Whichever way you look at it, the young lady covering bass lines is 'one to watch'...from looking at her comments, she is new to playing with a plec. I think the Ray 5/Ray in general is the perfect all rounder for covers like this.

MJ did have some odd tracks though, despite his massive success. I've just listened to the two Bruno albums and I think he is one of the best current/modern male popular artists.

LIke everyone who said don't use TC RH amps because they have no volume, or that the Genz Streamliner is too scooped. Both pretty much not what I experience when I use them.

Lakland need to get more exposure over here. It seems GuitarGuitar have the full control over it, although Bass Gallery seem to get a few. There was one stage when most large music shops had them.

Interesting bass. Different topic, but I get really wound up with most music shop reviews. Usually 'this is the best bass I've played ever' or 'perfect build quality' followed by a semi average guitarist trying to play bass. Of course its the best you've played, you are trying to sell it.

I just don't like the EQ design. Always plenty of Orange bashers, and it doesn't bother me. Again, great service, British company, a lot of the line made here in GB.

I've noticed a fairly big rise across most brands, but Fender are starting to price themselves in the boutique zone now. I realise they will always have high end custom basses, and their original vintage basses will always command a lot of money, but c'mon, almost £2k?! There is one on a thread on Talkbass (new 74 Jazz) where the bridge cover was fitted on an angle! I'd expect perfection for almost £2k!

I had one of these. Got about £450 for it second hand when I sold it...it was almost immaculate even after 10 years of gigging. These retailed for about £1,000 back around 1999/2000 or earlier. Superb amps.

Ridiculous price.

My current thinking is the Genz may not be as stunning to look at, but it looks like it is a little more rugged, and I might be less worried about taking it to rougher gigs. We shall see.
