To be fair, I think she's a good bassist. Probably enjoying herself, on Jools Holland. The fact she might have odd antics on stage has led to other discussing her band! I was too busy looking to the far left to care to be honest...

Perhaps they need to factor in stronger screws/bolts for the feet.

EB strings...perfect for that bass. The colour will be the wood ageing with use on the neck as it isn't sealed and glossy. It's gunstock oil which gives a smooth natural feel. The board and neck will discolour but there are good cleaning wipes that EB recommend

Unfortunately, this is the way things work with shop bought items. This is why I won't travel/stay over and pay to try gear for ten minutes, to go back and have no real return policy. A lot of shops 'may' suggest you pop in as a way to get around the Distance Selling Regs. That would be a cynical view. It could also be that they wanted you to see it, try it, and sell you it cheaper. Either way, that is STUNNING. Seriously stunning. In fact...I absolutely want it! Hahah

I've been wearing glasses since I was 11/12, I'm now 32. I wear them all the time. Even if I get my eyes lasered, I'll wear glasses without corrective lenses. They are just part of who I am!

If you are playing larger venues, and you are used to two 4x10s, I would hesitate to recommend a 2x12. A good high end 2x12 can cover a 4x10 and more, but not much more. It depends which 2x12 we are talking about. If I were in your position, and I wanted better portability, but enough speakers to push the sound, I'd opt for two 8 ohm Aguilar DB212s. I've had two, returned to just one. They are, IMO, stunning. If you want really light weight, what about a Bergantino CN212? High end, and expensive, but they are very highly regarded even though they are only just getting out the orders for them. What about a 6x10?

Must admit, this is quite cool. That bass tone GRINDS....love it. Very aggressive...and properly audible, unlike most modern metal.

Great amp! Pre Gibson? I found the tube did very little, just a little warmth. No overdrive. I barely used the comp but I would if I still had my GP12SMX400.

Best bass bag in the business. Worth every penny. Great if you transport your own gear around and can place it securely in a vehicle.

I've just received an order from DV247 and I'm very impressed with how they work. I did have some quotes on Fender gear previously. Maybe they are overhauling, maybe they aren't selling Fender, or another reason...who knows.

In that case, 800. I still think the 800 is a bargain price!

My money would be on the MB800. However, it is very powerful. The MB500 can be bought new for about £400.00 which is a total bargain.

Hi. Have you tried another bass/other cabs/take pedals out of the chain/other cables/other speaker cables? If not, try those first. If that fails, then contact Orange on their UK customer service email. They are very good with warranty issues. it might just be a tube...

Anyone who is using flats, a cab without a horn, or the horn off, or a cab with a hole in the mids, or those who roll off treble on their bass, will clearly notice the high level of bass on this amp, with the bass control at 12. Without a doubt. When I compare it to my Shuttlemax 9.2, there is clearly a huge difference, and the Max is more 'defined' and modern, with less warmth. But, and this is the big but for me, the whole idea of the Streamliner is to get close to the older vintage tones, where the tubes provided warmth and tube 'sag' so to speak. Many of the Fender/GK amps have exactly the same type of tone, (eg, with a dip in the mids). Recent reviews of the latest GK amps show a pretty huge mid scoop, which like the Streamliner, is easily rectified by moving the EQ a little. Then, there is still room to play. Maybe its because I tend to use Musicman basses, and they just respond well to the ying/yang of Streamliner's tone, and the fact I use faily mid forward cabs. For me, it sounds fabulous.

Actually, I've never seen one! I think Orange should make a nice 2x12 (not the current version with speaker behind speaker) or a 1x12. Both should be spec'd with coaxial horns like the TC RS cabs.

Basically, I can't hear what the tone is because of the breakup/distortion. Cool, but I'd like to play one before even thinking about owning one. Not sure I'd use it much.

Nig has hit the nail on the head. There will always be fluffs, string noises, etc, so don't worry about it. Especially if you are using new roundwounds and a very clean amp!!!

Hi all I actually like creamy whites on basses, so it isn't really an issue, but I have noticed that two of my basses are turning a more creamy shade of white over time. Both of them are fairly recent, (2010/11) and both are usually cased unless used, and haven't been used outside as yet in direct sun, or on a stand in sunlight. They are both poly finishes. One has gone all creamy, the other seems to be getting there, with just a small area on the contours which seems to be the last area to change. I'm guessing this is normal, and usually people don't notice?
