Easier than a 810 though.. Which usually fits into the boot a medium-large estate car.. I used to have a Tecamp 810..
Similarly, I used to slide the Tecamp 612 in to the back of my estate with plenty of room for bass cases etc Beast of a cabinet, full of Helium, I am sure!

Ahhh! Takes me back! One of the first PA's a band I was in had those 'lovely' WEM PA cabinets:

Happy Birthday BassChat! The community continues to thrive with a readership 38,000 strong where others haven't.. Testament to those contributing and of course the very hard working staff who do their jobs here voluntarily. The odd one or two that don't seem to be able to enter in to the community spirit are thankfully a minority, They just need to just 'let go' of their bee containing bonnet sometimes.

You know that feeling when you regret rejoining a conversation.. That's cool though, I'm off to play my cabinets this evening rather than talk about them Oh! And I might have some deep fried potatoes on the way home too!

I see engines as active components, like amplifiers, DSP etc. Anyway, I thought I might go check out what Barefaced had to say about the driver on the website: (Not necessarily responding directly to you, but to the discussion in general)

The analysis of a cabinet system that is suitable for FRFR and the focus is on one single component. Hopefully the screw driver will be coming out for the 745 - and I don't expect the off axis response to be jaw droppingly different for a PRO driver. In the same way that I might measure the speed of the car by the type of tyre it's wearing. So, I agree. I'd like to see the entire system being measured.

Thanks! I popped in to see if anymore had been added to the OP's original question as using active cabinets for backline is of interest to me.

Over the weekend I was lucky enough to become a proud, albeit very temporary, owner of an actual potato, or three. I’ll try to keep comments to a minimum, (Om, nomm, noms, chips...) as I think the measurements speak for themselves.* *Yes, I am having fun, this is just a lighthearted joke. (I can't believe I'm actually going to have to type that.)

Actually, now I've researched, I understand why it would be difficult to get a truly isolated power supply in a smaller box! -
the harley benton Junior from thomann is the kiddy has five isolated outputs and is about thirty notes I have been using mine for about four years and it hasn't missed a beat

I use the HB Junior too, you need to use the current addition cable though to provide 240mA (the Smoothhound needs 250mA).
Thanks guys! I'd spotted HB J in the thread in previous pages and I think that will be ok in the absence of a smaller offering - What I am looking for is something like the Mooer as I am building a small board. A 'gig bag fly rig' type of thing. If I can't do it with a micro pedal size distro then this is ace, but if I can... I enjoy a challenge -

Hi folks! Any ideas for a micro sized power distribution for my pedal board to include supplies that are isolated for the SmoothHound? Mooer Micro Power comes up on Google - anyone tried one? Or something better? -
Yup, I've received a bass delivered to my house wrapped in nothing more than one sheet of bubble wrap. It wasn't even secured. "Wow, what a surprise!" you can imagine I said when I saw it resting against my front door for the whole world to see clearly what it was!

You'll find full spec, sound samples and videos of this rather awesome pedal here: This is my all time favourite distortion pedal and this example is as new. http://ebssweden.com/content2/ebs-billy-sheehan-signature-deluxe/
You’re unlikely to find many distortion pedals on the market for bassists that have managed to shoe-horn this much in to one box and sound this good without going down the ‘custom build’ boutique route. Superb. Superb." - Guitar Interactive Magazine, UK

THE BILLY SHEEHAN SIGNATURE DRIVE DELUXE IS THE NEW EXTENDED VERSION OF THE PREVIOUS SIGNATURE MODEL, ALSO RELEASED BY AND AVAILABLE FROM EBS. IT IS A COMPLETE ANALOG DESIGN WITH EXCEPTIONAL FEATURES TO TURN IT INTO YOUR OWN 'SIGNATURE' PEDAL. IT IS DEVELOPED BY EBS IN CLOSE CO-OPERATION WITH BILLY HIMSELF. More gain. The Billy Sheehan Drive Deluxe offers significant more gain than the original purple version. A ‘Boost’ footswitch even push the gain on the Drive to the extreme when needed. The level of boost can be adjusted internally by a trim pot. Phase inverter switch. With the ‘Phase’ switch set to ‘Inv’ (affects the drive only) you will achieve a more growly kind of distortion compared to the Normal setting. Swappable op-amp. There are a lot of drive pedals that are considered to be ‘classics’. Many of them use some variation of a standard type of op-amp circuit design called an ‘8-pin dual inline op-amp’. The new EBS Billy Sheehan Signature Drive Deluxe offer the user the unique ability to change this ‘chip’ to one that offers different characteristics to the Drive effect. The chip is accessed easily by removing the bottom plate of the pedal. It’s attached to the board by an IC-standard socket, and does not require any soldering to be swapped. See the Demo & Samples Tab for a op-amp shootout video as a reference guide. Shared features with 'the Purple' version The super cool loops. Use the Clean Loop to send a clean signal to an octave pedal and obtain optimized tracking while the Drive channel is still in use. Or put an Equalizer in the Drive Loop to fine tune your distortion character. There are countless options to use these loops in creative ways; these are only two examples to get your mind spinning. The built-in compressor. This pedal comes with a built-in compressor that you can leave off, set in Mid or in High position. The compressor helps to maintain definition of tone while you’re using heavy distortion. It also helps to blend together the distortion and clean tone better. There are two internal trim pots' that let you change the Threshold value and adjust the level of compression in the MID position. The controls. DRIVE sets how hard the distortion ‘engine’ will work. TONE changes the character of the drive sound; LEVEL sets the level of the drive sound, and CLEAN sets the level of your clean tone. Billy's words about the EBS Billy Sheehan Signature Drive Deluxe: " My new Deluxe pedal has more gain! It really screams. Much more than the first version, but you can always tone it down if you like. Also, one very unique feature that I think will appeal to a lot of people is the “swappable” 8 pin dual inline op amp. You can basically make it your own signature drive by replacing the main drive chip with another of your choice! Also, there’s a phase reverse switch for the drive channel that gives tones a very different dimension. And a “boost” switch to kick the drive into a much higher gain. All exciting new features that will make it easier for players to fine tune this device to their own personal needs."
Latest version with IB Mod and latest firmware as standard out of the box. Can be used either as a stand alone floor unit, or the brain can be slid out and placed in a rack along with all of your favourite boutique pedals leaving the controller only at your feet. Can switch external amplifiers and place your own effects in the signal chain ready to be switched in and out remotely. Pretty amazing actually! Look at the details below and please watch the videos on the TC website which better demonstrates what this beast is all about. Very sad to see this and some of my favourite kit having to go! I would recommend collection for this but shipping maybe possible. Ambient In-Ear Mix on a budget. Zoom H2n recorder and In-Ear Monitors
Dood replied to Dood's topic in Hardware & Accessories
Dood, Great idea! I tried it at rehearsal using my Sony PCM-M10 Linear Recorder last week and it is a revelation! Really clear reproduction. I have ordered some moulded in-ear monitors and bought a Rolls PM55P personal monitor amp. The PM55P has a mic (XLR) input and mic through output with mic/line switch, a monitor (6.35mm phone) input with option for stereo (TRS) or mono, both with adjustable level control and it can be powered by an onboard 9v battery or from a pedal board power source. I don't sing with my band so I intend to run from the DI out from my amp through the mic in/outs and the ambient from my Sony PCM into the monitor input. I hope that it works and that there isn't too much delay. I will report back. BTW, Rolls also make a PM351 which has an extra input/output for an instrument.
Hey GrahamT! That sounds lie a superb set up! Yes please, I'd love to hear how you get on with it. I played a gig with just normal ear plugs at the weekend and in comparison it was really awful! I missed the clarity and stereo field I get with this little 'active set up'. A Revelation! -
Here ya go! https://www.guitarinteractivemagazine.com/issues/issue-23/reviews/ebs-fuzzmo-pedal/

I'll type more later but two tips. Keep the volume of you IEMs down. Don't wear just one ear plug or IEM on its own. You'll end up making things worse in both cases.

I guess my fellow D'Addario/Dingwall artist Nolly is known for his bass work in Periphery but he's a great Guitarist. Andy James usually plays all the bass on his solo albums (only cos he couldn't afford me lol) -

You could ask the same question of Bass Players on Guitar! John Deacon for example was a bit handy on the Guitar though you'd never have known on the face of it.
