For my own amusement I’m going to pretend that Ramps is/was a forum member.

Can’t say whether the chances of success are as high, but I’d most definitely be opening a dispute or escalating to a claim if you have already.

How did you pay for the goods? If on a debit or credit card contact your card issuer and ask them to instigate a chargeback for goods not received. I know there’s the frustration of a previously good seller letting you down, but it’s not for you to chase this with the courier, and I wouldn’t persevere with that anyway personally, as it’s likely to result in much success IME.

Exactly my journey, minus about 5 years.

Read up on the Consumer Rights Act. As an established retailer they should be well aware of the remedies within the Act and what is a ‘reasonable time’ to repair or replace. Getting clued up on what your rights are in these situations is invaluable. Knowing your onions and being clear in your expectations in line with the law may well mean their stance alters.

I’ve used the T-Rex Quint in octave up mode, though always combined with distortion or fuzz. It’s very decent, and the ability to add a fifth is helpful if simulating guitar power chords especially. It’s no longer on my board though as it started to get a bit noisy. Need to take a proper look at it actually… In terms of wanting something ‘natural’ sounding, you may struggle. All octave up effects on bass I e tried and used (to my ears at least) have a synthetic quality to them clean to one degree or another. Stick a dirt box after one at a decent volume and it’s far less noticeable. Also, re: the Green Ringer. Believe that was an analog octave up, so clones will likely be also. You’ll get very different results with an analog pedal vs digital.

Agree. I wouldn’t even give it any time given it’s so new. Straight back to the merchant for an exchange.

I briefly had the 5-string version, more than anything to see if it was as decent as people were saying (it was) and to see if I could get in with a 5er 20 years after last playing one (I couldn’t). In terms of mods all I did was replaced the pickup with a Warman pickup. A few people seem to have done that with them. Was definitely an improvement.

That’s ace. And 15/16 frets is plenty. -
The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!

Yeah, the absence of a selector switch isn’t ideal, but that’s a budget instrument for you I guess. That said, it’s a weird one to not have vvt controls at the very least. The black one does look tidy though, and more so if it had a black scratchplate on it. -
The step still is a good idea. I used to have one of these cabs and found the same thing. They’re a right weird shape as well - narrow but deep, as you say.

It’s short, mercifully. Metallica ain’t been my bag for many, many years. But they still are to millions, so good for them. Except Lars. The cover for the forthcoming album looks like someone gave up part way through building something from random Lego pieces.

Moved over to these from Rotosounds a good while back. Much prefer them.

1995 Fender MIJ FotoFlame Jazz - *WITHDRAWN*

I’ll direct these fairly minor things at Fender initially as they’re what I generally buy, but can just as much apply to all. All basses that have black scratchplates be fitted with black screws as standard. Straplock buttons supplied with new basses. Basses to come with an alternative scratchplate included (loved this with the black JMJ Mustang). Also… BC Rich - make a nice Mockingbird Double P shortie. Gibson - kill the 3 point bridge off forever. Oh, and reissue the Flying V bass too.

From his expression and the position of his foot it appears he’s stepped in something.

How did you pay for it? If by credit or debit card consider going down the chargeback route given you’ve given the merchant ample time and opportunity to resolve and they’ve failed to. -
Stripped or not I've seen far worse (as the actress said to the bishop etc etc). Whether you keep it or sell, keep it as a whole instrument either way. Because it already is one. Just my twopenneth…

It brings to mind a Tom Waits quote… A gentleman is someone who can play the accordion, but doesn’t.

Morphine and Sandman absolutely slayed. The fact they’re so largely overlooked and unknown all these years later is nowt short of criminal in my book. So bravo to the OP for unwittingly seeking out the magnificence of Morphine.
