm Aguilar cab the other day and I wont be doing that again. I am going to do that same gig with a 4ohm cab, but the issue is more with the way I play ( lightly ) but you may be able to do it..and in that case the choice between SL112 and TKS112 is ok. If one cab is enough then so will the other be, and it is simply a choice between which cab you prefer. In general, I don't think loudish gigs are possible with just a single 112 at 8ohms.. but you might find it differently. As far as which cab goes... I found in favour of the TKS S112 which is why I've got them on order. The S112 is a magical little box sound-wise, IMO.. and the build is exemplary, IMO.
JT - belated response, but thanks for this, really helpful. Mind made up on 2 x S112s, one with tweeter. Just need to decide the colour!
 11. Highly recommend saving your bottle of piss for The Kooks
 12. You don't hear that catchphrase much anymore?
 13. Velcro ties, cut to size http://www.mpdhookandloop.com/velcro-brand-cut-to-size-ties-5m-x-10mm-roll-black/?gclid=CN-XjPP05MQCFa7JtAodsxgA6A
 14. I had my money on the keyboard player, in the library, with the music stand. Hope you get your gear back of course, and keep coming with these nightly instalments
 15. I'm using TH500 head, was about to go down the Ag SL112 route, but thinking now TKS could be a better option. Does anyone have a view on how the TKS S112 compares with the SL112 ? And what size gig would people feel a TH500 and a single S112 would cope with?
 16.
I thought people might find it interesting who is actually buying the higher price ticket Foderas in the UK... They are are all universally nice blokes as well who just wanted something to inspire them and chose a Fodera to do so
Really interesting to hear this Barrie. Would be good topic for Bluejays upcoming BGM column! And fantastic post Skank.
 17.
My sympathies, glad you shared this. Guys ever had punters offer help carrying gear after a gig? After hearing this story I understand why we always say "No". Blue
I had a friend help pack up after a gig. My fault for not triple checking, we were in several vehicles. He left a £700 mixing desk on a wall by the loading area. We raced back but it was gone.. Hard lesson learned! (band members only pack up, and no matter how well meaning friends might be, we're ok)
 18. Electrical issues are nothing to worry about, very little to fail mid-gig. As Discreet says - biggest issue (if at all) is theft. Even the £11k Fodera is replaceable with an identical model but a dream vintage instrument will be unique. Personally, I'd be careful not to be blinded by the whole 'YOB' route. It's a nice romantic sentiment, but you want a great instrument, and the best one out there might not be made the exact year you were born.
 19. Just out of interest, would they have got the gig?
 20. Name and shame - people need to be aware of this scumbag!
 21.
It is £11,00 new. The £8,750 is listed as a pre-owned and ex-display instrument.
Thanks for clarifying, that makes more sense. The BGM review was as good as it gets. I assume this won't hang around long?
 22. Great story, restores your faith. Those tops are excellent
 23. It's all about the bass: Carol Kaye at 80 http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05nk25s
