1. Keep asking questions, if folks think it's a pain they don't have to answer. Hope you didn't buy the last pack of Status Hot Wire nylons ? TheGreek will be most upset
2. Used RS66's for years then tried a set of RS Nexus, brilliant strings. There was a dodgy batch a few year back, packaging company changed the paper sleeves to a moisture retaining paper, all sorted out now as the paper sleeves were changed to bags. Used the nylon ones too for a number of years.
3. There's been quite the upsurge in shorties last few years, I like 35" scale and 12lb basses but I've got one of the Harley Benton HB-60 VW semi hollow's. Look for threads about the Chowny bass or Scott Whitley's SWB-1,Scott's website is great. No way short scales are toys.
4. Found many on eBay including the Tesco's value one.
5. Been aware of Nik West for a year or so. Think the lass is great.
6. Down to 36 !!! There's near that in Peaveys If the 3 for sale don't move I have space for 1 more. OK 2 if I push the A-frames closer together
7. Prefer not to say how many 3 left for Spain on Monday & 3 are up for sale,1 was given as a birthday present, another is spoken for. None of which has made any real impact. @CamdenRob My new place has a cupboard over the stairs could hold 36 cases easy.
8. 3/10. Knew the Iron Maiden and Sabbath ones, guessed the other. With my interest in metal I should of got 0/10.
9. It's £1,2,3,4 for offers not £1.2K The lassie has no idea what it is and her dad's no longer " with us " to say. With the Tangle Iron script on it I'm thinking it started life as maybe a TW Warrior before her dad got the tin man gig. What's your thoughts fellas ?
10. Normal delivery times from Thomann for me are order Sunday night - open box Wednesday lunch time. Doesn't look like a huge difference. Will bookmark them all the same
11. Quite happy to go from old punk to listening to Grace, think she can be great. Her skelping Russel Harty more than makes up for the horror of Conan the Destroyer Never got Morrisey either CB
12. Spotted that Patriot too Bassassin.
13. DV247 are selling set of 4 for £35 inc delivery.
14. Saw that one a few weeks back. Crazy price.
15. Time waster ?? Not at all. I said my Fury was " beat to hell " which I think you thought was "mojo" then realised no I really meant beat to hell Apart from costing less can't say a Fury would do any the JV doesn't but I will pass you any details on BBM Furys I hear of.Shame Peavey UK's gone as you could have just got a black scratchplate. 8lbs was the weight you were looking for wasn't it ?
16. Not quite chastised enough for that one Paul . They must of done black/black/maple Furys, that Patriot of mine is B/B/M.
17.
Not me - I've been Peaveyless for some months now. Maybe whoever bought it from me (I forget who that was now)
Sorry Paul that's what I get for making an assumption.
18. Well the $85 shipping and 20% tax on everything would add £100 so Tim's only trying to get his money back. The Fury has no chance,Paul_S sold his last week for £77 on eBay. @alyctes Router chambers out the back of the T-40. Chip Todd had a nice sideline doing just that. 19. Apart from the inflated price ( still normally $100 in the US ) he's got the date wrong. Split-P pickup was introduced in 86. It looks like 87 but has the newer string tree, having the bar instead of the triangle. Nice bass though. The neck would be too skinny for discreet, something like my T-20 measuring 44mm would be better.
20. Not a week goes by when I don't get one of these Generally easy to spot as the PayPal font looks different in my email inbox.
21. Drop Kick Murphys " Kiss Me I'm Sh*t-faced ".
22. You sure don't see many, this one belongs to top man Tim Chapple. He's been trying for a while to get used to it. Patriot is a different beast to T-20's or early Furys, goes to show pickup placement counts more than pickup itself
23. 20% is a bit steep and they could have hid plenty filler under the solid coat. Still it was 72 and there wasn't a great deal of competition. 10% must be the standard mark up for lefties, was the same on the Sapphire. I'd been playing a shop brand Japanese P for about 5 year when I went for my 1st Fender, after trying 6 or 7 I realised they weren't doing anything more than I already had. Not saying they can't be good basses just so can plenty other brands. I heard from Alan Exley at project guitars about a decal, most photos show a blank headstock and he advised going with that. Only one photo shows a logo and it's not a great photo to work from.
