1. I think the laptop or iPad route could be a good one. It's possible to set up a DAW as a looper and make use of all the effects and time keeping functionality. Here's an example that comes to mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2793YThvhlM You could use a fairly basic MIDI controller to start, stop, undo etc. Ok, so it will mean you'd need an interface too, but pick the right one and you can start sending FOH mixes and separate headphone mixes to band members. On the subject of interfaces, I really love my Focusrite Clarett as it comes with a remote control app for my phone or iPad that can also adjust levels for IEMs etc. very cool.
2. £575 for collection. Will throw in patch leads as an added extra too.
3.
You'll need some 100mm or 125mm diameter casters, with rubber wheels (don't get polypropylene wheels, they are too hard). Most come with a 4 x screw baseplate attachment. A quick search on ebay should come up with plenty. I just ordered these today ...... http://www.ebay.co.u...K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT The 125mm ones are bigger and heavier, but will be significantly smoother on rough car parks etc.
I saw the thread title and was about to type exactly this. I've bought lots of 100mm rubber wheels for a number of different cabinets and I would say they have been SO helpful, especially as my own back isn't so great either!
4. Will have a think about trade offers +cash my way.
5. Serves me right for copying from the website ha ha ha ha!!! Fretless and upright players will often prefer the HDN cabinets because of how the midrange ‘speaks’ with their instruments. The HDN series cabinets have a new design high intelligibility tweeter mated to the woofers through a custom designed phase-coherent crossover with a tweeter control. 7. I've been really happy with my Bergantino B|Amp that again came out with me last night and delivered the proverbial goods at a gig. I guess I'm just intrigued and would like to know what people who own the HD212 thought about 'em. (Other than of course being heavier than the HDN and CN equivalents!)
8.
Wow... they really brought the price down, damn. Dood, I think the eq. is flat when the faders are in the center of their travel. But of course the "flat" on this amp always has to do with how it's been engineered and built... so sounds different from my Warwick ProTube in flat.
Indeed, I suppose that's what I was wondering, thank you for the reply. I can handle 'the inherent tone of the electronics used' but I was keen to find out if Ashdown's well known pre-shape was 'on all the time' in the design, if you see what I mean. Really no bad thing mind, only to find out of that is part of the amplifier's design itself. I liked that on the R800 you can defeat the pre-shape should you need to.
9. One thing I never found out about these: Is the ;Ashdown 'preshape' baked in to these even if the EQ is set flat, or is it that the amplifier has a flat sound throughout the chain until you tweak the EQ? Would love to know.
10. Looking to sell this one on. £600, as new condition. Collect for a better deal.
11.
PM'd
Replied sir!
12. Any noise gate only 'hides' hum, it can't eliminate it. That said, for gating noise, the Decimator, especially the rack version is VERY good. I'd start by looking at the bass to check that all of the compartments are properly shielded and checked the pickups are at least rejecting as much as they can in terms of design. It seems I hardly run single coils on their own (unless it's the neck pickup of a Tele or Strat) and if I did I would run a pair like a Jazz bass with one reversed coil thus giving me a natural humbucking configuration. If it's still a massive problem, you could look at single coil pickups with a dummy coil for humbucking duties. That could also be an option. On the flip side, of course if you are using loads of distortion pedals then the noise from those may need a noise gate anyway and thus the Decimator is a good choice!
13.
I still wantttt this. Need the Thumb sold before I can consider it further! How does the maple compare to wenge, the obvious? I.e. Brighter, snappier
Hi Kev! I think you've nailed it there. It has a nice snap to this bass, but you know, I think due to the scale length and electronics, the differences are very slight. You'd not tell the difference in the mix I wouldn't say. I have been lucky enough to try out different Dingwall pickups and I am absolutely certain that in certain configurations you can bring out way more mids or whatever than you can changing the neck for Wenge for example.
14. Bumping this for the weekend only and then it's off.
15.
I used one of these for two years and it was awesome. The quality of the effects is about as good as it gets and the build quality of this thing is epic. It's super versatile and more flexible than you can imagine. For anyone using a load of sound live and playing a massively varied set like I was at the time, it's fantastic. It's way way above any of the multi-fx gear out there. Steve Vai uses this live. It handles all the bass you chuck at it too, it's not guitar specific, think of it as studio quality effects at your feet. Good luck with the sale.
Thank you so much for the glowing review Yeah, I actually do really love it. I also really do actually love to eat and pay bills lol! It has to go. Interested peeps, send me a message and we can talk monies.
16. As new but without box. You know about these awesome Compressor pedals. There's just nothing on the pedal market that can match the tweak-ability of these. 17.
That's mental health issues in a nutshell. too most people they are so hard to grasp that those suffering from them feel even more isolated and misunderstood.
Indeed, it's not a decision or just feeling a bit under the weather. It's not just 'totally fed up with the world this week'. It's a dark demon eating away at your sensibilities that has the power to turn the world against you and you don't even realise. It can make you feel worthless, confused and tired. It will take away the enjoyment of even the most fun of hobbies. At worst, well, I don't need to say more.

I could have done that for you before I had to sell my Big Twin. I have a very special Marshall SuperBass here and some of the best amplifier modelling software in my studio. Sansamp would have been easy to get hold of, but alas minus the BT2 and 4x12, I'm unable to help!
20. Just found this one: http://www.ejamming.com/learn-more/ and another called Jammr. I'd be interested to hear of anyone using these or similar and if it really does work. ejamming features Phil Collen from Def Leppard in a live video and he seems to be doing ok jamming with two musicians in totally different locations!
21. There are indeed products out there that allow for playing together across the internet and I've heard of people using them with what appears to be success. I've not tried myself, so can't answer, though I recall one product being called 'Ohm', though I had a quick look online and without digging in to the details, it looked like a DAW that allows people across the world to record with each other at the same time. Maybe not quite what you are looking for, but I don't know - maybe it can do other stuff too!
22. P.s. Thank you, I'm very interested to hear the differences, I appreciate the post.
23.
The review would be great if they hadn't blended the DI and Amp signals - it's out of phase and sounds weird.
I would like to update my post to say that in the comments they offer amp only and DI only recordings too. I'm off to the DI one now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3r2_WvwczNg&feature=youtu.be
