And here she is . . . . Even in the video you can hear how well it cuts through the mix!

I bought one as a spare but often use it in place of my GK MB500. We have PA support with a sub so it's plenty loud enough through my Barefaced Big baby 2. I never have to push it and it's lovely tonally.

I bought a Warwick Fortress from Matt. Fair price, good Comms, bass as described and well packaged. Deal with confidence!

Actually - first gig with a new bass day. I've been prowling the site for ages for a Warwick Fortress. I love the build, sound and general vibe of Warwick but often struggled with the ergonomics. I've already got a Standard Bubinga Corvette and a gorgeous 89 Thumb Neck Through, but I seldom take these out when I'm fronting a band as the short top horn moves the neck to the left and throws me out position wise when I'm singing. Anyroadup, a couple of weeks ago this beauty appeared in the 'Basses for Sale' section for a fair price and I snapped her up. She's a Fortress One, Two piece maple body, three piece Wenge neck (not as slim as my Corvette or Thumb but comfy nonetheless) and Wenge fretboard. MEC PJ pups and two band EQ. Had a bit of a fright when setting her up as the D string wouldn't intonate and buzzed like mad resulting in a huge action - turned out to be a duff string. Also had an intermittent electrical fault which turned out to be the push/pull on the volume pot that was solved with a bit of switch cleaner. Eventually set up with a 2mm action at the 12th fret (a smidge over on the E string) and feeling good. It's a bright sounding bass and i was worried it would sound bass light when gigged. I needn't have worried - played a pub gig last night - GK MB500, Barefaced BB2 and Zoom B1xon and wow. The long top horn makes it ergonomically perfect - sits just right. The tone with Warwick Red Labels was deep, tight and authoritative. Plenty of snap, body and growl as you'd expect from the wenge neck. More than enough depth in the bottom end and a 'Jazz on Steroids' tone from the bridge pickup. Wow am I one happy bunny, I think I've found 'the one'!

When I play in Isabelle, I just do bv's. Space is often tight so I use a headset mic. I use a Sennheiser Freeport jobbie. Sounds good and not let me down so far. Trouble with them is you've got no dynamic control so can't back off the mic, and anything you say is heard by the crowd so you have to switch it off to talk to the band.

Behringer XM 8500 for me. I always use one for live vocals in preference to the 58 I keep as a spare. Often also used one in a kick drum. Robust, to my ears, a crisper sound with more pronounced hi mid and better feedback rejection than a 58

When I'm learning a song that's a little bit out, tuning wise, I import it into logic, pitch shift it the appropriate amount to bring it into tune then bounce a copy of it I to my collection so it's always there for reference

Made in Taiwan, I believe in 1998. Alder body, four string. Three band active EQ with full passive bypass. The pickup selector switch has been professionally changed. Dunlop Straplocks fitted - the bloody screw broke off when I was putting the straplock on the top horn so this one has been moved over slightly. Some minor dings on the body, tiny bit of buckle rash on the back and some scratching around the bottom of the body - all pictured. A couple of tiny dinks on the back of the neck, near the nut, which I've tried to photograph but are really not very significant. Nice low buzz free action, 2mm at the twelfth fret, a little bit of fret wear shown but nothing significant. Could do with new strings. Slight crackle on bass control which disappears if you give it a couple of twists. Weight 8.6 lbs on bathroom scales. Comes with a free 'Aum' sticker for added serenity. This doesn't cover any nastiness and can be removed if preferred. Prefer pickup from Milton Keynes but can ship at buyers risk/cost. £250 £225 cash or Bank Transfer. This is a really fruity and resonant bass with no real issues. Truss rod works fine and the EQ is incredibly versatile. I'm reluctant to sell but my addictive personality has resulted in a collection that's way too big so some of my less collectible stuff has got to go. having said that, it's a lot of bass for the money so please don't offend me with silly offers. Only trades I'd consider would concern Canon full frame camera gear. If anyone wants any more pics, let me know. Thanks for looking and have a fab weekend!

Barefaced Four10 for sale including Roqsolid cover. A great sounding and loud cab but too much for my needs. I'm getting away with a Big Baby 2 these days, and if i need more I stick the BB2 on top of a little Eden 1x12 cab which sounds immense and is easier to carry. Everything you need to know about them is here: https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/four-10.htm Bought from Lozz. I'm looking for £700 £650 (which i think is what I paid for it) Would cost you £899 new. It's not immaculate, there's some paint scratches to the front grill and scuffs on the tolex on the back. No rips or tears though and functioning as it should. Collection from Sunny Milton Keynes only, payment by cash. Only trades I'd consider would be for Canon full frame camera gear. Thanks for looking and have a lovely weekend.

Try putting a jack lead between the fx send and return sockets. Sometimes these need replacing.- 9 replies

I've found Markbass heads to be pretty flaky if you go even a little bit below 4 ohms.
