What sort of fretboard radius does yours have? Vintage or modern? -
This Friday STRAY will be playing Esquires in Bedford with support from Thr3e

I’m convinced it was the drummers cymbals that caused my tinnitus

Have fun, smile lots and look like you’re enjoying yourself. Try to make eye contact with the audience. Take spares. Act professionally. Remember that your job is to entertain the audience. If you’re singing, set up your mic carefully so it’s in the right position when you start and if there’s no stage have one of the three legs of the mic stand pointing directly towards you so you’re less likely to have your teeth knocked out if a punter bashes into it. Are you all using wireless? Have you all used your wireless systems together to make sure the channels don’t clash? Use ear protection. Tinnitus isn’t fun. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I’ve got a beautiful Epiphone Thunderbird 4 pro. It came with a Gibson TRC fitted. I’m funked if I could be bothered to source an Epiphone TRC just so I’m not playing a counterfeit. Anyhoo, it’s such a good bass I can’t believe an original Gibson would be any better. I’ll play it out live and anyone who’s got a problem with it can mind their own business. By the same token the last gig I did was in Sweden and I took a first generation Squier CV Jazz with its original logo. Again, if anyone has a problem with me playing a Squier (which is a better bass than some Fenders I’ve played) again, they can mind their own business! Ahh the beauty of getting older is definitely not giving so much of a funk! I would obviously have a problem with someone trying to pass something off as something it’s not. That is clearly wrong - most of us on here would practice due diligence in the transaction but I guess someone starting out could be taken in. Have a groovy Sunday folks!

Not sure if he was on here but Kevin Riddles, Bass Player with Angelwitch and Tytan has passed away. Bit of a NWOBHM legend it follows a cancer diagnosis not so long ago. RIP Kev

A bit of electrical tape on my old CV Squier Jazz and she's ready to rock for tonight's gig with Stray at 'Time to Rock' Festival in Sweden!

I regularly dep with John Verity who replaced Russ Ballard as singer/guitarist in Argent. There’s always some spiel in the set about how God Gave Rock and Roll to You was and Argent song before being picked up and made uber famous by Kiss!

I’ll get in touch with the guy who runs the venue and see if I can get any more info

I played at Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre a couple of weeks ago. The guy who runs it (owns it?) Pete Barton manages Bruce Foxton. Hanging on the wall is Bruce's Black (well Roadworn) Ricky along with his stage gear! Anyone know anything about this bass?

Tomorrow (Wednesday) night I’ll be playing with STRAY at The Half Moon in Putney.

Might be an idea to mention where you are bud so we can point you in the right direction. personally I’d touch it in with something near enough, but I appreciate some folk like to keep their stuff blemish free. Good luck getting it done!

Played a Sixtieth birthday party yesterday at Tiffany's on the end of Weston-Super-Mare Pier depping for The John Verity Band. There was us and a Metallica Tribute 'Metallicish". What an absolute organisational shitshow! Absolutely no common sense from the events co-ordinator applied, very limited access for vehicles to the end of the pier and stage placed all wrong. We ended up with the ridiculous situation where we weren't allowed to bring vehicles back to the venue to load out because the risk assessment dictated no vehicles on the pier while there were pedestrians around - despite the fact that there are effectively three lanes on the pier - a tunnel - and one lane either side. Ended up with John (who's 75 YO) and I having to wheel the gear 400 yard on trollies to the van to leave. Disgusted - I'll never play there again - avoid at al cost - W Anchors!

That’s a lovely looking thing for sure but I’m totally with @WHUFC BASS I’d pick up one of the latest models. I’ve got a 77 4001 and and a 2016 4003 and apart from the mojo’d looks there’s no real reason I’d take the 77 out over the 2016. The vintage switch on the later models make them pretty versatile as well. I’m proper tempted by the walnut one on here tbh but must stay strong!
