  1. Peterson Strobostomp Tuner for sale only. The Daddy of the all, does loads of things - see youtube clip. Brand new condition £85 posted to UK mainland.
  2. Tech 21 VT Bass Deluxe for sale only. Good condition, a few marks that were there when I bought it. £130 posted to UK mainland, bank transfer or paypal f&f. Specs from Tech 21 below. NOTE: This can work from a 9 v battery or a 9volt DC Centre negative power supply. The Deluxe version of the SansAmp VT Bass features a combination of a warm, all-analog signal path and convenient digital recall. There are 6 program locations and dual inputs for two instruments to be on-line, ready to go. Create three custom tones for each input or use all six locations for a single instrument. And you can program the FX loop to engage your favorite effect each time a so-designated preset is selected. Super simple to operate, changes can easily be made on the fly –without having to refer to the owner’s manual. You just turn the knobs to a setting you like, double click on a footswitch and it’s saved in that channel. You can custom tweak and program six of your personal sounds, from vintage clean to gnarly overdrive to crushing distortion. The Character Series pedals take their mojo from the most respected amp tones on both sides of the Atlantic. These pedals don’t just have a single character, they have the whole cast, plot and curtain call. The Level and Drive controls work like a traditional, well-equipped amp. Low, Mid and High, however, are active, providing a wider array of tonal possibilities. Then there’s the Character knob, which is something quite unique. This continuously-variable control moves seamlessly between different model voicings, covering vintage, high-gain and face-melting lead tones. The Character and Mid controls, and the speaker emulations, are all engineered to personify the specific amplifier traits and speakers associated with each amplifier type. Put simply, we’ve crammed the entire lineage of each amp style into a funky little box.

  4. I would love to be in the 1 bass camp as I have no band and don`t feel like playing the bass that much at the moment. I recently bought a Sterling Musicman and could happily just use it and nothing else.
  5. They sometimes have some nice stuff in there but I find it a bit pricey and their descriptions of the items are terrible. Nice photo`s though.
  6. I had a conversation with Dave last year about my ABM 2 x 10 compact and he said the best thing to do was line the inside of the cab with that wool underlay that you can buy, 15 mm thick if I remember correctly. He says that it tightens up the low end. When I asked him if it was so good why don`t they do it when they build them? Cost was the answer.
  7. I did a deal years ago with @lawriemacmillan and he played with Stuart if I remember right. The guy was a great writer, guitarist and singer in the Skids and Big country. I still love the first BC album The Crossing. Sadly his personal demons got the better of him
  8. I should have guessed that it was Mexican from the Roadworn moniker. The black one I was a cracker, bought and sold again on here but weighed too much for me. The Custom shop 59 pickup was exc.
  9. Cracking bass you have there. Does it weigh the same as some of the Mexican versions - the weight of a small semi detached?
  10. I had a East in a Jazz a while back and it`s a great piece of kit. If he stuck his pre in a pedal, I would be in the que for one.
  11. "Sold as seen please study pictures well." I rather not if you don`t mind.
  12. A clip from Normans rare guitars talking about TH.
  13. I have a dvd recorded when they played T in the park in 2011 if I remember right. Great gig especially when Dave threw his black explorer and then tried to play it again and it was well gubbed. What a body of work, so many fantastic tunes, I only hope that after this tragic event they can return in some form.
  14. Well to be fair they did charge me £230 for a Squier Standard P bass and that was in 2001. I didn`t know any better.
  15. I remember seeing Sadowsky basses in Guitar guitar, must have been around 2008 ish and asking the sales guy who was going to pay £1200 for a bass? Changed days. And that bass is a cracker.
  16. When I bought my first bass from McCormack`s in Glasgow, I got a second hand 10 watt Epiphone amp to go with it. It was in another room from the till and when the guy at the till asked how much the other guy said it was to buy, I told him £50. It was a lie, the other guy said it was £60 so I done them out of a tenner. No wonder the shop shut!

Just completed a deal with Tony, top man to deal with! Thanks Gerry
  18. I would get the loud guitarist`s sorted out first. No need for this these days. If you are too loud, not only do you p*ss off punters and some venue owners but unless you use decent hearing protection, you will knacker your hearing. This last point is one of the most important things to do right from the start. My last band had 2 x Marshall 100 watt toting guitar players and it was murder trying to get them to turn down and now one of them has tinitus badly.
  19. Always have a bit of Dairy Milk or similar in the car for the journey home, it`s a life saver if you can`t find a 24 hour Mickey Dee`s on the way home at 1.30 am.
  20. When playing a hot sweaty rock gig, I always wear shorts as I nearly passed out from the heat whilst playing the Beat Generator in Dundee a few years back. Some fresh air round the leg area does me the world of good.
  21. The only time I have been really bricking it was the first gig I played in 2005. It was a charity gig but after that one I have been ok thanks to some comforting words from my drummer mate: Me "Aren`t you nervous?" Drummer "No!" Righty ho! Now I just have some nerves just before you hit the first song. I prefer playing to a decent sized crowd as you get a lot more energy from them and if they like you, there is no better feeling. But if I go into a shop to try a bass out, I`m useless and can`t wait to get the heck out of there.
  22. Just completed another sale with Craig. Top man to deal with! Thanks
