  1. It’s a GivEnergy 5.1 KWH battery (I think). Our consumption is quite low so it wasn’t seen to be worth (in payback terms) going for anything bigger. Apart from a glitch at the start to do with an inverter firmware update, it’s all been working well.
  2. I’ve got solar with a battery. I did a forced export during last night’s savings session. First time I’ve done a forced export. From what I’ve seen from others, I’m struggling to see how it’ll benefit me monetarily but we’ll see soon and I’ll report back. I suppose it’s for the ‘greater good’!!
  3. I remember Maggie was also on Tommorow’s World. The first band I played in appeared on ‘Sky Star Search’ which was presented by Cheggers who was really nice and did his best to settle our nerves. Barbara Windsor was one of the judges and I feel honoured to have met such a legend. We got pipped into second place by a sax playing comedian in a wheelchair!!
  4. A lot of old Trace amps have a similar feature!
  5. Unless it’s a Crafter Acoustic Fretless like I had - unlined with the dots mid fret - grrrrrrrr!
  6. I’ve had a couple of BBG5S basses and regret selling them both!
  7. You could split logs with that axe! Looks great!
  8. Nice to see the EQ the right way round on these - on my MB500 is goes - Treble to Bass - Left to Right! I always prefer it the other way round like on a graphic eq.
  9. Grow your plucking nails a bit. Maybe superglue on the ends of your fingers? To my mind getting more attack is a bit different from getting clank. I like a bit of clank but in some settings it can be a bit obtrusive. I’m working on my technique/set up to try and moderate my clank in certain settings.
  10. I do a few festies. If it’s an Ampeg setup I’ll usually use that but if there’s any issues with the amp or I’m not familiar with it, I’ll use my Bugera Veyron MOSFET amp. Front end emulates an SVT and plenty of power. I Don’t use the comp on it though - not mastered that yet!
  11. I’ve got one of these that has done loads of service with Stray. Mine had been used as a cat scratching post, so I stripped the carpet and painted it with Tuff Cab. Light, loud and nice tone GLWTS
  12. The price is good. I had one years ago with a maple board that I always regret selling. I’d be giving myself a serious talking to if yours had the maple board. One of the benefits of these are the graphite reinforced necks.
  13. King Tut? No it’s a nickname someone at work gave me years ago because I had a goatee beard like the statue of King Tutancamun!
  14. Sorry- could you reword the question please? I don't understand
  15. Did a trio gig yesterday billed as Del Bromham's Blues Devils. It was a local charity affair for Willen Hospice. Really well organised and had a really good afternoon/evening catching up with old mates who were either friendly rivals on the old covers circuit or just people who used to come and watch bands from the old local scene. We were well looked after with refreshments and food and most of the kit was supplied. My mate in the previous band had said I could use his Hartke 4 x 10 and put my head through it. When I got there, he'd decided to leave his rig at home and use the house rig which was a an old Trace GP7 combo (did they do a 1x12 combo - or mebbe it was 1x15 on top of a 4 x 10. Unfortunately the 4 x 10 had blown a speaker and guys from the previous bands said the combo was farting out - great! So i set up, made sure the pre shape wasn't engaged, dropped the bottom and boosted the mids and got the Engineer (who's a local legend' to give me a load back through the monitors - and voila - not hi fi but great for grungy blues rock! Had an absolute blast and raised a ton of dough - and despite it peeing down had a great turnout too! Happy daze!
  16. We cover this in a band I often dep with. Drummer always plays it way too fast. Bloody nightmare!
  17. To be fair, I’ve just looked through the details of the file I posted earlier in the thread, including the mod, and there’s no mention of Clive Button anywhere. For those who haven’t downloaded it, here’s the text from the ‘not Clive Button’ mod - now to be known as ‘The Paul Mathews Mod’!!!! Important Notice To make the bi-polar 300 watt bass board reliable the following guidelines must be adhered to. When a board need to be serviced it is advisable to replace both the Output Transistors and TIP31 and TIP32. Also it is advisable to replace TR11 which is situated under the rear of the heatsink. The Output device should only be T2SC4468 and T2SA1695’s The Drivers should be of the same manufacturer as each other to ensure stability. And TR11 is a T2N3904 as listed on the parts list. TR11 need to be completely covered in Heat Transfer Compound (HTC) This is to ensure that it keeps the unit biased correctly even when the unit gets hot. If TR11 is not covered then the fan can cool this component down and give the board a fault reading of temperature and provide and inappropriate bias. When adjusting the bias on the scope, make sure that the crossover distortion is just not visible. Too far beyond this point will over bias the unit. Use a Shake-proof washer under the pcb earth point to ensure a permanent connection and prevent crackling noises in the future. Paul Mathews Jan 2000-01-25
  18. Yup he just loves it. I saw them last year at The Craufurd in MK. When Maiden have a couple of night at a town on the current tour, he’s scheduling in a BL gig at a nearby venue, and using some of Maidens support band as their techs!
