1.
I still wantttt this. Need the Thumb sold before I can consider it further! How does the maple compare to wenge, the obvious? I.e. Brighter, snappier
Hi Kev! I think you've nailed it there. It has a nice snap to this bass, but you know, I think due to the scale length and electronics, the differences are very slight. You'd not tell the difference in the mix I wouldn't say. I have been lucky enough to try out different Dingwall pickups and I am absolutely certain that in certain configurations you can bring out way more mids or whatever than you can changing the neck for Wenge for example.
  2. Bumping this for the weekend only and then it's off.
  3.
I used one of these for two years and it was awesome. The quality of the effects is about as good as it gets and the build quality of this thing is epic. It's super versatile and more flexible than you can imagine. For anyone using a load of sound live and playing a massively varied set like I was at the time, it's fantastic. It's way way above any of the multi-fx gear out there. Steve Vai uses this live. It handles all the bass you chuck at it too, it's not guitar specific, think of it as studio quality effects at your feet. Good luck with the sale.
Thank you so much for the glowing review Yeah, I actually do really love it. I also really do actually love to eat and pay bills lol! It has to go. Interested peeps, send me a message and we can talk monies.
  4. As new but without box. You know about these awesome Compressor pedals. There's just nothing on the pedal market that can match the tweak-ability of these. This one is going spare, grab a bargain! Its technologically superior engine applies perfectly tailored compression for your highs, mids and lows, and leaves you with an ultra-transparent and in the end, more musical compression than what can be achieved with standard single-band compressors. This lets you go from subtle airy shimmers, to full-on straightjacket tone-holds and anywhere in between, without ever compromising your original tone. Squeeze Into Some Tight Tones Jump straight into those old-school compression tones of yesteryear with HyperGravity Compressor's warm vintage mode. You get all of the squeeze and squash you could ever want, alongside that extra presence associated with those classic stompbox compressors we all know and love. Perfect for percussive country tones, tight funk sounds or sweet Gilmour sustain. TonePrint – Customized Compression With our proprietary TonePrint technology you can finally realize the full potential of your inner compression-geek. The free TonePrint Editor and its wealth of parameters, lets you tailor that fully focused compression tone completely to your liking. But hey, if you'd rather rely on the sonic wisdom of others, then we have a solution for that too. Via the free TonePrint App, you can beam custom-tweaked compression tones made by some of music's finest to the pedal. 5.
That's mental health issues in a nutshell. too most people they are so hard to grasp that those suffering from them feel even more isolated and misunderstood.
Indeed, it's not a decision or just feeling a bit under the weather. It's not just 'totally fed up with the world this week'. It's a dark demon eating away at your sensibilities that has the power to turn the world against you and you don't even realise. It can make you feel worthless, confused and tired. It will take away the enjoyment of even the most fun of hobbies. At worst, well, I don't need to say more.

I could have done that for you before I had to sell my Big Twin. I have a very special Marshall SuperBass here and some of the best amplifier modelling software in my studio. Sansamp would have been easy to get hold of, but alas minus the BT2 and 4x12, I'm unable to help!
  8. Just found this one: http://www.ejamming.com/learn-more/ and another called Jammr. I'd be interested to hear of anyone using these or similar and if it really does work. ejamming features Phil Collen from Def Leppard in a live video and he seems to be doing ok jamming with two musicians in totally different locations!
  9. There are indeed products out there that allow for playing together across the internet and I've heard of people using them with what appears to be success. I've not tried myself, so can't answer, though I recall one product being called 'Ohm', though I had a quick look online and without digging in to the details, it looked like a DAW that allows people across the world to record with each other at the same time. Maybe not quite what you are looking for, but I don't know - maybe it can do other stuff too!
  10. P.s. Thank you, I'm very interested to hear the differences, I appreciate the post.
  11.
The review would be great if they hadn't blended the DI and Amp signals - it's out of phase and sounds weird.
I would like to update my post to say that in the comments they offer amp only and DI only recordings too. I'm off to the DI one now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3r2_WvwczNg&feature=youtu.be

  13.
Easier than a 810 though.. Which usually fits into the boot a medium-large estate car.. I used to have a Tecamp 810..
Similarly, I used to slide the Tecamp 612 in to the back of my estate with plenty of room for bass cases etc Beast of a cabinet, full of Helium, I am sure!
  14. Ahhh! Takes me back! One of the first PA's a band I was in had those 'lovely' WEM PA cabinets:
  15. Happy Birthday BassChat! The community continues to thrive with a readership 38,000 strong where others haven't.. Testament to those contributing and of course the very hard working staff who do their jobs here voluntarily. The odd one or two that don't seem to be able to enter in to the community spirit are thankfully a minority, They just need to just 'let go' of their bee containing bonnet sometimes.

You know that feeling when you regret rejoining a conversation.. That's cool though, I'm off to play my cabinets this evening rather than talk about them Oh! And I might have some deep fried potatoes on the way home too!

I see engines as active components, like amplifiers, DSP etc. Anyway, I thought I might go check out what Barefaced had to say about the driver on the website: (Not necessarily responding directly to you, but to the discussion in general)

The analysis of a cabinet system that is suitable for FRFR and the focus is on one single component. Hopefully the screw driver will be coming out for the 745 - and I don't expect the off axis response to be jaw droppingly different for a PRO driver. In the same way that I might measure the speed of the car by the type of tyre it's wearing. So, I agree. I'd like to see the entire system being measured.

Thanks! I popped in to see if anymore had been added to the OP's original question as using active cabinets for backline is of interest to me.

Over the weekend I was lucky enough to become a proud, albeit very temporary, owner of an actual potato, or three. I’ll try to keep comments to a minimum, (Om, nomm, noms, chips...) as I think the measurements speak for themselves.* *Yes, I am having fun, this is just a lighthearted joke. (I can't believe I'm actually going to have to type that.)
  21.
That looks great.
Thank you! When the sun comes out again, I'll endeavour to do some clearer pictures!
  22. Actually, now I've researched, I understand why it would be difficult to get a truly isolated power supply in a smaller box!
  23.
the harley benton Junior from thomann is the kiddy has five isolated outputs and is about thirty notes I have been using mine for about four years and it hasn't missed a beat

I use the HB Junior too, you need to use the current addition cable though to provide 240mA (the Smoothhound needs 250mA).
Thanks guys! I'd spotted HB J in the thread in previous pages and I think that will be ok in the absence of a smaller offering - What I am looking for is something like the Mooer as I am building a small board. A 'gig bag fly rig' type of thing. If I can't do it with a micro pedal size distro then this is ace, but if I can... I enjoy a challenge
  24. Hi folks! Any ideas for a micro sized power distribution for my pedal board to include supplies that are isolated for the SmoothHound? Mooer Micro Power comes up on Google - anyone tried one? Or something better?
  25. Yup, I've received a bass delivered to my house wrapped in nothing more than one sheet of bubble wrap. It wasn't even secured. "Wow, what a surprise!" you can imagine I said when I saw it resting against my front door for the whole world to see clearly what it was!
