  1. I remember it kicking off at a gig in Kettering while we were playing 'Riders on the Storm' . . . . play on lads - perfect!
  2. We played for the Freemasons last Saturday. We had a table in the main hall with the guests and the same three course meal. Couldn't have been better looked after. Happy daze.
  3. Don't forget to include 'food poisoning' on your risk assessment. Our keys player was out of the game for a week after sampling some prawns at s function earlier this year!
  4. If you don't like the preamp in these, a cheap and fairly simple alternative is the Artec SE2. I've got one in mine and I love it! https://www.thomann.de/gb/artec_se2_basselektronik.htm?glp=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzJ_WlK7v3gIVIjPTCh0Y3w0jEAkYAiABEgLr4_D_BwE
  5. I'll leave it to someone else to provide a thorough and more eloquent answer than I can. I'll just say that you'll be safe with one or two eight ohm speakers. If you use a two ohm speaker and your amp is not good for 2 ohms you'll screw the amp!
  6. I got one - love it!!
  7. Thanks mister, he's been in touch but its still for sale!
  8. Make this mine if you don't do a deal with Maxillius please Sir!
  9. Bargain
  10. These cabs are proper little secret weapons. I've got an 8ohm one that I stack with a BB2 for bigger gigs!
  11. They're brilliant. I've got two that I've used for years for vox and kick drum. Better feedback resistance than a 58 and sound 'crisper' to my ears, better high miss, which suit my voice well.
  12. First gig I ever went to was the Hyde Park show in 76. Saw them loads of times. Watched the film last night and loved it. The audience loved it. Loads of laughing out loud and for me, tears!! What a big girl, but music can get me like that!
  13. I think the hole houses a trimpot so you can adjust the active volume against passive. Could be wrong mind!
  14. A pair of EV Sx300 passive speakers in remarkably good condition. A few light scuffs on the bottom - that's all! They come with very roadwork and battered Thomann covers that have holes in them!!. Deets as follows - This description is from the EV Website and describe them as Sx300'E' - not sure if these have the 'E' suffix, but they look exactly the same as the pics. Sx300E 12" Passive Loudspeaker Compact, portable sound reinforcement Designed for use alone or in arrays Cast-frame DL12BFH woofer 1.25-inch DH3/2010A titanium HF compression driver 65º x 65º Constant-directivity Varipath™ horn Ring-Mode Decoupling (RMD™) for increased intelligibility Power handling: 300 W continuous, 1200 W peak Dual Neutrik Speakon(R) high-current connectors Trapezoidal black or white polypropylene enclosure Rubber feet and mating sockets for stacking Integral handles, pole mount Looking for £250 collected from sunny Milton Keynes. Not really interested in posting, and in no rush to sell.
  15. I'm far from starving as my developing muffin top attests, but I continue to gig with my Zoom B1xon, I bloody love it. It makes all the sounds I need, runs on batteries if I need it to and fits in my gig bag a treat. I usually use four or possibly five patches. Not knocking the Helix or those that use it at all, but the old Zoom has got to be THE best vfm bass player's bit of kit ever made!
  16. It's a lot of money for someone to spill beer over . . . . .
  17. I've got a fretted one of these and it's an amazing bass. Someone's got a bargain!
  18. It is my good man
  19. Agree with this. Big stretch to the first fret which makes them uncomfortable for me. Otherwise cracking basses.
  20. Thanks
  21. What's the weight please?
